The hotel is out on the peninsula - approx 1 hour stroll into Kas (or 10 mins or so on the local bus that goes past every 30 mins). The location is stunning and the waterfront is just to die for. It is very secluded with well positioned sun loungers giving lovely views and privacy. It is a very quiet hotel - perfect for couples or for getting away from it all. The staff were very friendly and there were lots of nice personal touches, including a beach towel and bottle of olive oil to take home. The Swedish massage I had in the spa was amazing. I felt the food was a little on the expensive side.

Room Tip: To be fair, I had the cheapest room and it was perfectly fine - room 106. It was clean and had a ver...

Lovely hotel - and staff treated us as guests rather customers. Rooms comfy, clean, cool and lovely bedding. Towels, sun bed, access to the sea perfect - with plenty of scope for swimming. Really like the poolside bar/restaurant. Pity the food (and most especially the drinks) are soooo.. expensive in the hotel. Would have preferred to eat more often in the hotel but so much less costly in Kas itself - where there are some good places to eat. The charge of 27TL for a large bottle of water in the room was unjustified. But overall a really lovely, very well run hotel. The staff are all very professional and achieve an excellent balance of being on hand to provide information, help etc while fostering a relaxed informal feel. Would like to return.

Love this place. Been coming to Kalkan for years but only 'discovered' this place last year and couldn't stop going back.
Central location next to the lighthouse in the harbour, great for lunch, coffees and snacks or an evening meal. Their spaghetti carbonara is to die for!! Also try their freshly baked waffles made on site as you wait. Mmmm, Nutella on mine please!!
All the locals eat here and it's really good value, but fantastic views of the harbour and ottoman seating to
boot if you fancy it.
Give lighthouse (fenner cafe to the locals) a try, you won't regret it!!

Could not be faulted for the ambiance to allow us to completely relax. Very clean throughout, the staff obviously care about making a good impression, and they do.

We had the superior room 302 - nice room, lovely view, clean with nice amenities. High standard of linen ( better then we have at home anyway). The rain forest showers, though they look lovely, aren't very practical, but that is just my personal preference.

The food was good. But to be honest I expected better. However we were never. Eggs how we wanted them for breakfast was nice. A waterside pide for lunch was also very good. We had a few cocktails - which were more than we usually pay at home, but their strength made up for that.

The pool was nice. We had it to ourselves for almost a full day. The waterside is great. They have beach beds which were an amazing way to spend the day doing nothing.

I thought the staff really does the place credit. Never intrusive, but always prepared to help. The Exclusive Escapes Rep was very good indeed. I never encountered a surly attitude from anyone.

I had a massage which was well above average at a price which was well below UK prices.

The steps didn't bother me, I just took a break at one of the many lovely little alcoves for a swig of water before continuing.

It was for perfect for a wind down. No obligation to do anything but relax.

Room Tip: 302 is a good room if you like being close to the pool.

This was our fourth visit to the Deniz Feneri Lighthouse and it just gets better every time. The hotel is well cared for, the facilities spot on, and the ambience delightful. The hoteliers Gillian and Ozan are welcoming, and the atmosphere relaxed. It's noticeable how many of the staff return each year, and with a higher staff to guest ratio than you'd normally expect, service is professional, friendly and efficient. Dining is a pleasure, I'm reliably informed that the home made baclava is the best in Kas!

We upgraded this time to Yasemin, one of the pool house suites, absolutely fabulous and great if there are more than two of you as there are two full size bedrooms, both of which are en-suite.

Thanks, and we're already planning our next stay!

We went to the Deniz Feneri for dinner one evening as we had passed the hotel earlier and thought it was worth a try as it was close to the hotel on the Kaş Peninsular where we were staying.
As four professional women we are experienced travellers and used to top rate hotels and excellent food and service.
On arrival at the lower deck for dinner ( around 300 steps down ) the staff tried to put us on a table away from all the other diners out in the open and not under cover during what was a spell of inclement weather. They seemed very reluctant to give us a table of our choice even though we had pre booked earlier in the day.
There was a very limited choice on the menu.
The starter of marinated fish was very nice. The mezze dishes were average to poor.
The main courses we ordered, which we expected to be wonderful after the build up we were given, were all tasteless and disappointing. We felt that as a hotel which, we only discovered on arrival, caters only for English clientele that the food was "dumbed down", rather than encompassing the exotic herbs, spices and flavours used in Authentic Turkish cuisine. When I am in Turkey I want to eat the food of the country as it is so delicious not what a restaurant thinks I want because of my nationality.
The staff were condescending and even though we are of a certain age we all felt as if we were in some sort of " meat market". The waiters kept coming and sitting by our table and trying to engage us in conversation which we found extremely rude while we were eating our meal.
We are friendly, engaging and courteous at the best of times but you do not expect this behaviour from staff of a hotel promoting itself as being exclusive. It became very annoying, particularly as one waiter was obviously talking a complete load of drivel !
The meal was the most expensive during our time in Kaş and the worst. I have no problem with prices if the food matches up to the cost but I would not recommend a visit here.
Our disappointment made the 300 step climb back to the road even harder to bear !

Professional setting and good service. The sea has not been very welcoming due to high winds. The road was really too steep for a late arrival.

You may wish to choose hotels that are near the Kas village before the sea gets really warm.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
This contemporary waterfront hotel has sweeping coastal views and awe-inspiring sunsets which reflect off the water. It has an intricate design of natural stone buildings with paths leading from the reception area through a series of pretty terraces - past several pools, garden terraces and impressive palm trees - to either the Waterfront Suites above or to the extensive private waterfront below. At a glance, the cool combination of natural stone with red roof tiles creates the impression of a mediaeval-style village - but Deniz Feneri is rather more up to the minute than that. Thanks to the considerable efforts of owners, Gillian and Ozan, the contemporary boutique hotel offers one of the finest places to relax and unwind in coastal Turkey.
