I travelled with our extended family the youngest being 13 and the oldest 75. This villa was perfect for us not only was it truly stunning what it offered for shade, sun, swimming pool and facilities was just perfect. The management company was fantastic and always popped in to make sure we were having a great time and to help us with any issues. We could not have asked for any better and when our transfer to the airport home which I had booked separately they jumped into action to get us to the airport in time. I cannot praise them enough so I am surprised at the other review.
The location was perfect and we found a cab driver as soon as we arrived (Ali) who acted as our personal driver so we never experienced anyone not finding the villa. You can walk down to the beach club and get a water taxi to the main town. Everyone is so lovely and just want to genuinely look after you. We hired a boat for the afternoon one day called Dream captained by Ali (common name) we had a great time and were looked after well.
The restaurants are fantastic and if you just want a nice cafe to hang out during the day then I would recommend the Lighthouse we spent a number of hours there.
If you are considering a villa and you are 7-9 people then this villa is a great option.
I can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had at Villa Defne last August. The whole family absolutely loved it. The villa is perched 150m above the sea and is absolutely superb with incredible views from each room. \We never tired of the view of Kalkan Bay with the sun going down.
The downstairs is spacious (and with those views!), not that you are inside much, with a well equipped kitchen and all "mod-cons". My son and I particularly appreciated the provision of Sky Sports so we could keep up to date with The Ashes! There is ample sun-bathing space for 10 and a large sheltered table to enjoy "those views" over dinner. Each bedroom has floor to ceiling windows to wake up to "that view"! They are all very spacious with nice marble en-suites.
The villa is just above the sea and a 3 minute drive from the old Town. There is 2 nearby small shops for daily bread, milk, etc. It is a short walk down to the nearby beach club where water sports are available (and a cliff-side water slide for children). Twice weekly cleaning with bedding and towel changes, was provided and really appreciated. The cleaners were friendly and Mustafa dealt quickly with any minor issues we had.
Kalkan Town is a gem, with its tiny stone paved roads lined with gift and curiosity shops that lead down to the harbour. However, the most fantastic thing are the open air rooftop restaurants that serve some superb food that wouldn't be out of place in London.
You can probably tell from this review that we were smitten by our first trip to Kalkan and we have re-booked for 3 weeks this time, next summer in Villa Defne!

Villa Defne, is on the surface a nice, large and modern villa but simple things make a big difference.
The biggest problem is the management agency, who showed little to no concern for the problems we had.
We were promised to be welcomed by the villa manager, who not only didn't show but proved very difficult to reach.
The cleaning staff only visited once which meant we had to do a great deal of daily chores ourselves from cleaning to washing the linen and clearing the bins. Not want you want on your holiday.
When the cleaners did in fact turn up - one of the 3 just sat around playing on his phone rather than clean the property. All this was further compounded when we were asked to pay additional cleaning fees after we left because the villa wasn't in a fit state!
Furthermore - the Villa is not as close to the town as you may like. It's not a 20 minute walk as described. The whole villa complex is on a hill-side area accessed only by the main motorway. A small access road goes along the coast but requires walking up to the main road then back down again adding considerable time to the walk.
Cabs are readily available but they really don't know where the villa is despite various attempts to show & describe its location.
The villa has an addition problem of being exposed on the top of the hill and we lost various items into the road over the wall when the winds got up. It also blew many of the glasses off the outside tables - which the management charged us for.
My advise - go for one of the villas attached to Beach Club Mahal or Patara Prince resort nearby.
