Me and my family have just returned from the Hemera and have got to say the hotel was fantastic!! We have been on all inclusives before but have had lots of retrictions but not with the Hemera. Your drinks were served in glasses which my hubby loved as nothing worst than beer served in plastic cups My 7 yr old loved the mini club, the staff were great with the kids!!! The rooms are really spacious and very clean and modern. I would def reccommend this hotel to any one and would even go back myself.

We stayed at the Hemera for 2 weeks and loved every minute. We had our 50th anniversary while we were there and had flowers everywhere, in our room, and on the table in the restaurant twice. They made us feel so special. While the Hemera is a large hotel, with loads of activities and entertainment, we managed to find lovely peaceful spots under the olive trees to lounge about during the day. The buffets at mealtimes were excellent and varied, and the pattiserie complete with icecream and coffee, has to be seen to be believed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a beach/pool holiday with the ancient ruins of Side a short dolmus ride away, or 30 minute walk for the energetic.

Arrived late afternoon after an excellent early morning flight with Monarch .No delays Huge plane , felt roomy and meals included . 1 hour transfer to resort .

First impressions very good . Lovely spacious rooms close to reception with a large double and large single .Both rooms the same . No rollaways which was good news for my son . Chose the room with the best view for ourselves and 2 eldest sons had the other room which was oposite and up a different flight of stairs.

Changed and went for a look around . Sat down at pool bar while boys enjoyed a splash around .I had a coffee while hubby enjoyed his first beer in a decent sized proper glass . Excellent that was him happy . strolled down to beach . Fairly busy both ways with lots of hotels along this stretch.

Food - excellent .

Breakfast . Usual choice of breads and pastries . Hot dishes, yoghurts, jams, honey , cereals , nice porridge , cheeses and salads etc . also fruit . Only odd thing was there were pancakes and fried eggs but other than 1/2 odd days No ommlettes which is unheard of in Turkey . You could book A la carte breakfast where interestingly this was mostly ommlettes and basic turkish style so maybe not your thing if you dont like eggs . The A la carte brekkie was served in the turkish restaurant which has a nice cool friendly feel.

Lunch you can take either at the busy snack bar where you are served chips, burgers, pizzas bagettes etc by the harrassed waiters or choose from a buffet of salad , pasta , spag bol etc or there is a live cooking station some days with an extra dish . There is also a jacket potato bar with fillings .
Or you can choose the more formal main restaurant with the normal buffet type selection similar to dinner .

Dinner is served at the main restaurant .Tables mostly inside with a few outside .We preffered outside as there is no ambience whatsoever inside and not the greatest of settings considering this hotel is on the beach . Brightish lighting , and feels like a busy caferteria .Also the air conditioning in there is rubbish and unable to cope with the heat at this time of year. Outside not much better. Some candlelight would be a nice addition for the outside tables . Being July it was very busy and somewhat chaotic with people heading this way and that and trying to avoid loosing the contents of their plate . Hubby said it was like a crypton factor assault course getting back to his outside table with a bowl of soup.

Plenty of choice . Several hot dishes , veg rice, pasta etc . soups , pide/breads . Huge cold and salad selection and an enormous selection of puddings and fruit .

3 la cartes available but we couldnt get a booking for 7 days . Turkish , international and fish . Didnt try the fish . thought the Turkish was the best.

Patisserie was lovely . lovely cakes, ice creams and coffee served all day . We definately had our monies worth in there . It was also the only place that had decent air conditioning

Pool and entertainment -

Plenty of sunbeds available but if you wanted a poolside bed you needed to be up for 6-6.30 in high season . The first week we were there I was getting up at 5.30 and most were already taken but seemed a little better the busier 2nd week for some reason .
There are also plenty of sunbeds on the grassy areas around the pool and heading down towards the beach .There were still available beds here late morning and often all day. Most of these areas have lovely trees for some shade and there are brollys spaced every 2 sunbeds around the pool so no problem getting shade .
Lovely sized pool with water polo /volley and a game at around 12 followed by the usual in Turkey club dance . Very odd old music played most of the day that at times felt depressing . I was told the music is down to the new animation team so they really need to get themselves some new CD's . There was a huge list of activities going on during the day but other than Ali (shooting/archery) who was very good and made an effort to talk and say hello to guests and on the odd occasion Bora who did the water polo none of the entertainment team seemed to make any effort to let you know where activities were taking place and very little interaction with guests . I know not everyone wants to be hassled with reguests to get involved but they just didnt seem to bother at all . Water Arobics in the afternoon with one of the females looked very dull . Not even any music to go with it.

