On a three week trip to Turkey, I ended up in Kas on a whim -- thought I might stay a night or two; ended up staying 4 nights, in no small part due to the lovely staff of the Hotel Kayahan. The room was graciously sized, by European standards, meticulously clean, and nicely affordable. Add a great location and a warm, friendly, welcoming staff who could not have done more to make me (a solo female traveler) feel at home...and you can bet I will be back the first chance I get.

Kas is a pretty place with good bathing facilities and plenty of excursions to places of interest, either by boat or jeep. It's lively enough at night to suit our teenage daughters, and from the nearby hill-tops we went paragliding, which the girls loved.

Hotel Kayahan is excellent. It's not expensive, has clean and comfortable rooms, a roof-top terrace restaurant with wonderful views - and they serve the best mezé food we have ever eaten. The staff are friendly and courteous, and Deniz the owner went out of his way to be helpful. The hotel also arranged a cheap and efficient taxi service from and to the airport. All in all, very good value.

We moved to Kayahan from a plce called Defne next door. Defne was a complete disaster and when we found Kayahan we were extremely happy to move. The view, clean rooms, friendly owner were doing it's best to make our holiday enjoyable.

Kas isn't a big place but when you arrive at midnight after a long and delayed bus ride, the hotel's offer of a free pickup from the bus station was brilliant (they also took us back for free at the end of our stay). Due to our lateness, the hotel skipped a formal check in, helped us to our room and left us to relax after our long journey.

The room was very clean and we were lucky enough to be given a sea view. The room had its own AC and the TV had a few English language channels. Opening the curtains on the first morning was a real treat with gorgeous views out to sea and various boats crossing the bay - it was a perfect scene. Breakfast is served on a very nice rooftop terrace (with more fantastic views) and is fresh, plentiful and helpful staff are always on hand.

There is a nice and well-maintained swimming pool at the side of the hotel too. We also ate at the hotel one evening and enjoyed the free glass of wine they offer - the food was good and reasonably priced.

There was only one downside to our stay - as we were on the third floor, we were directly below the rooftop terrace and noise from breakfasters and diners could get a bit loud. We didn't see this as a problem big enough to mention to the hotel, but if we did, I'm absolutely confident that management would do everything they could to help. A nice place to stay, great location, lovely clean rooms and friendly staff.

We stayed at this hotel in September 2010 for 3 nights with young children.

+ points:
-View from the room balcony is quite good, higher floor gets better view, although you have to climb stairs (no lifts).
-Dinner buffet at rooftop restaurant is excellent value, you even get a free glass of wine if you go there at happy hour.
-View from the rooftop restaurant (used for breakfast and dinner buffet) is really great.
-Very helpful staffs, free transfer to/from bus terminal on request.

- points:
-Rooms are quite small, if you are just two people it’ll be OK, but for us (two adults and two children) it was too small, as triple rooms here are just the same room with one more bed than double rooms.
-The room was not so clean, a lot of hairs left on floor and inside sheets. We could have asked them to change sheets and clean the room again but we didn’t, because our children were very tired and had to sleep early.

We had a fantastic time again at our seventh vacation here.
We stayed 13 nights here and had 13 dinners here , each of them verry good, 1 night
everybody even got half a lobster, Questions??
Fishsoup, stuffed calamar, daily fresh mezes, wow!
Plenty of good wine and beer.
It is really a big family, we met people from last year again and a lot of new people.
Amazing, there has even been a group of blind people and they had a lot of fun.
Thank you Deniz and Jacob and the rest.

Highly Recommended. A friend and I stayed three nights at Hotel Kayahan. Beautiful views from a sea view double room. The hotel ıs clean and well kept and is located right near the waterfront beach chair area. We strolled down to the water to swim and sun bath in minutes. English speakıng staff that is very helpful. Giving info on the area. I left something valuable in their rooftop dining room and it was delivered to my room before I even discovered that I had lost it! We were leaving on a late night bus and they graciously provided us a place to shower and freshen up before we left then gave us a ride to the bus station. I would definitely return!
