The hotel is not bad, is older, but maintained. Nice pools. Great entertainment for kids. The food is poor, but adequate (4 star turkish hotel). If you like fish and cheese, you will be satisfied. For each lunch and each dinner they prepare one kind of fish (grilled or baked). But ice cream they served only once a week. Be ready for a large number of Russian tourists, they think it is a competition who can eat most food (or take most food on the plate). Good value for the money that i paid for the vacation.

I am not going to go on about this but a very simple and to the point review. The hotel, the location, the rooms and other facilities were all acceptable (not great mind, acceptable). If you are looking for a luxury All Inclusive resort, you will be very disappointed.
We visited the resort during the last two weeks in August 2011 with my wife and two kids.

Firstly the things we liked:
- Air conditioning in rooms worked 24/7. Seems to be a bonus in Turkey as some resorts turn these off from main switch in some places. In 40degrees+ you need Air Con. This was very pleasant.
- Hotel and surroundings were very clean and presentable. Pretty too. Nice pools for all ages, private beach for hotel guests. All very nice.
- Meals. Most meals were nice as long as they didn't involve red meat. Traditional Turkish dishes, lovely. I will cover meat on the dislikes.
- Childrens entertainment was very good too. Always something to do for them.

Now to the things we were disappointed with (in order of importance to us):

- Friendliness. Non existent apart from a few individuals who we tipped accordingly. All Bar and Reception staff always looked like someone had died. Not a single smile. Miserable as sin as they say. We know it's all inclusive but hey that doesn't mean you throw the drink in my face ! Big let down. I am of Turkish origin myself, these people give my country a bad name. What happened to warm turkish tradition ?

- Meat during meals. Well, it's turkey (as in the bird) and erm, turkey again, and yes, turkey with bone in it. Oh yes turkey without bone. turkey on the grill. You get the message. Most red meat tasted like that Vegetarian meat, some of you will know what I am on about. Like 5% meat content. Hang on, this is Turkey, the land of Kebabs. Dream on. It felt like Christmas in the UK for two weeks. As you can imagine with no other restaurant near by we were disappointed as we didn't get to eat real Turkish food. I gather meat is expensive in Turkey at the moment. Hardly my problem.

I guess that's it, the guests were made up from Russians and Germans. We were the only Brits. We only went there to meet my parents who travelled from Germany.

Thanks for reading.

I've checked all the reviews on different portal about this hotel before visit to Barbarros. But it seems that this summer something went wrong.
First of all poor selection of food both on cold and hot buffet. Evening grill is always subject to a great queue and staff member will issue you a portion of grilled food (small one, of course)
It was a normal situation when there was a lack of cups, spoons, bowls in the breakfast. Glassware were always dirty. Only 1 cook attended the egg station during the breakfast, so the service was very slow. During 10 breakfasts we had, only twice we've seen a pancakes.
Be ready to fight the flies during your meal, there was an army of flies

Rooms are small (we lived in bungalow), but clean enough, again there were a lot of mosquitos and ants in the room. Towels were very old.

Beach is spacious, there were always enough space, but please do not forget your special shoes, there are pebbles.

This is a family oriented hotel so do not expect a super disco during the evening programm. Animation staff very friendly and multi language speaking (For example f&B staff was not able to understood that we want to have a boiled egg during the lunch, even if their name-badge contains English and Russian markers, we tried both languages but failed. Only after a small show and association games we managed to explain our need)

The pool is dangerous for a small kids, my son got serious stomach desease because of few drops of the pool water, so we spent a day in the hospital. As local doctor commented this kind of health problems are common for most of the hotels around

In general it was not the best experience in Turkey.
