The property is within walking distance of the town and located in a quiet street, away from the main town hubbub. The rooms are all light and airy and the villa is beautifully furnished with everything you need for your holiday stay.
Downstairs the living/dining/kitchen areas are all perfectly appointed. There is a beautiful dining table on the veranda overlooking the pool where we often sat, relaxing and chilling out. The sitting room was always cool and we did sit there on some evenings and watched a dvd or 2, (supplied by Stephen and Rachel).
The bedrooms are roomy, particularly on the first floor, as are the bathrooms.
There is an additional twin bedroom on the top floor, with an extremely sunny terrace, which looks out to the sea.
Gareth, who looks after things day-to-day, was especially helpful and on hand for practical questions.
The town is vibrant with many places to eat out and socialise and the climate in September was perfect.
We'd return in a heartbeat!
We have now stayed at Villa Calkris twice over the past years, with each visit a fantastic and memorable one. The owners Stephen and Rachel couldn't have been more helpful, with an abundance of local knowledge of things to and see. The villa is situated in the picturesque town of Kalkan, just a short walk to the beach and a vast number of brilliant (and reasonably priced!) restaurants, bars and shops.
For when you need a break from the bustling town, the villa itself has everything you need, and more. With a fully equipped and spacious kitchen and lounge, it really felt like a 'home away from home'. The rooms were large and comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotless when we arrived. The pool area is lovely, and multiple roof terraces have incredible sea views, both with comfy loungers great for relaxing in the sun.
All in all, the positive things about our stay here were endless! If you want a holiday to remember, then I can't recommend this villa enough. Thank you Stephen and Rachel, we will definitely be back soon!
This was our second stay in Villa Calkris and I am sure we will be returning!
The villa itself is stunning, with a beautiful pool area (for when even the short walk to the sea seems like too much effort), spacious balconies with sun loungers and wonderful views of the coastline.
The owners were extremely accommodating, providing plenty of information about local amenities and things to do.
Even this late in the season the weather was still beautiful, with the added benefit that the normally bustling town centre in Kalkan, only 15 minutes walk away from the villa, was serenely quiet.
Kalkan offered a wide variety of restaurants and bars, predominantly very reasonably priced, as well as lots of activities. On each of our stays we spent a day on a boat owned by one of the locals, travelling around the coast, stopping for a swim every now and then, as well as having a delicious meal cooked on board for us.
It was an utterly serene week, and as I look outside and see a typical 'great British summer', I wish that we were back there already.
The owners of this lovely villa were very accommodating, we only had a short stay, but loved all its facilities and location. The view from the roof terrace was beautiful.
