Nothing is too much trouble for Ahmed and his small friendly team. You are made to feel welcome and pampered from start to finish. We had the apartment room with fridge, kitchen, sitting area and double bed. Sheets and towels changed every day - so convenient for the beach, harbour, shops, cafés and restaurants. I'm going back.

From the moment we entered the hotel we felt at home. The Zinbad is a very traditionally Turkish hotel, recently updated and very comfortable with good air conditioning, and free WiFi. Ahmed, the owner couldn't have been more helpful, and his family members who were fully involved were lovely, always smiling and willing to assist. The room was immaculately clean and the roof terrace where we had breakfast had an exceptional view over the harbour and bay. Very centrally located in the Old Town close to the Mosque, and adjacent to many fine restaurants and shops. We would certainly recommend it for a value for money stay.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the harbour are quieter in the evenings, as there are night clubs close by, but the triple glazed windows are very effective in reducing the sound.

We had a lovely week at the Zinbad in May. Ahmed the owner was extremely helpful and arranged for us to move rooms so we had a sea view, he also gave us advice on local attractions and even drove us to a local beach. The rooms are clean and a good size. We originally had a room at the back but asked to move as the nightclub nearby kept us up late, this only seemed to be on a Saturday night but we felt happier moving to the front of the hotel. The hotel has a fantastic location and we really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: go for a sea view

Hotel Zinbad is a gem of a hotel centrally located in the chic hilly resort of Kalkan
The entire hotel is spotless and the views from the sun terrace where meals and drinks are served are breathtaking
The cuisine is lovely with traditional Turkish fare in the mornings (and the option of a full English breakfast) and an extensive menu in the evenings
Ahmet and his staff are all lovely friendly people who cannot do enough for you - one of them even volunteered to pop uphill to the pharmacy one morning on his scooter on our behalf!
There is a nightclub nearby which is open until the early hours (4am!) but one of the great features of the air-conditioned rooms is the double glazed windows which shut out the music very successfully indeed
It is great for the younger set to have somewhere to go at night but as most of the town's visitors this May were probably past their clubbing days, one must question the wisdom of the local authorities licensing such late hours
Would we go back? Yes, definitely - it's a lovely place and a great hotel!

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view from seaview bedrooms

Lovely staff, small but comfortable and clean room with balcony overlooking harbour. Right in the old town. Great breakfast! Fresh with something different served up as part of the Turkish breakfast each day. It was wonderful to start the day on the rooftop terrace with great views over the bay as we enjoyed the delicious food. The only suggestion I would make is to offer filter or Turkish coffee - most people don't like Nescafé! (Unless they're desperate!)
