The situation above Kas bay could not be bettered, the facilities are excellent and the views are fantastic. The rooms are great, spacious and well furnished, with a huge mirror above the bed, which is either exciting or embarrassing, depending on your age group.... We, like others, had issues with a continuous air con sound, even though it was switched off. Elixir is very professional, the airport transfers and the three-times a day free shuttle into Kas were very efficient. So where's the but...? It was a certain lack of atmosphere. The only restaurant, by the pool, is a rather dismal shed-like structure which is not very welcoming. It is of course possible to eat out on the terrace overlooking the sea, but towards the end of the season, cooler nights and the strong winds when we were there made this undesirable so there was little socialising in the nearby outdoor bar. In the transfer back to the airport, all the guests agreed that they had enjoyed their time there, but would probably not return, citing a staff who were polite, but in some cases distant, and a general lack of atmosphere..

Just returned from our honeymoon in Turkey and spend three nights in wonderful Kas...and stayed at this wonderful spot on the peninsula...

I must say this hotel is so so close to perfect...however there were a couple of small things which prevented it from being a full 5/5 in our minds.

First the good (and by good I really mean outstanding!):
- The location is incredible. Amazing views, fairly easy to get in to Kas with the constant shuttles provided, direct access to the wonderful Mediterranean ocean and the largest 'pool' you could ever want in the peninsula....yep, you could say the location is top-notch. Hotel itself is gorgeous! The sauna/turkish bath area was really cool, the outdoor pool was amazing, and just lounging next to the ocean was super comfortable...
- The room was a lot of fun - we stayed in Coral which had it's own plunge pool - amazing views from the deck, pretty private....not everything was perfect though (see below)
- Food is great - really no need to leave and food prices themselves were fairly reasonable compared to what you can get in town (we didn't eat much at the hotel as we wanted to explore the town but when we did it was superb!) - this includes breakfasts...those crepes....yum!
- Service - Everyone was very friendly and trying to help...didn't always manage to but that's covered below...lots of smiles, always someone around if you need it, Salman was hilarious but also helped us with a couple of road trips we did so thanks is due! Everyone was very attentive and polite

There were a couple of areas where we felt the hotel let itself down a little bit...and we only say this because everything else was of such high quality....

Room issues - We had a couple of issues which meant my wife and I didn't get great quality of sleep (in fact probably the worst out of or two week trip to Turkey...). Firstly, we had an issue with one of the fans (it sounded like) in the ventilation system which kept switching itself on and off over the course of the night. We raised this on night one - were told that they aware of it, but since it was Sunday the technicians would only look at it next day. Fair enough. Nothing was fixed, raised again after second night and told they couldn't really do anything about it but might change our room if it was a 'big issue'.
Was also told the technician thought it 'didn't sound that bad'. Well that's great to know but the technician wasn't the one paying for the room or sleeping in it at night!!
We also had pretty bad mosquito issues on a couple of the nights...I personally hunted down 4 or 5 on one night but didn't prevent us from getting bitten several times and getting woken up by the buzzing of the little critters :) Not much the hotel can do about this I guess, but worth them noting perhaps for next season
Also - and I know this is a stretch! - the plunge pool got very little sun during the course of the day...so was freezing! (to be fair, it was end of season) if you can, get one of the rooms with a bit more sun ...as a future improvement, the hotel could consider heating the plunge pools...especially the smaller ones...that would be heavenly!

Service - Although very friendly and attentive, some small inconsistencies. For example, toiletries were not replenished every night...very very small thing but at a hotel with 5* aspirations these really shouldn't be an issue.

Value - Overall excellent - however the lack of freely available water in our room (unless we missed something) was annoying considering we were advised not to drink the tap water. The only time I felt value was an issue was the 4.50 GBP for a 500ml bottle of local still water....I realise this was a mini-bar price, but what the hotel might consider is to provide complimentary local still water and then have imported water (Voss, Evian) available for those who would like to splurge a little bit...
As a point of comparison - we stayed in 3 other 5* hotels during our trip (including in Instanbul), and local bottled water was complimentary at every other spot.

So overall - absolutely brilliant place to stay, with a couple of small things to improve - but I would strongly recommend it anyway to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious break in Kas.

Room Tip: Coral room very good, felt had good privacy due to the location. Views are incredible (that can probably be said for all the rooms!) Plunge pool was fun but cold, so if you can get a room with more sun exposure go for it!

We returned to this hotel in early September ...what a difference. We stayed in Jade which I think is one of the best rooms, good size plunge pool which was actually warm as it had the sun on it all day, we did hear a lot of sharp intakes of breath coming from other pools that didn't gett so much sun ! The decking was a large space and even had a little shaded corner which was completely private out of view from all other rooms, generally all the decks are overlooked by rooms above. It was however , the staff that made such a difference. At reception there is Natalia, always smiling and ready to help, she is married to Jihan who has taken over the management and is doing a great job. Chef, Ismail has been a great new addition, we really enjoyed his food and actually did not go to Kas as much as we had intended to because it was so good. Behind the bar was the charming Eren who produced some amazing cocktails, a lovely guy. Then we must mention the very unique Salman, he is an absolute delight and very good at his job complete with great humour, we always enjoyed his input ! Many other new staff who were without exception trying very hard sorry not to name you all but we thank you too. Good to see Typhun again !
This year we met some great guests, there was a completely different atmosphere the bar was a hive of activity and laughter , thanks to all for their company.
The only sad bit for us is the fact that we cannot return next year although we attempted to re-book straight away, but it seems Elixir want to keep the place to itself and would not give the booking to Discerning Collection who we use for our 3 weeks in Turkey,( we go on to Kalkan after a week in Kas. ) not impressed by that at all .
Thanks again to all the staff.

Room Tip: In my opinion Jade is the best.

We had a week at the Peninsula mid September this year. The facilities were first class and could not be faulted. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful at all times - nothing was too much trouble for them.
On the rare occasion you wished to leave the hotel and venture in to town a shuttle was provided free of charge each way.
The rooms were modern and spacious - our had a large shower which was great, a bath would have been nice but it certainly did not detract from our enjoyment of the holiday - after all there was a very large plunge pool on our private decking.
Just wondering how soon we can go back.

Room Tip: Just look at their web site

Yes it really is as good as the reviews say it is. Wife and I here for 4 nights early September and very impressed with just about everything the hotel had to offer. Ruby was great with wonderful views and a lovely pool. Staff were great and special mention to Salman. Had two very good dinners watching the sunset, wonderful.
Special mention to Elixir and owner Ali who suggested we did 4 nights at the Peninsula and 3 nights Likya Gardens in Kalkan. Both wonderful in different ways but we much preffered Kas to Kalkan, Kalkan was very British Kas more authentic. Elixir were proffesional from start to finish and never pushy on the trips, we did the gullet which was great with 8 of us not at all crowded but did'nt go too far as high winds forcast. Turkish bath a real treat so good we had two. If you're eating in Kash try and find Retro Bistro in the centre, its small but we had a fantastic meal there. Met some lovely people, hi to Ursula and Renato. Go, you won't be disapointed.

Room Tip: Ruby lovely
