This hotel wa given to us as a second option as there was a problem with the travel agency but when we saw it was 5 star we expected it to include everything. We found that hardly anyone spoke English (they all spoke German) and those who did often didn't work at the front desk, they worked in the kitchens and in delivery, which it very hard to ask for anything even for simple soft drinks. I would expect those who knew the language would be put at the front to help guests.f

The decor was a very disgusting shade of brown and looked extremely worn and not very appealing and I expected more from a 5 star hotel. l though the toilets in the lobby were very nice. Another annoying aspect was that you had to ask for the soft drinks and even then they could not understand simple "Sprite" or "Cola".

The food was okay and the they did have themed nights. Ofn Tuesday they had a Traditional Turkish night where there was turkish music and food like Baklava and Kadayif (I have tried both and they weren't very good, I expected a lot more considering it was made by Turkish people). They also had a Sushi night (but don't expect high class sushi). Dinner on the other days was very poor and repetitious and not a lot for people who have dietary needs like Gluten frear lee as nothing was labeled. Breakfast was the best meal of the day by far.

The beach was very nice quiet but they pushed you get off at 5 which was annoying but it had an on site water sport company which offered lots of activities. We did Parasailing which is a must! But you do have to pay for the photos that are taken on the boat and there is a video recording you so no swearing! I would suggest not taking the camera because it will get wet on the speed boat. Also you do not get very wet on the actual activity but on the speed boat so be careful. There is also a boat tour on the are right on the beach but you must book that before and its very good they speak both German and English but you do have to pay for the drinks so take your own.

The food at the beach was minimal but enough, they had simple chips, meat, fish and salads. Although they left some of the food out and the bits in the fridge were not cold. The area was not very covered and you risked sweating in to your food. After dinner they offered ice-cream and petulla and an old lady offered pide.

The rooms were an okay size, lots of clothing space but again brown. they had a mini fridge which worked fine but only had water in it. We had two AC's of which only one worked. I suggest leaving the AC on all day so you come back to a cool room. An instead of using the safe we put our valuables in a suitcase and locked it and took the keys with us.

On s very serious note we did witness one of the girls at the hotel going off with a man who was 28 and she had the childrens bracelet on and none of the staff stopped her. Also there we two girls of about 13 smoking at the front and none of the staff said anything to either girl although they walked past several times.

Just returned from 12 nights at the Sultan of Side Hotel in Evrenseki.

On arrival, the Hotel was still closed for refurbishment - but the Reception Manager was onsite and quickly assured me alternative arrangements for 2 nights were in place and took me personally to the other hotel (Other hotel was ok too :) )

Two days later returned to the Sultan - and all I can say is wow - just such a lovely time - yes people will moan about something but overall lovely hotel - better than average food, great staff!

I was I think the only English person there and as a lone traveller still managed to integrate with other guests and make conversation and some great friends. Only down side was one guy (German) who seemed to follow me - Iago the Animation Manager made sure I was safe :) Thanks Iago.....

Waiters very attentive but in a nice way, both in the restaurant, lobby, pool bar and disco (Nihmet & Mustafa) & the girls who wait the lobby in an evening I miss you!!! Always checking I was ok

Room was lovely - very spacious and comfortable.

Hotel has an indoor pool, Sauna, steam room (all free) and a spa/turkish bath definitely worth checking out.

A short walk from the hotel you will find the "promenade" what a lovely place to pass some time and work off some of the indulgences!!! if you walk left you go to KumKoy and to the right is Colakli - both places worth a visit for shopping.

Other places of interest - very easily accessible by the local Dolmus (bus) is Side and Managvat. Side just walk around and enjoy the ruins and then experience the vast bazaar. Managvat is more of a town with a huge river/estuary but offers boat trips to both the waterfalls or to the sea!! both worth seeing. Plenty of shops and places to eat.

Also, if you walk out of the hotel to the right from the reception you will find the Dolmus station and trips. I booked a trip to the Haman for 20 Euros well worth it - fantastic experience. But if you walk to the main road behind the hotel you will find Armoni Massagee - which offered a range of massages for very very reasonable prices! But the staff there are some of the nicest I met and I felt so comfortable - Omur and his staff are lovely - even had a conversation with them about football....

Quite a lot of building work I think across Antayla I think at the moment you will notice the dust etc from this but it doesn't affect the overall holiday.

Very early in the season but the weather was relatively good.

Would really recommend this hotel and resort.

the sultan of side is a good quality, well presented hotel.not to the same standard as some of the more luxurious 5* hotels in the area, but at less than half the price for all-inclusive accomodation, offers exceptional value.a steady 5 minute walk takes you to the beach, where you will find the sultan's own beach area with sunloungers and the beach restaurant bar, complete with the all-inclusive benefits of the hotel.50 yards from the hotel you will find the dolmus station for transport into side and manavgat.i took on board some remarks made in other reviews.the hotel is indeed predominantly german.this was not an issue as we found the german guests to be both friendly and polite, and many of whom spoke good english.the highlight of this hotel must be the staff.friendly, efficient and hard working, they deserve 5* plus.and i must add, many of them spoke good english,so never any communication issues.a very enjoyable stay and we would be more than happy to revisit.

Room Tip: we asked for a low floor which was allocated upon arrival.a ground floor room with patio and nice ga...

My daughter and I and grandson have just come back from this hotel, we had one of the bungalows which were fine, the air conditioning kept failing and you really needed this at nightime but the engineers did come out quickly enough to fix it.What did make us unhappy was the fact that we were the only english in this hotel, there was nothing at all in english the entertainment was all in german so we didnt bother going to any evening activity and of course my grandson could not join any of the water activities as everything was spoken in german and he tried to speak to someone but was ignored due to the language barrier. The receptionists didnt speak any english which made it very difficult asking for directions to anywhere. Food was good plenty of it and desserts to die for but very samey, you started to get fed up as the week went on. You certainly didnt need to take Lira to this country as all they wanted was the euro and when you try to pay in lira you cant be sure if you are getting conned as they use the calculator and it always seemed more money to me anyway. It was lovely on the beach not so crowded and about 10 mins walk away. The drinks were ok but not very cold and believe me at this time of year you need to drink plenty unless you have a beer and they are cold of course. Would I stay here again no! I think we should of been told by the travel agent that this hotel is mainly used by other countries and if you have children they like to mix with other kids on holiday and this wasnt possible for my grandson. The hotel overall was ok but very dissapointed that we couldnt watch and understand any of the entertainment. Would return to Turkey but not in this area. Hope this has been of help to anyone that is going.

Room Tip: The bungalows are nice about 20 of them all joined together and quite quiet, the hotel was very busy...

great rooms, especially the family rooms, never seen before. free drinks until midnight, but starting at 23:30h, the bartenders wanted to give only 1 drink, even if you're sitting on a table with the hole family. So once 23:30 h, you are drinking on your own, watched by your family members. In the restaurant, there are no refrigerator. The meat ,cheese and other food are sweating...... The minibar in the rooms contain only two bottles of water, and most minibars have a problem with the cooling.... For my, this isn't absolutely a minibar. The rooms are clean and the personal is friendly. The swimming pool needs to be refreshed. little stones are coming off. These hotel have 5 stars, but it's only 3 and half worth....

Room Tip: there are rooms near to the disco, there are good for young people. Some rooms on top of the hotel...
