“Oreo Hotel, it's basic but it's good!”
Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

The Oreo's rooms are basic but very clean, our room(307 on the top floor)had a small balcony and a fantastic view of the sea, most rooms do have balconies and sea views but not all. We had one small issue in our room which was that the shower leaked and we had to dry the tiled bathroom floor with a towel.
Breakfast was pretty good, muesli, egg, bread, tomato, cucumber, melon, fruit juice, tea and coffee.
There's a lovely little pool area
with a bar where you can buy drinks and order snacks.
Every member of staff that we dealt with was extremely pleasant and very helpful.
There is no elevator in this hotel and it is situated halfway up a very steep hill so if you have difficulty in getting around it may not be ideal for you.
I would use this hotel again, I just felt comfortable there.

I enjoyed staying here but the hotel was hardly full so it might become noisy in season. The rooms are clean and the ones facing the bay have lovely views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet good and the swimming pool and bar area excellent!

I read some mixed reviews about this hotel but it exceeded my expectations. It isn't plush and certain parts could be updated, the showers do leak on the floor but this isn't a massive problem as it dries out quickly in the heat. The breakfast is fairly simple and could be varied a bit but it was still really nice. I agree with other comments about the sheets which are a bit rough! On the positive side, the staff are so friendly and attentive, nothing seemed like too much trouble. The bar and pool area are lovely, and if you do have the buffet meal in the hotel, the food was excellent! The activities organised through the company linked to the hotel were excellent! Paragliding is a must do activity! During the first night the location seemed really noisy with dogs barking, chickens and the call to prayer, but I surprisingly seemed to get used to this and by the end of the week I slept through it all!

We visited as part of a group tour. Our room was clean with a view towards the sea and we enjoyed the beautiful bouganvillia which adorns the building. The staff are hard working and efficient and when we ate in the hotel with the group our meal was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The beds are a bit small and hard with a rather coarse coverlet instead of a normal top sheet which took a bit of getting used to. The hotel is up a steep slope 10 minutes from the centre of the busy town of Kas and has a 'local' feel about it complete with chickens running around in the street outside. There is good free wi fi in the reception area or in your room if you are near to the reception area. I have rated the sleep quality as poor because of being disturbed by other guests coming in late (lots of young people in groups stay in the hotel) plus the local mosque is close by and woke us daily at 6am plus, as mentioned , the beds are not to everyones taste.

Room Tip: ask for a room looking towards the sea - there is no lift but views from the higher rooms are better...

Great base for the activity holiday I was on. They also had good links to arrange other activities. Friendly helpful staff. Pool is clean and inviting. Enjoyed the free wifi and al fresco dining, We enjoyed two great bbq dinners which were served by the pool. Having a water cooler with an honesty box to refill water bottles is a great idea. I was a little concerned about having a safety deposit box in reception but this actually worked well. I never did get around to asking for a hair dryer as the weather was so lovely and I didn't miss a TV as much as I expected.

We stayed here through Exodus. The staff are very friendly with good english and professional attitude from what we gathered were all the owners friends and family.

They write all your drinks on receipts which means you can get run away with how much you spent. One couple ate a few times as well, but spent over 1000 TL at the bar. The breakfast is basic but the coffee is good. They do have stray cats around the hotel, but they are all friendly and just wait by your table, they don't steal your food.

From our room we could see right down to the town and to the sea, it was one of our better views. The bed and pillows were hard and only 1 pillow each person, they didn't even have any in the wardrobe. Some people have complained about the bathrooms flooding, but we did not experience this, and the shower was powerful and hot as expected. The bathroom was crampt though. The balcony was nice to sit on but the chairs were slightly basic patio chairs. The electrics and lights half worked but enough not to complain. We did notice the cleaning staff did not clean the sink or floor once and were in each room for only a few minutes a day. The A/C was working perfectly and not noisy at all.

Overall, the hotel is a good basic hotel with lovely staff, but we do feel they could improve the rooms by some simple changes and maintainance.

P.S. The bar in the pool in the website pictures is no longer there.

Room Tip: Rooms 08 and 09 on each floor are away from the road and pool/bar area and so quieter. 05-07 have th...

I had a nice stay at this hotel, which looks very pretty on the outiside. The rooms are very basic, which is fine too, but the bathroom gets very messy when you take a shower and my bathroom surely was not cleaned on a daily basis.
Apart from this the staff is very nice and friendly and they offer nice breakfast and nice evening meals. They could do with a bit of renovation on the inside.
