We have just returned from 7 days at the royal dragon side.
The hotel & rooms are too a very high standard. Different variety of food each night too much to choose from.
The only negative is the whole area of side is catered for Germans first then the English all the shops advertise in euros.
This was the first time for us in Turkey & we will definitely be back again lovely & clean country.
A few tips if you fancy having a turkish bath & massage do not use the spa at the hotel go to the spa ouside the main gates to the right it's less than half the price.
We also went to magavat to the markets instead of using a organised trip that costs €15 each walk to the main rd & get the bus for 3 tl each they arrive every 5 mins.

We've just got back from a 2 week stay here last night and can't wait to go back next year! The hotel itself is beautiful as are the grounds and the beach. The staff are all very friendly & welcoming and go out of their way to help you. We had no problems ever getting served which we had read complaints of on here before we went. The food was lovely and it was great that my kids got to try a bit of everything other than the usual processed rubbish that is usually classed as children's food (although this is also available). The Chinese & Italian a la carte restaurants were really good and we found the restaurant at the beach best for lunch.

The mini club & mini disco were fantastic. My daughter Lucy loved it even though she's only 2 and they did their upmost to try & please my son Henry despite his clinginess. The way they switch between languages to speak to all the different nationalities was truly amazing. The equipment they have is really good & when it rained they moved to an inside area which was also well equipped and spotless. The T shirt painting was great & has given them a souvenir of he mini club to keep for a long time.

The Luna & Aqua parks were also great fun, spotless and staffed by friendly helpful people.

I had a massage in the spa which was really good but I was annoyed by the "hard sell" to try and get me to have another three massages for €150.00 during our stay.

The only downsides we had really were the lack of an iron to borrow. Given that there is also very limited hanging space we ended up sending some of my husband's shirts and trousers to be pressed. The average cost of this is €5 an item so it is a pain. We tried to buy an iron outside & smuggle it in but couldn't find one. Also we had a duplex room and the top floor got too hot at times but the air conditioning hadn't been switched on yet. I don't know how hot it has to get for them to do this (we did mention it and we're told our comments would be passed on to the manager but nothing happened).

As for the Germans, yes there are a lot of people of different nationalities but I see that as a positive thing that my children get to mix with different people & nobody was rude to us. Perhaps that's because we weren't rude to them? Surely if you want to be surrounded by English people you should go to Blackpool? the saving of sun beds was certainly a lot less of a problem than we've experiencied in other countries.

All in all I can't say we've had anything but a fantastic, relaxing time and you should definitely go on holiday here!

Please don't book to come here if you are English !! Why this hotel is advertised for the English guest is beyond me ! The hotel only really caters for German guests ?
The hotel itself is beautiful and is huge !
The waterpark and fair ground is awesome but what I can't understand is why old German people would come to a aqua mania resort ?
Our boys are finding it difficult because of the lack of English kids to play with so this is a problem ?
We went to riveria hotel in Tunisia and it was leaps and bounds above the royal dragon, will not be coming back here again !!!
We have another 12 days here and hope the weather is good as with no TV for English and very poor activities (unless German) we will have 2 very frustrated children !

Room Tip: Duplex rooms are beautiful

Just got back from a week here and i have no complaints at all... the food was excellent pools were fabulous beach was awesome great holiday.. only thing ide say to someone going is to bring a travel iron because they dont give you one there and they forbid you to bring one.. the charge is 5 euro per t shirt ironed and 10 euro for a dress so bring your own and hide it in a suitcase or in the safe because they will take it off you if you find it.. and go to the water park straight away because we went on last two days and it was by far the best pool for kids and for myself its a mint park..

Just back from the Royal Dragon and we had a fantastic week! This hotel is absolutely enormous! The photos I have taken don't really convey just how enormous it is! Can only agree with other reviewers, the rooms, pools, food etc., all top class. The entertainment was indeed mostly aimed at German guests but hardly surprising as they made up 90% of visitors. The only very small negative was the lack of English speaking channels on the TV's in room (again probably because not many British guests), we don't go on holiday to watch TV but as the entertainment wasn't to our taste we spent a fair amount of the evening in our beautiful room and there were only 4 channels to watch, 3 news ones and 1 music one with a Russian host! Also tip about wifi, there is free internet access al around the hotel, which has an erratic signal but ok for me, but you can only register 1 device for this free service, I had already registered my phone and then could not use free service on my tablet. There is a chargeable service but I didn't use it.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. I had a wonderful time and everybody was so lovely. the food was absolutely delicious and there were so many varieties.

All the managers treated us very lovely. The beach was just walking distance from the hotel and the cleaners came everyday to clean the rooms.

There were a lot of german tourist there and unfortunately most of the entertainment was in german. However do you do not let the spoil your experience. I would definitely visit again. There is a lovely shopping centre across the hotel where you can get on your essential and pharmaceutical stuff as well as lovely handbags and souvenirs.

The spot in the hotel is very expensive i would advise anyone going to the hotel to go to the spa cross the road and the prices are usually half of what in the hotel spa and note the all the prices are in Euros and not in turkish lira.

Overall a very lovely experience and would definitely visit again.

After reading almost every review for this hotel before we went, we had mixed feelings about what to expect. All I can say is to ignore the negatives and focus on the positive reviews for this stunning hotel. Admittedly we did go at a quiet time of year, just as the season was about to start so we probably had the most attentive service, it was impeccable to be honest, from the friendly greeting at reception and swift movement to our rooms (after being brought some well deserved cocktails following a long day of travelling), right through to our last day when told that we were free to enjoy the full hotel facilities including food and drink after we had checked out until we were picked up by taxi. The food was great, not an hour of the day passed that there wasn't something different to choose from, catering for all tastes. We missed breakfast most days but by 12 midday there were several food choices available. The beach restaurant opened about three days before we left and we then ate there every lunch time - slightly confusing as its part buffet and part waiter service, but we soon realised what needed to be ordered and from who.

As for the bars, these are all waiter service, just find yourself a comfy sofa and a waiter will be over immediately, they soon memorise what your tipple is and as soon as your drinks finished they are back for a refill. We forgot to take money with us for tips for several nights and the waiters do move around to different areas so if you're particularly happy with a certain waiter a few euros tip doesn't go un noticed, although its certainly not expected. The Turkish chefs were really proud of their creative desserts and show dishes, they also looked magnificent in their chef uniforms and tall hats. The hotel was spotless and the pools and poolside areas were immaculate, I saw cleaners around the area at 5am! The entertainments team (Rober still has my English teabags!) weren't too pushy and tried to involve everyone if they wanted to, they do work long hours and are always smiling.

A lot of comments on here about not being acknowledged if you are English, we found that yes, the staff spoke more German than English so naturally would speak to the Germans more, however, we felt that they tried their hardest to engage in conversations with us, maybe us Brits should learn a bit of Turkish before we go? The Brits were a definite minority at this hotel, but we went for a holiday together, not to eat and drink with others all week so it didn't bother us in the slightest.

Would we go back? Absolutely.

Room Tip: I cheekily emailed the hotel a few weeks before arrival and asked for a pool view - got one and it w...
