My partner (now Husband) and I had been to the hotel a number of times before September 2009 after accidentally finding it on a walk with my parents one holiday. We have always had an amazing time there. So much so that we asked the owner Masuda if she would ever consider allowing us to marry there. Not only was the answer yes but within minutes she was deep into planning mode and clearly enjoying it as much as I was!! I think we were their third wedding but there was no risk of it not being slick or perfect. I gave a list of the kind of things I wanted and Masuda went away and not only found them but found things that were better! She arranged a traditional Henna ceremony for us two days before the wedding and invited all the guests in the hotel along with our extended family and friends who weren't even staying at the hotel. All the staff stayed behind after their work had finished or came in early for their shift in order to participate.
On the day of the wedding everything was perfect - every tiny detail and then some - the decorations didn't just include the white flowers I had asked for but things like fish in bowls, tiny evil eyes on ribbons tied to the base of each glass - incredible attention to detail. I spent the whole evening saying "wow" as I discovered all these tiny special little details. Once again the staff were all hands on deck to help - and also the owner's family and friends (an aunt actually spent hours spray painting stones silver to make an aisle for me to walk down) - I have seen the pictures of the preparation and can't believe the number of people involved - but not just that, the smiles on their faces - very much enjoying the excitement or the event. The staff once again stayed behind to watch - the girls evening dancing in the breakfast terrace above the garden where we ate and danced. I asked for ipod music on a stereo and got the owner's youngest son on his decks with his disco lights - fantastic!!! This hotel is wonderful - I read reviews where people complain about the size of the rooms - it's just a room and it's size is only indicative or the time at which the hotel was built - the bathroom has a powerful shower, the bed is comfy, it's very clean and the aircon works - what else do you need on holiday. The thing that makes this hotel is the great staff, great food and great atmosphere. The staff are fantastic - they can't do enough for you and you go away feeling like one of the family. We will always be grateful for the effort that was made for us and will always come back here - it's like coming home!!
Thank you to Masuda, Nuri, Dolonay , Ash and all the team at the Regency!!!! You gave us our perfect day!!!!
