We have just returned from this hotel. It was a lovely hotel but in need of updating which is planned for this year but considering its 16 years old has been well looked after. The staff were hit and miss some waiters were very attentive our frustrations were having to wait at breakfast for your tea and coffee which usually came after you had eaten not really what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The food however was lovely plenty to choose from and a good selection for children. The pools were clean and safe the middle pool a good depth for young children. The hotel was well catered for wheelchairs flat with good ramp accessibility around the pools and onto the beach. The rooms were basic and like many others when we arrived we were told that our room we had booked would be ready in 2 days leaving us in a room with know balcony and 2 children. Not a great way to start as it was frustrating not being able to unpack. However I cannot complain as the room we were given when we moved was beautiful and very much 5 star. It had the best view of the beach and pools plenty of room for 4 of us which made the move worth it. If you want luxury make sure you ask for rooms in R2 these seem to be much better. The animation team were lovely and did not push you to join in. The shows were great and very much family orientated. Now onto the bug alot of people had issues and nearly every day you heard someone say they had had it or had been in hospital. To be honest I don't think it was the food all the staff had gloves on and were quick to tidy up. I think it was unfortunate for the hotel that perhaps it was brought in and passed on. Thank fully we were not ill but having learnt about it I perhaps did not enjoy my stay as much as it was always at the back of your mind. We were therefore careful at meal times and just used our toilet in our hotel room. It was not as bad as it was made out to be. You have to remember it was hitting 48 degrees that mixed with over indulging and alcohol is not going to make you feel great. Yes there was a phew mishaps in the pools but I agree with others why swim if you are unwell!!! but at least they shut the pool down and cleaned it and did not re open it until the following day. I must also point out that the outside area was scrubbed every evening. Be careful though as the area around the pools can be very slippery when wet. Sun beds! I said I would not do it but you learn quickly here if you can't beat them join them and yes I was up at 6am just to ensure I could see the kids in the pool. I believe they are planning to change this next year but don't panic there are plenty if beds on the beach. Take swim shoes the sand is very hot and there are rocks in the sea which can cut your feet further out I was glad I packed mine. On the whole we had a good holiday would I return? I don't think so it's just missing the little extras for me having stayed at a 5 star in Greece and having had a more personal service with waiters looking after you at the pool and beach it doesn't quite compare. But if your looking for a good family holiday with nice pools and a good beach I would recommend. It's not for those expecting a true 5 star experience if you come with high expectations I think you would be a little disappointed. I will however return to Turkey it's a beautiful country with so much to see and do.
