“Needs a facelift”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2011

Very tired hotel and rooms far too small for more than 2 people. Pool is in a bad state and so is the area surrounding the pool. Breakfast was great. Tiny balcony. Was in a good location. Bed was terrible no comfort at all. Bathroom tiny. Was clean.

We were 3 friends on holiday at this hotel. Ekici is a nice and friendly hotel, location is fantastic, just at the heart of Kas.But at the same moment - the place is very quiet, Nice garden, swimmingpool, very friendly personal. We would like to recommend this hotel to others and will come again to this place.

We stayed at the Ekici in September and didnt expect much as it was very cheap and thats just what we got.Small room but they all are in Kas but clean . Breakfast the same as any where else.
there was no service by the pool but the family and friends of ther hotel were getting served with food and drinks
It is a family run hotel and there are young childred belonging to them and they treat the pool area as there own, they are very noisey and thats an understatement, once they went back to scool on the 18th September it was a lot better.

I dont think the staff apart from the cleaners ever smiled they made you feel that they didnt want you there.

The breakfast was some times a problem one morning they ran out of butter another they ran out of milk and all as they said was finished.

Over all if you are useing it as a base and are not there much and your expectations are low its ok as its central.

Room Tip: Iif you wanrt more room book a family room as they dont cost much more and you have 2 rooms

I stayed at Ekici hotel in Kas in September 2011.
The location is handy, just a few minutes walk to the town center and the harbor, but
on a cautionary note, it is uphill, so it might be a little strenous for some people.
I especially enjoyed the small balcony that was well equipped with 2 plastic chairs, a small table and a handy drying rack.
The breakfast is standard (hard boiled egg, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, tea and coffee, with a surprising addition: halva), the staff polite on a sliding scale, depending on the tip, like everywhere else.
The hotel has a nice pool and garden.
The hotel also provide luggage storage for those who leave town later in the day.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Ekici, also due to the fantastic room rate I got through an TravelRepublic online (single occupancy in double room for a mere $11!!!)

Here for an activity holiday with my family.
Good points, staff very pleasant and helpful, good location, pool always clean, smart reception area, good breakfast, nice restaurant, air con worked if noisy, shower worked well, rooms kept clean.
Bad points, apparently they still aren't keen on you taking water to the room which is daft if you are on an activity holiday and need water with you for early morning starts, the rooms are fairly small and there isn't much storage space for 2 people and their luggage. The bedrooms don't make you want to spend much time in them. Also the drinks are quite expensive, OK so are the drinks in some other hotels locally but we would have had more drinks on the nice patio area above the pool had they been cheaper, as there were cheaper places in town that were still nice.
There was free wifi in reception area only. A pay for use computer would have been handy in reception.

We stayed at the Ekici Hotel through ActivitiesAbroad, with whom we had booked a "Teen Family\Solo parent" holiday. The group consisted of 23 people, with teens ranging from 12 to 17 years old, and a mix of single & couple families. The acitivities and atmosphere provided by ActivitiesAbroad was excellent, we would definitely travel with them again. Their guides were very good, with excellent local knowledge.

The hotel provided a good meeting place, it was well located and the children loved the pool. Having read feedback on the hotel before traveling we knew that the rooms may not be equiv. to a 5star hotel, so our expectations were already set. They were clean and the bedding and towels were changed regularly, which made up for the lack of space. As we didn't spend very long in the rooms, the space didn't cause us any concerns. The breakfast was more or less the traditional continental breakfast of cheese (local), meat, bread & olives. You need to learn how to make the tea correctly!

Kas is a pretty town, that remains fairly unspoilt. There is a good choice of restaurants, and the locals are friendly. It felt very safe, to the extent that we let our teenagers roam around together in the evening.

Room Tip: We had a triple room, which consisted of a double bed and two singles. It was a good size for a fam...

We stayed at the Ekici again this year in August with an activity holiday company. The improvement over last years poor service was evident and this was welcomed. The hotel has all the facilities you need and the breakfast buffet is fine. The location is great and our room was a good size with great air con. The reason why this is only an average score is that the decor is brown drab and tired. there are scuffs on the walls and carpets could do with cleaning or replacing. he other gripe is that thepool side bar was only opened when we were leaving and the Turkish holiday started.
