“Excellent location, but many other negative things considering hotel and hotel room.”
Reviewed 4 November 2013 via mobile

We stayed in Yali one week in August. First the good things: location is perfect in heart of Sides old town, near to everything and view from balcony was amazing. Room was clean and bed was ok.
And then the negative things: in the room there was holes in wall and for example in the bathroom you could see the electricity cables near to shower. You couldn't bring your own food etc to room because of "international tools" and the restaurant was really expensive. Breakfast could have been ok, if everything would have not been in warm!! Warm milk, meat, cheese and everything. Only we could eat was boiled eggs and bread. And juice and yogurt paid extra.
We wanted to pay the AC and safety box (about 70 euro per week) but they did not accept Visa, only cash.
The "beach" was difficult to walk because of really sharp rocks, so have to recommend fins or other shoes suitable for swimming.

We spent 14 nights at this Hotel in September. We found it very clean and staff very nice.
Breakfast was very good, typical Turkish breakfast with plenty of choice.
The view from our balcony was marvellous, looking across the sea.
It is very well situated for the beach, restaurants, shops and bars. This Hotel is in the old part of Side which is great, the only part I would consider staying as we would not stay in the larger modern part with all the huge all inclusive Hotels with no character. The Yali is just a short walk from the Temple of Apollo.

Room Tip: The corner rooms upstairs have best sea view and large L shaped balcony.

We spent 8 nights at this hotel from 22-30 April this year and were very happy with everything. The prices are very reasonable and the rooms are simple so if you want a very modern hotel and staff running round after you then look elsewhere. But if you want to have unimpeded views of the sea in all directions,a pleasant laid-back owner who let's you do your own thing, peace and quiet at all times of the day, loads of small restaurants to choose from and, best of all,the vast 2000 year old site of Side with it's huge sandy beach a short walk away then this is the place for you. We've been to Side several times and this is the nicest and most reasonably priced hotel we've found. We had a room on the top floor with windows on 2 sides and a large wrap- around balcony. We happened to be the only 2 guests at the time because it was early in the season and therefore very quiet in the hotel itself. We'll definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone who wants a small local hotel in a perfect setting and isn't too fussy about decor and frills

Room Tip: The corner rooms on the second and third floors have the best views. It's a small hotel so there...

Situated at the very tip of Side, - in the middle of the old city, but also with a beautiful view over the ocean, cool breeze even on the hottest day, close to the old temple ruins, this makes the best choise for adults in Side. Not far from a small beach, but lack of access to beach direct from the hotel may make it a choise for adults only. Swimming pool is very small, but there are stairs from the cliffs into the ocean, for swimming.
Rooms are simple, some are very small, but clean, and with a balcony. Service is very friendly. Breakfast is ok, but lunch and dinner is not good enough.

The location is very convenient. Beach is at your door step and the ancient city ruins are scattered near by with easy walking distance. The breakfast provided minimal. The rooms are decent sized and are fairly clean. The female staff member is very helpful. Nice quiet atmoshphere

This was supposed to be a middle class hotel according to Fritidsresor - travel agency in Sweden. The pictures looked very nice and the description of the hotel sounded okey. The room we got was worn down, broken window glas, had´nt been remodeled since it was bulit or at least not by a professional. The hotel charge you extra for A/C (7 euro/day) and if you want to use the safe deposit box in the room its 3 euro/day. Breakfast is very poor, 1 euro extra if you want juice and also another euro if you would like a small box of yoghurt.
There is a very small pool area - and you will find some sunbeds on the cliffs just below the hotel. Of cause it´s nice to have the access to the ocean, but the hotel does´nt care to keep the small area fresh. As we were having a very late flight on the day of our departure we asked if we could have a day room or at least if it would be possible to take a shower after the beach and change before leaving to the airport. The hotel offered us a room between 12 am and 6 pm for 38 euro. Sorry but the feeling with this hotel is that they do not care for their guests, they are only out for the money - so one time is enough!

Yali Hotel is situated right along the coastline with the bazar area of old town Side in front of the hotel. My husband and I were at this hotel two years ago and even then it was not in mint condition. This time around is not better. It would seem that the owner does not channel enough money back in to the hotel, for renovation of the rooms and common areas. The paint was chipping of in several places and our showerdoor had come off its hinges. But one thing have not changed. Ilyas and Sebnem are both extremely lovable. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and nothing is ever a problem. Sebnem always has a smile on her pretty face. The hotel cook is also very good. We ate lunch at the hotel, excellent omelets, and well seasoned casseroles and salads. I still like Yali Hotel for its view and the direct access to the ocean but Sebnem and Ilyas are the true "stars" of the hotel.
