We sailed our boat to Kalekoy Harbour and did the usual tourist thing - visited the fort etc. Before we left we decided to lunch at the family run Likya Restaurant. We tied our boat to the restaurant's wharf and we were welcomed by Mehmet Demir, the owners son, who made us a delightful lunch. We stayed for diner as well and had a great seafood meal - really fresh and cooked just so well.

Two days later we had to return as we missed the friendly atmosphere and great food. Mehmet's mother was happy to share her recipes and even allowed a younger family member help prepare some of her Turkish specialties.

An unforgettable experience and we will surely be back next season.

You set sail from Ucagiz, call in at Kalekoy, which is the port for Simena CAstle, then off you go round the islands in the Kekova region calling in at the sunken ruins of the old 'city'. As our guide says,'this is not Atlantis', but still the wole trip is a must do.

One of the most beautiful parts of a beautiful coast. We sailed down from Kalkan and then in to this ideallic location. Up to the castle through very ramshackled paths and the inevitable rug and herb sellers. Great views of the whole of Kekova Roads, the take the chance to get up close with some Lycian rock sarcophagi before swimming in the bay around the half sunken one. Magical.

We visited here on a boat tour... and it was OK. I was not up for a hike up to the ruins, so we stayed below. Shopping was sparse and not really an interest to me. We did have some ice cream... which was OK. I have to remind myself, we did this at the end of the day long trip, so I was a bit tired at this time. Not my favorite part of my fabulous time in southern Turkey.

Very good, exotic place. However be careful about the sellers in the village. They simply are unkind and unhelpful unless you buy something from them.
