“Cozy small pansion”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Really good value for money. We paid 75 lira per night and have got nice room with balcony, seaside view, breakfast in the garden. Parking is located in 100 m from the hotel near the ancient ruins (costs 5 lira per night). Beach, ancient city and great number of restaurants and shops - are quite near.

I stayed in Belen just for 2 nights. Arrived at sunrise and got my room right away. It is a 2 storey wooden cabin with big balconies and comfortable bathrooms. Not sure how many rooms it has, definitely a small and cosy place and the landlord lives there. Breakfast served amid flowerbeds and blooming trees. AC worked well enough and I never run out of hot water. The location can not be better - waterfront and beach 1 minute away, shops and restaurants right around the corner yet one does not hear the noise. It was a pleasant relaxing break after a long travel and I do not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Go to Side in spring or autumn to see the beauty of the village and beach.

We found this lovely little otel about 20 m from the steps to the beach in Side as we had been very disappointed with our original hotel booking and were looking for an alternative place to stay. The only reason we have not given this hotel a 5 is because we do not want to give the impression it is overly luxurious - it is just very authentic and comfortable and you were made to feel as if you were a welcome guest in someone's home although you had plenty of your own space. Although the room is cosy, you had a generous sized balcony, comfortable beds and a lovely sea view and breeze and you got to know the locals. The area is all pedestrianised but car park about 20 metres away. All the guests were Turkish which made the stay even more authentic. Metin the owner speaks some English and with our limited turkish and phrasebook we got on well. Metin provided great advice eg restaurants - he even offered us a lift to the bus station in the next town when we were going on a day trip as he was heading into town to shop. Water was sold cold from the fridge at the bar at supermarket prices. Metin also kindly let us bring wine purchased elsewhere onto the premises even providing glasses as he only served other types of alcohol. The area is also quiet but close to shopping and restaurants and of course all the ruins and the sea. Breakfast was served in lovely peaceful garden area and always included an egg, tomatoes etc but different fresh bread or rolls obtained each day from the bakery and lovely watermelon. Small market a few steps away.
