Brilliant little budget hotel right in the center of Side.16 rooms all facing the sea - upper floors have the best view.Everything is kept spotless and the staff are excellent. Deck area with direct access to the sea but can be a bit rocky underfoot. Breakfast is standard continental but more than adequate and there is a nice terrace where you can eat overlooking the sea. We ate out for other meals and the multitude of restaurants are excellent and good value if you stay away from the Harbour and main street. Nice bar on the streetside with good views of the square. One of the beauties of Side is that entrance to it is barrier controlled so virtually traffic free but there are a lot of people. If you love shopping, history and eating then this is the place to go. We hired a car and did a bit of travelling which was certainly an interesting experience - not for the faint hearted. I don't think I could have done it without the Sat Nav.

Room Tip: First floor for better views and to avoid people walking past your balcony.

Right in the middle of Side, this small hotel is a real gem. Ask the hotel to arrange airport transfers because some transfer companies have trouble finding it. The bar is a lively place with young friendly staff, perfect for all age groups. The 16 rooms are arranged in 2 blocks, The Top floor rooms are more private and have better views (the sun rise is worth getting up early to see). They are literally a stones throw away from the raised decking area with sunbeds and a dozen or so steps down to a tiny beach area and entrance to the sea. It does lose the sun mid afternoon though. There is a small strip of sand to walk out to sea, with rocks either side it's perfect for a bit of snorkelling. Breakfast is a bit limited but perfectly adequate, breads, jams, honey, fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, cooked meat etc.The tea is pre-made and pretty awful so take your own tea bags and make your own, coffee is fine. The weekly BBQ is amazing, and not to be missed. The Temple restaurant along the front is really good, excellent value and worth a visit, the fish casserole is absolutely delicious.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are better unless you can't manage a few steps, better view and privacy

This place is well located on the waterfront, with a nice big bar area on the streetside for a nightcap or two before retiring, as well as a restaurant on the sea front and a private deck/terrace for sunbathing and access to the water if you want to avoid the hordes on the beaches across the way. The owners/managers/staff (not sure who was who) were very friendly and helpful, and always present in the event that we needed anything. Breakfast was served in typical Turkish style, and included in the room rate.

The room itself was alright, but had a bit of a dated/faded air about it, much like the rest of the place. The pink walls and yellow curtains made my teeth itch, but c'est la vie. The room had a nice private terrace overlooking the water as well. Aircon was present, but every time the balcony door is opened, or you leave the room and take the key, it automatically switches off...understandably this is to save on electricity and money, but it was a little frustrating to have to begin cooling the room all over again every time we went out.

Overall, this isn't the worst place I have ever stayed by a long shot, but it could do with a bit of a makeover. More of a 3.5 star than a 3 or a 4 - I'd recommend it, you could probably do a lot worse in Side.

I would like to aim this review at people who like budget travel/adventure/culture holidays.
After many years of traveling i have not stayed in a better budget B/B,motel.SERVICE.Nothing was any trouble to the owners/staff from problem solving to bar/ food service, the young staff where friendly and welcoming to all the guests,VALUE.When you consider what you get with the whole kamer experience i found it to be great value for money.SLEEP QUALITY. The bedding and towels are a little frayed sometimes, But are washed within an inch of there lives, clean crisp and sun dried,(its also the first time i have seen a pillow wash and change mid week)The FREE air conditioning ensures a good nights sleep, open the door and the only thing you hear is the music...... of the sea and the wind.
CLEANLINESS.Im not going to tell you the place is sparkling. But it is cleaned to a very high standard by the single very hard working room manager, the grounds and bar/food area are a credit to the bar staff/cook and owners.
LOCATION.wow and i don't just mean the ancient sites that are all within walking distance,
you are a very short distance from the two very very busy noisy/intimidating main streets selling all the tourist tat, the busy harbor area, and all the restaurants you will need, the kamer has its own little oasis, in a small square just out of the hustle and bustle.Tables on the street and in the bar great for the people watchers.
ROOMS.I have mentioned free air con and clean rooms/bedding.what i need to let you know is that rooms have a large ample size balcony with a sea view, inside is a good size room (im 6ft8 and i felt very comfortable) and bathroom with a small fridge the room furniture while not new was neutral and serviceable you also have access to a small safe (for a fee key from reception) a hair dryer is available in the bathroom. room 205.is fantastic for seeing all views.
Right i hope you will find the above helpful so here is a few paragraphs on our findings in the motel and side. The great plus is the sun deck over looking the sea, not crowded as a rule with private bathing on free beds with no sand in the places you don't want sand! they have a small veg plot with peppers eta and a few roman remains just hanging about, then there is the large easy decent on to the shore via some wooden steps, once there you have your own plunge pool to cool off,or you can walk out to the deep water but there are large rocks to negotiate, all this with a snack and drinks service that is the least pushy i have ever experienced in turkey.
We now move to the jewel in the crown the main decking and the area we called the captains table it is fantastic. and a great place to chill out with sea views, read, free WIFI on a tablet, have lunch out of the sun (you will not find cheaper any where in side with the views/location) The captains table is on top of one of the many defense towers built in the city wall and i loved it.
The bar area is open to the square and you will find shop owners playing back gammon in the shade or meeting up at the end of the day say hello they don't bite. The toilet in the bar is the cleanest ive ever seen (quote from the mrs)so i think you will get from that the owners and staff have a unique motel with a formula that is working very well
Now for my rant i read so many negative comments about breakfast WHAT do you eat at home!
yes eggs are the main stay but they are free range protein.not the rubbish we think are free range at home Breaki at the kamar is like a wedding buffet all you can eat and good value eat the curds and the dish of the day if you want McDonalds this is not for you! ,on that note if you look in the kitchen it is spotless.

The weekly BBQ is a must great food at a great price with great views
I would recommend the second floor rooms for views and not over looked.205
Take some buy some neoprene shoes for the rocky sea entry
British take pounds exchange for TL for better rate and cheaper haggling

A little gem of a place in a beautiful historical setting. Stunning location, clean , tidy and spacious rooms with an amazing outlook of the sea and beach. This is a B&B but the choice at breakfast was more than ample with lots to chose from. Staff are friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. The weekly BBQ was excellent and great value for money and could knock the spots off the so called top class hotels in the area. The location for sight seeing is ideal as only seconds away from the temple of Apollo and the ruins and when you want a break from it all the bar of the hotel is in an ideal location to take a drink and watch the world go by. The hotel also offers excellent value for money meals. Lovely decking area for sunbathing and has its own little beach too albeit rocky but a welcome plunge into the Mediterranean just steps away!! I could write lots of positives for this hotel but feel I cant as I want to keep it all for myself!!!! Love Love Love this hotel x

Room Tip: all rooms are facing sea bit ask for an upstairs room to get the best views x

As I say the best thing about the Kamer are the views which on a clear day in March include lovely sea views and in the distance snow covered mountains. Fantastic.

The rooms are spacious and cleaned everyday.

Breakfast are typical Turkish hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, cheese and jam.

The only slight problem was the balcony door would not lock, when this was pointed out we were given a piece of wood to jam door shut, which whilst not perfect is typically Turkish.

Beds are quite hard.
