We stayed at the Hideaway hotel for 4 nights, for the most part very pleased with our stay.

Pros:
- Very nice views from the roof top, beautiful sunset
- Breakfast is decent, hot eggs, nice spread
- Rooms are decent size, clean and bathroom was nice and clean
- Room service everyday
- Great shower and hot water all day
- Tea, hot water all day long
- All the ladies, the cleaning and the kitchen staff were very nice and welcoming
Cons:
- Location, walking back and forth from the hotel to the main square is a bit painful. The place is almost the last one at the end of two hill climbs. Also, with the uphill walk the Bus station feels like far, though it is only a 5 minutes walk.
- I wasn't feeling well, so husband requested for a late checkout (instead of 1030 asked for an extra hour), the almost non-interested indifferent bar tender refused. The place was practically empty still he basically refused to accommodate us which was very odd and was a bit upsetting, sole reason why I am hesitated to give them a 5 star, otherwise the place was very nice

We took the local bus from Fethiya...most economical and the drivers have experience on the windy bits of the D400. The Hideaway is family run and only 10 TL in the taxi from the bus station.
Close enough to walk back if you are travelling on to Antalya but our charming host Ahmed drove us. Our room had a small balcony with sea views and the food served is excellent quality. We ate at the hotel one night and two different restaurants in town on the other nights. It was a short walk in. The other excellent thing is the deal with Lemonya? bar in the adjacent street on the water.
Lounge and umbrella free and a real delight to fall off the steps into sparkling water. I'd go back here if returning to Kas (pronounced cash)

Room Tip: Front rooms have water views

We stayed 4 nights at the Hideaway earlier this October. I will give an honest review, based on our experience. Let's start with the positive. Very good location at the western edge of town, right next to the antique amphitheatre and only minutes to walk to downtown Kas. Very pretty roof terrace with good views. Overall clean and fresh, with pretty decor and lot of plants. Marie, the owner, is very friendly, patient, nice, always eager to answer any question or request you may have. She organized a boat outing for us and managed to get us 2 recliners on the front of the boat, without any extra fees. We unfortunately can't say the same for Ahmet, her husband and owner. Not a single hello or smile during our whole stay, we always had the feeling we were bothering him if we asked something. Overall not a very pleasant person at all. The only time we got a smile and a chat was when checking out, we felt he was happy to finally get our money. Incidentally, we were not the only guests who had the same feeling regarding him. The staff is OK, nothing more. The rooms, although pretty, all white and fresh looking, are very small, very basic and cheaply furnished. Overall clean except for the rug which was extremely dirty and stained. Some mud stains on the tile floor were left there for the whole length of our stay. The bathroom is ridiculously minuscule but clean and nicely updated. Did not like at all their foamy shampoo/soap combination, we thought it was cheap and horrible. The balcony was nice to have and we got good use of the clothes line, nice extra. The breakfast selection was probably one the worst and slimmest we had in all of our travel throughout Turkey. No fresh juice included. No toaster. The prepackaged cherry jam was out of date. But at least they had some fresh fruits and also good yogurt and honey, which we appreciated. The hotel will also provide you with beach towels if needed, another nice extra. Internet connection was very sketchy and extremely slow. So overall an average experience, good in some regards, disappointing in others. Certainly not up to all the hype but still enjoyable if you do not expect too much.

Room Tip: Get a room with balcony on the third floor and you'll have a partial view of the bay.

We've just come home from a return trip to this wonderful little hideaway that we found in Kas. We don't usually go back to the same place twice but this lovely little family run hotel is so welcoming and so relaxing that it really is like a home from home. Ahmed. Marie and the staff are all really helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean. The food is delicious both at breakfast and the evening meze, and not enough can be said about the beauty of the sunsets and the moon rises over the bay. A truly spectacular setting for a perfect gem. Well done guys.