Evening entertainment at the beach bar area (open until midnight) was again dull and cant say we witnessed anything upbeat. We watched a couple of caberet type shows but everybody looked bored stiff . There was a show put on by the mini club one evening that was lovely to see and Im sure the children enjoyed rehersing for it and an odd comedy show done by the animation team that was quite frankly embarrasing to watch . The beach and foam party on a saturday night seemed to be the best night . Also an olympic games morning around the pool on our last day was very good and more upbeat and great to see the different nationalities having fun competeting against each other .

Pool bar with some live music until 11pm

There is also a nightclub that is open from 11.30 until I think about 2am and a 24 hour lobby bar that was a good size and actually seemed to have the best atmoshpere but as my hubby is a smoker he couldnt sit there for long which was a shame .

My teens had a ball every night and often didnt come in until 5am . They made lots of friends and put this high on their list of best holidays .

To sum up . We had a lovely holiday at the Hemera . Our teens had an absolute ball .The food, drinks and accomodation is of excellent quality which we couldnt fault .
Guests I would say half English and the rest German/dutch with a few others thrown in . A good crowd of guests and Everybody friendly .

The staff regretably we found on the whole pretty miserable for Turkey . Again very little interaction with guests and none of that usual Turkish high jinks and banter which we missed . They were very busy I surpose but I dont think that is an excuse for rudeness on the odd occasion and lack of even a good morning from many . There were of course the few exceptions and the couple of female staff seemed to be the best .On a couple of occassions we were requested to sit at tables we didnt want to sit at just because they were already laid out and they wernt happy when we requested to sit elsewhere .
It was almost like they were constantly being watched by someone in a smart shirt and were too scared to even stop and chat or didnt feel it appropriate which is a mistake in Turkey . Maybe this is normal for the larger hotels along this stretch of coast but it didnt feel like Turkey to me so I dont think we would return to this area.

As this was our first visit to the Hemera we had no previous experience there to go by but many return guests were saying how things were not the same and how the fun and laughter was missing now the old entertainment team had left .

I've just come back from Hotel Hemera. Absolutely amazing. Everything was good. It always felt as if they were looking after YOU. All the staff were very friendly. The animation team were wonderful. There was always something to do. We met so many people there, people that had been there for the last 7 years!! Even they said it gets better every year. We're already booking next year's trip there. All you could want from a hotel!

A group of 9 of us, 6 adults and 3 teenagers stayed here for 2 weeks and couldnt fault this hotel. Upon arrival the rooms were spotless, the complimentary basket of fruit was a nice touch, the teenagers room was located over the other side of the hotel but the staff informed us that we could go back the next morning and get it changed if we wanted but we decided that they were fine and it wasnt really a problem. 2 of the adults arrived a couple of days after us and reception went out of their way to put them next to us which I thought was really nice of them.

The food was plentiful, varied and of very good quality, none of us went hungry and no-one had an upset stomach, we all came home having put on a few pounds! We ate in all 3 a la carte restaurants and enjoyed them all. The waiters were really friendly and funny and service was great. A few people have commented on vegetables for breakfast, however in addition to these there was a lot of other variety that they seemed to have failed to mention.

Drinks - There is a beach bar, pool bar and lobby bar, the service at all of them was great, we didnt have any problems getting service, again someone previously had mentioned that if you didnt tip you didnt get served, we certainly didnt find this as we didnt tip until the end of the holiday and always had good service.

We didnt bother getting up to get beds round the pool, there were plenty of other areas (grass and beach) that you could get a bed on all day if you wanted to, we never had a problem getting 9 beds together on the grass and we didnt normally come down before 8.30 and to be honest if there hadnt been beds on the grass we would have just gone on the beach.

I would highly recommend going on the jeep safari tour, we booked this with Collect Tours (outside front of hotel, go straight across), it was £22 each for the whole day including lunch and we had a jeep with a driver to ourselves, we all agreed what a fabulous day out it was. We went up into the Taurus mountains and to the Green Lagoon where we swam at lunchtime, take plenty of bottles of water if you do it as we had water fights with the other jeeps all day which was great fun. Some of our party booked a Hammam and Massage thru the rep and said it was very good.

