“Lovely, friendly place and great food”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Nothing pretentious about this place with its sleeping dogs and open view of the homely kitchen. It's small and family run – as the name implies – with mum and daughter doing all the cooking.
We loved its informality and tasty dishes. It's also hidden away from the main Kalkan drag and so could be described as a hidden gem. Having said that, it does fill up, probably entirely due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Service was a little slow when it was busy, but the best antidote is to sip another beer and relax.

“Turkish hospitality at its finest.”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

Our second summer in Kalkan and this restaurant just gets better with every visit. Last year we sampled delicious breakfasts consisting of freshly cooked to order omelettes or bacon and eggs and were delighted with plates of cheese, homemade jams, bread and tomatoes and cucumber which appeared whilst the food was prepared. The family who run the restaurant are lovely and cannot do enough to make your visit memorable. The prices are very reasonable and the food is fresh and tasty. The menu is very extensive so we decided to sample an evening meal this year and we had to repeat the experience due to its high quality. As we were a party of 7 and the restaurant was full were given hot courgette fritters and cheese rolls whilst we waited for our main meals. All the food was lovely and served on china plates, the water in pretty crystal tumblers, English tea and coffee in china cups, Turkish tea in traditional glasses on silver plates and brandy in finest crystal ( it is just like going to your nans for sunday tea with all the best crockery out ). We finshed the meal with warm baklava and ice cream. Overall a fabulous experience and free internet, what more can you ask for, we shall be back again sometime soon.

“Little gem”
Reviewed 11 August 2013 via mobile

As the name suggests, it is their home. Traditonal turkish cooking at its best. We found this gem on our first night as it was at the end of our road, they offer free wifi which the kids loved, Fantastic!

“Traditional, flavoursome food with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

I stayed in Kalkan for my first time last year and absolutely loved it, so much that we are returning this year. We stayed in a villa just up the road from 'Our home' and decided to stop by for breakfast one morning before heading off to Patrara beach for the day. The couple were so welcoming and overjoyed to her that all four of us wanted the Turkish breakfast rather than the English breakfast. The food was truly mouth-watering and not in the slightest expensive. When we left they blew us kisses and waved us goodbye. I love this hidden gem and will, no doubt, go back and enjoy the beautiful Turkish food again this year!
