Stayed for one week and cannot fault the staff especially the cleaners. The hotel was spotless and the spa was excellent. The food at the beginning of the week was slightly limited but as the hotel filled up the choice became wider. The salad and fruit selection was very diverse and always fresh. This hotel is geared up for people with more adventurous tastes ie no chips or pizza which suited us fine. The Italian al a carte was fantastic only downside drinks are extra. We found the location ok and enjoyed a little walk to the beach but the shops are on your doorstep. Be careful of spice market as they do try to rip you off and then get abusive if you refuse!! In saying that we found the area to be very laid back and not pushy in comparison to other parts of Turkey. This is a great location for people with walking difficulties as there are no hills at all.
Only downside is the proximity to the mosque as the call to prayer is at 4.30 am. This resulted in not one unbroken nights sleep. I understand this is the culture but by day 7 we were both very tired!!! In saying that It did not spoil our holiday but we would be reluctant to return for that reason only. This is a shame as for the price we paid I cannot fault the hotel or it's staff in any way. Be careful not to lose your towels or towel cards as they understandably have a strict policy. Please talk to lady on guest relations as she is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Also red and white wine is ok but limited spirits.

Thank you for your good review!
I am happy to hear that I could help you with all your concerns. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel and I will share your review with the staff. Unfortunately I cannot change the volume down at the mosque and eighter their times, as you already mentioned it belongs to the Turkish culture, but I really hope this will not discourage you from a second stay with us.

As Viking Star Hotel team we will be looking forward for your next arrival.

We arrived at around 2300 only to be told the room plumbing was broken and as it was Saturday it could not be fixed until Monday. We were put in a taxi and sent to the Vikings sister hotel a three star (as rated by trip advisor) and told it had the same facilities and so not to be concerned.

We arrived to a small family room with dangerous electric connection in the bathroom and poorly repaired fixtures and fittings. We woke the next day to find the hotel had virtutually none of the facilities we had paid for and the only solution was to continually take taxi rides between the hotels if we wanted to use all the additions we had paid for.

After two days we demanded early access to our originally booked room and were given transport to the hotel. On arrival we were met by the receptionist who offered us our some what disappointing compensation. We were offered a bottle of wine (we were given a half bottle, it was undrinkable) a second night in the a Le carte restaurant (The food was an attempt at Italian but was very poor, all the alcohol was chargeable (we couldn't bring our gift bottle with us) and was £25 for a half bottle of revolting wine), a free safe key and a fruit selection for the room (an apple an orange three sour fruits and a peach; all available in the restaurant at all times and the next door market had some of the best fruit I've ever eaten for very little money).

We suggested that this wasn't adequate and so negotiated a massage and were asked to sign to say that we were happy and basically wouldn't be able to complain to the travel agent. Obviously if we knew about the bracketed problems above we would have never agreed or signed.

The rest of the stay was good and I have no other issues but as stated in the title, after staying in many five star hotels across the world this hotel just did not match up to its 5 star claim. Just to reiterate this we asked for lunch to be provided on our departure (as stated in the hotel literature) as we were offered a late check out but could not take up the offer as we were departing early and were told 'The restaurant is open for breakfast we don't offer lunch'. That in my opinion is not five star service!

Other than the above problems the hotel was well equiped, the food in the main restaurant was good, the entertainment was well arranged and the staff were happy and helpful. But don't expect 5 or possibly even 4 star service.

Room Tip: End of the u shape looking at the mountains.

Excellent Choice of food. 5 mins walk from all the shops and Bazaars. nice pool, excellent staff.

AI Drinks a bit limited, no cocktails only soft drinks, beer and wine.
The Mosque is very close to the hotel and can wake you with a startle at 5am every morning.
30 mins walk to the beach but there is a free shuttle.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are the best with an excellent sunset view every evening.

Nice, clean hotel with good food and friendly staff, minimum disruption from nearby mosque.

We arrived after 1 am due to air traffic control strike and were very pleased and surprised to be offered a snack meal in the dining room.

The Turkish folk night was excellent entertainment, as was the belly dancer and the kitchen and waiting staff joined in the dancing on gala night with gusto.

Plenty of sun beds and parasols, although the latter may be in short supply when the weather gets hotter.

We stayed in room 117, which overlooks the pool. Good room but because the shower enclosure is on the bath side it makes it very difficult to get in and out of the bath, due to the added height.

On behalf of Viking Star Hotel I would like to thank you for your good review.
I also thank you for the amendment concerning the bathtub. We have small steps for the bathtubs, these make the entry into the bathtub much easier. I would love to offer you one of them during your next stay with us at the Viking Star Hotel.

The entire Viking Star Hotel team is looking forward for your next arrival.

i was dubious about visiting Turkey but so glad i took the plunge, My Husband and I had 10 glorious days in Kemer at the Viking Star Hotel 5 Star all the way. The waiting staff were extremely polite and friendly . in fact all the staff were extremely polite and friendly. We did not feel the need to leave the hotel. The entertainments team IE: Emir , Victoria and the rest of the team need a special mention as they interacted well with clientele . The hotel, room were cleaned to the highest standards. I am a fussy eater but i have no complaints the food was lovely and high class. We will be booking for next year definitely.

Another super holiday in the Viking Star, Many thanks to all the wonderful staff who really make the holiday special with kindness and helpfulness. This was our 10 visit and what a surprise we were presented with a beautiful plaque just for enjoying our selves. How nice to be made to feel really special. Once again the food and the service we received was as always the very best, they are really on top of the game when it comes to making sure that we enjoy our holiday.
so once again thank you all and hope to see you all soon.

Room Tip: rooms looking over to the mountians are our favourite.

Me and my lady arrived to hotel around midnight just to learn there is an issue with toiltes in some rooms (including ours) and we cannot stay there tonight. We've been moved to the Viking nona beach hotel (4*) for a day and a half, and after that we came back to viking star. They have been very proffesional and offered better room, safe box, wine and some fruits to apologize for situation. So we were pleased. Food was fantastic and in huge variaty! We would reccomend stay there.

Room Tip: Pool view! Provides perfect view on the mountains!