The only thing I would fault on this holiday was the evening entertainment but to be honest we have been on lots of holidays in lots of locations and the evening entertainment is never up to much so we just make our own entertainment!

You can walk into Side town along the beach (about 45 mins) which is nice for a wander in the evenings, we then got the tractor and trailer back to the Dolmus station and caught the Dolmus back to the hotel, really easy. You can also get the dolmus to the market on a Saturday morning, it stops right outside the market and the hotel, I think it was a Euro each.

A lovely hotel with great standards in a good location. Turkey is very very hot at the moment!

Be very careful if you intend to use the hotel laundry service our friends were charged 276 euro for items such as 6 tee shirts@ 7 euro each. 3 beach dresses @ 26 euro each. 3 night dresses @12 euro each.10 shirts@ 12 euro each, their mistake was (1)the price was is in euro and not Turkish lira (2) they ticked wrong boxes on form (3) would you want your clothes washed dry cleaned and pressed. our friends put their hands up and said we dropped off we were confused by the form, they were not supported by their Thompson holiday rep when trying to negotiate a realistic price with the hotel.now for a good point the weather was fantastic and now not so good the air conditioning could not cope with the fantastic weather.a goodish point was the food in the main canteen sorry restaurant was average to good although you had to be fairly nimble on your toes to avoid other guest and staff around the rather small food collection area and negotiating your way back to your seats. if you read HAPPT from West Sussex comments about the beautiful hotel but many faults he just about sums the place up perfectly. can we get something straight do we go mainly on holiday to unwind and relax and chill out in all inclusive hotels? and that if you want to see the real Turkey you leave your hotel and fight your way through shop and restaurant pavement salesmen who all want to be your best Friend and the money in your pocket, or do we try and enjoy the hotel facility's that we have paid for and not get the feeling that other nationalities German's in particular getting a better service i noticed it on many occasions even brought it to the attention of management, it is also the food at breakfast other nationality eating the kinds of food they would have back home and we Brits who are partial to bacon are not catered for ( and i am not shallow for liking bacon) just out side the hotel gates bacon is on sale in every restaurant, so the augment for not having bacon it is what? can anyone tell me why? also the three English speaking tv channels just compare them with the Germen speaking channels yet again an example of better service for others.the hotel is no more than 4 star at best. all in all a 6 out of 10 holiday.

Our stay at the Hemera was amazing, and lived up to our expectations and delivered so much more.
I was so looking forward to our holiday as it was the first time abroad in 7 years, and did not dissapoint.
We arrived at 06:45 in the morninh and checked in quicly and smoothly, was shown to our rooms and our luggage arrived immediately after.
We chose a 2 bedroom apartment which had amazing views of the pools and also had great sea views. I was also pleasantly surprised that we had quite a few english channels on the tv which was a bonus.
All the restaurants were amazing with plenty of choice and variety, we particularly enjoyed our visit to the Sofra restaurant, also the Sandals fish restaurant was very impressive, our waiters were very funny and made our night.
I highly rate the food at the Hemera, quality and variety were outstanding, like to say a special thanks to Ali in the main restaurant, he was a brilliant waiter and always had a smile and bit of banter with us and we tended to get the same table every night for the 9 in our party.
Loved the fact that towels are provided for you for use at the pool or beach, that made such a big difference and you could have these exchanged twice a day.
It was also such a lovely experience having our bed sheets changed every day, total bliss.
I would like to give special thanks to our room cleaner Hiyate she was so lovely and done a great job always had a smile.
Borac from the animation team was so funny and lovely, wot a guy! I have never come across so many hard working people, they all do such an amazing job.
Ali from the animation team was also very nice, he has the most amazing blue eyes!!!
If I had to mention a negative it would be that the pool toilets, although always clean, were quite smelly.
Please avoid the general shop in the hotel, it is vastly overpriced.... 5 euros for a bic biro, 18 Euros for Hello and pick me up magazine, total rip off, outside the hotel the same pen was 1.50 lira so be warned, he also wanted 6 euros for shampoo, you can get much larger bottle again outside the hotel for 5 lira, so beware!!!
Overall, I would go back in a heartbeat, weather was brilliant, 14 days of scorching sunshine, not one bad day.
can definitely understand why they have so many people returning, which surely is a credit to the Hotel and all the hardworking staff there.
Thank you to everyone who made our holiday a truly memorable happy experience.
