My 2 teenage daughters, wife and I stayed at the beautiful Villa Angora 12 days upto 8/8/17. Having been to Kalkan once before, in 2014, it soon became apparent that the Kisle area of Kalkan faced directly west enjoying the longest and best Kalkan sunsets. This villa, in Kisle, enjoys beautiful and long lasting sun and sunsets. Most evenings my wife and I made a point of relaxing on the spacious roof terrace, with a drink, and simplly relaxed watching the sun go down over the beautiful Kalkan bay.
It is a lot more spacious than I expected. Guests can park outside the front of the Villa, immediately adjacent to the villa if going out before 10am for shade or under the small tree opposite if having a lie in. There are around 20 steps to the groundfloor level of the villa and a lovely 1.7m deep decent sized pool on the left as you approach the front door. The pool, 6 sunbeds, 2 large sun parasols area benefit from the sun from around 10am onwards. There is a strip of established land/gardens with trees and washing line some 5m wide around 3 sides of the villa. The main area is the pool area overlooking the beautiful bay.
Once inside the front door there is a good sized lounge area with a decent sized kitchen adjoining and downstairs toilet. All the floors are stone/tiled with rigs on top.
The wide stairs lead to the main double bedroom and twin bedroom. Both have great views, are spacious with plenty of draws, wardobe space and hangers and great large shower ensuites in both. The twin room was certainly self contained enough to keep my 2 teenage daughters from bickering, too much, and their ensuite kept them out of our hair.
The stairs continue to the roof terrace. The very top of the stairs collects the heat of the day and is like a sauna though this heated area is completely independant, temperaturewise, from the excellent air conditioned villa. The top roof terrace is great where are no properties immediately to the left, to the front and looks down slightly onto 2 neigjbouring properties on the right. This is a fabulous secluded roof terrace with 2 sunbeds and a table and chairs. We loved it. From the roof terrace there is a door leading to the top bedroom. This is a decent sized twin room, with aircon, and a pitched roof to one side that would restrict movement for taller people. There were only 4 of us and we didnt use this top bedroom. I would suggest this room is more suitable for kids upto young teenage years or shorter adults.
The location? As previously described. Most Kalkan tourists enjoy the many different restaurants in and around the old town and, though there are a couple of closeby localised restaurants and the beach clubs you are likely to need transport to enjoy the centre of Kalkan itself. It is both to far and impractical to walk from the villa to Kalkan. Given the close proximity, 5 mins walk downhill, to Kalkan Beach Club ( though named this it is in Kisle and you can see it below from the villa and is brilliant for families ) we had planned to jump on the free Kalkan beach club launch ( the other Mahal Brach Club for couples I would suggest and Pattara Prince resort have different launches ) across the bay to Kalkan and then get a 10 -15tl cab ride back from Kalkan Centre. The last launches, I believe, run until sunset. Due to my wifes ruptured achilles, 8 weeks before our holiday, I hired a car instead from Dalaman airport and we drove everywhere. In essence the villa owner has a property in a semi secluded location, far enough up the hill so as to enjoy fabulous views but low enough for a 5 minute walk ( 10mins back lol ) to the fabulous beach clubs....unless you have a ruptured achilles that is.
The owners agent left us a great food welcome pack on arrival and, if we go back to beautiful Kalkan, I will certainly be looking to again hire this great villa.
PS. For parents who want a peace of mind and have teenage daughters HIRE A VILLA!