Before I begin the review of the hotel, I thought I should add this in here because I read dozens upon dozens of hotel reviews for Kas, and no one had mentioned this:

The drive from Antalya to Kas is extremely curvy and the way our driver drove didn't make it any better! When I didn't have my eyes closed to try and combat the waves of nausea, the scenery seemed beautiful. I felt so sick the entire way. For those who get motion sickness easily, take medicine beforehand! Okay, now onto my review:

The Hideaway Hotel is a cute little building on a small, quiet alley. It has a great location, neighboring the Hellenistic Theater and only a few minutes walk to the city center. Upon arriving, the owner took us to our room, then showed us to the rooftop terrace, where he had the staff bring us tea and a small snack, which was just what we needed after 3 hours in a car.

The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. We were able to fit our suitcase and throw our clothes about the floor while still having room to walk around. There was a small balcony, which we never went to because we didn't have the best view (another pension). In fact, one evening I came in from the beach and began to take off my swimsuit, when I noticed that the cleaning staff had pulled back the curtain and opened our window, and a man was looking in from across the alley! Yikes! The bathroom is small but equipped with soap dispenser, hair dryer, nice shower.

Make sure to eat breakfast on the rooftop terrace! It's also a great place to relax and read a book during the day, or have a cocktail at night. Breakfast begins at 8- go early to grab a table with a view or go later, around 9:30, when most people have left. The breakfast is great! There is such a wide variety of breakfast items, plus they will make eggs to order.

Here are my few complaints:
1.) The bed/sheets. The bed wasn't very comfortable and began to hurt my back a bit after 3 nights. The sheets are a bit itchy.

2.) We were on the top (3rd) floor and once breakfast began 8 am, we could hear everyone walking up the stairs to the terrace then walking/talking on the terrace itself. Don't plan on sleeping past 8 if you're on the top floor.

3.) From what I have read about hotels in Kas, this is something that happens across the board, not just at this hotel. My fiance and I each had a cocktail one night and the bartender charged us for 3. Luckily, my fiance spotted it the next morning and we had the owner correct it. I can understand if it had been a busy night, but there was only us and 2 other couples. Again, this seems to happen everywhere and I, like others, suggest you pay for drinks/food/whatever immediately instead of at the end of your stay and keep your receipts.

4.) This isn't my personal complaint, but my fiance said that he thought it a bit expensive, especially when our friends who traveled with us paid less for an entire apartment.

Other than that, we had a lovely stay here and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: We stayed in 309. Asking for a pool view might give you something else to look at other than pension...

I can only re-iterate other reviews, a delightful little hotel with personal attention from the smiling owners, nothing too much trouble. Comfortable rooms with really good shower and very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly and the terrace is the jewel in the crown, lovely views at any time of the day. We arranged a boat trip to Kekova, well worth doing and took the ferry over to Meis, the Greek Island on the horizon. Lots of lovely walks and super beach just a few minutes walk from the hotel, with a cafe serving very tasty food. Breakfast at the hotel was quite a choice of goodies and freshly cooked eggs to order, plenty of fresh fruit and dried fruit, cereals, meats, cheese olives etc etc. We ate out mostly, but the mezzes served at the hotel in the evening are good and a meal in themselves! You can't go wrong staying here.

Directions to this small hotel were right on the mark when driving; and we weren't disappointed at the hotel. Our room was small but clean; bathroom more than adequate; balcony view of the sea was terrific, especially at sunset. The breakfast was terrific and the staff (family) was the best: Courteous and informative. The rooftop terrace had quite the view of the harbor and the town. Hearing the daily call to prayer from the mosques (daily, not late at night) was so unique. The drive up and down the coast from Kas is one of the most spectacular we've ever taken. This hotel was a short walk to the main harbor area where good meals were to be had and day trips arranged. We'd recommend a sea kayak trip; it was fantastic. But, yes, this hotel was the perfect launching pad for our stop in this part of the turquoise coast.

Room Tip: It's a little more, but worth it, to ask for a room with a balcony view of the ocean.
