“Pretty much perfect.......”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2012

A large group of us stayed at the hotel between the 16th and 30th August. Firstly, let me start by saying that all the reviews about the welcome and general service etc is spot on and generally faultless, the glass of bubbly and cold towel on arrival was much appreciated and a great touch. The majority of us were upgraded to Villa Rooms with our own villa pool and sunbeds which pretty much made our holiday. The food was great and did not feel at all repetitive and the cocktails were better quality than most hotels 'all inclusive' cocktails. The grounds were stunning and well looked after, and there were banana, orange and olive trees etc to see.

Al La Carte Restaurants - I have been going to Turkey on and off for a long time, and I always remember that this is a Turkish take on these cuisines, the chinese was acceptable, although some of the food was a bit fatty or salty, but this was my taste buds, not a commentary on the food itself. The Italian was a bit hit and miss, the starters, soup etc was nice, but my main was a bit confused lol. Unfortunately, due to the size of the group (and the fact that we had to cancel our first booking) we did not manage to get into the turkish al la carte, although other guests said this was the best.

Beach - Did not spend a lot of time on the beach or the main pools, so do not feel qualified to comment. However, what I did see was that these were clean, well maintained and everyone on or around them seemed to be having a great time. Neighbours of ours did manage to swim with the Turtles as well. Staff seemed to be milling around and testing the water etc.

Entertainment - not to my taste, however some guests did seem to be enjoying this, and I would certainly not let my thoughts on the entertainment stop you from considering this hotel. It is entirely subjective, and they are trying to cater for different nationalities.

Food - didn't have a day where I couldn't find something to eat. Even the deserts which can be hit and miss in Turkish Hotels were good, and the selection of fruit on offer was outstanding and flavoursome. By far the best food in a hotel I have experienced in Turkey (and other countries I have also visited).

Overall, we would go back to this hotel again without question, more so if we could guarantee ourselves a free upgrade to the Villa rooms :-).

Our first holiday in Turkey and we travelled with two teenage sons. The hotel was unable to give us two rooms close to each other so we were upgraded to adjoining poolside rooms. Beautiful rooms, overlooking lovely pool and gardens. We were very impressed. We could not fault this hotel. Food choices at each meal were extensive.
The choice of pools from quiet to busy, and wide choice of seating areas and bars. You were spoiled for choice.
My only criticism was the lack of availability of late check out rooms. There were none and we didnt leave the hotel until 9 p.m. There were however showers to use in the indoor pool area and towels provided.
All in all a winner!

Room Tip: Poolside rooms are worth the extra charge, though they tend to be on the edges of the grounds- they...

Just returned from a 2 week break at the Turquoise. The first think that strikes you are the grounds of the hotel which are immaculatety clean and set amongst a lush forest of greenery. Next was our check in; which was very efficent. We were given a glass of cold bubbly and an ice cold fannel, which was superb after a long night travelling. We upgraded to a double room, which was situated in the gardens(approx 5 mins walk from hotel). room was comfortable and spacious, air con worked well, minibar topped up daily with water and pop. Only downside was it was a tad noisy and everything seemed to echo inside.
The food is the best we have ever had on a all inclusive From fresh pizza, jacket spuds and burgers at the beach bar, to king prawns, smoked salmon, and tai curry at the main restrauant. We only used one of the Al a Carte (Chinese) which was also very nice. The drinks menu is also extensive from Efis beer, cocktails ,wine and spirits.
Sunbeds are not a problem to find, as they can't be reserved before 9am.Take some jelly shoes for the beach!!!, as it is stoney to get in and there are big rocks a way out. The easiest place to get in and out is by the jetty by the beach bar. Towels for beach and pool are also avaliable with no charge. (pick up by pool)
The entertainment is average in the evening. Shows are in the amphitheatre, performed by the animation team; and on the verrandah there are frequent live bands. During the day the animation team work exceptionally hard organising various games and activities for all.(they are not pushy if you decline to take part).
Finally all the staff have to be commented because they are extremely friendly and make you feel special.

Top tip!!! Don't take any traveller's cheques, because the hotel doesn't change them.

Room Tip: Try to book a room in the hotel, they are quiet.

This was our first trip to Turkey and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Four of us (two adults and two teenagers) had a brilliant holiday. We had two rooms in an annexe to the main building and the rooms were very spacious and had very effective air conditioning that needed to be on all the time as it was so hot.
We spent most of our time lying on the sunbeds by the pool, in the shade of a palm tree. No need to rush to get a sunbed as there's a rule you can't reserve beds before 9am. The entertainment team were fantastic and encouraged everyone to join in. (Without being too pushy or agressive). We all had a go at archery, the Olympic sports day, silly pool games and aquarobics! The evening shows were very good too, especially the Michael Jackson show. One afternoon my daughter and I walked along the beach to Side which was probably just under a mile and then caught the bus back.
We couldn't fault the food and there was so much, available at all hours of the day, we couldn't understand why people would need to buy any food from the little hotel shop!
We used the local bus to go to Side old town (10 minutes away and very cheap) a couple times in the evenings. The first time we ventured into the town after dinner but the second time we went we found it was much quieter around 5pm and were back in time to eat at around 8pm. We also went to Magnavat Market on the local bus (ignore the taxi drivers who will tell you it takes an hour on the bus - it actually only took about 25 minutes), where our teenagers enjoyed haggling for fake designer bargains! Local shopkeepers are very friendly and you can get a bargain if you are polite and not too cheeky as there are some extremely good copies to be had.
We loved the pools and the beach which was steps away from the hotel. We enjoyed snorkelling off the end of the small pier and swam alongside a huge turtle which was just feet away from us.
This may have been our last family holiday together as our son is off to University soon and probably won't want to come with us again but we had a great time and a lot of happy memories.

Room Tip: We were in an an annexe so not too close to the amphitheatre or pool bar where the entertainment tak...

We returned from the Turquoise on 20th Aug after staying for 2 weeks. We were a party of 8 varying in ages between 13 and 66 and had requested 3 double rooms as close together as possible in the hotel. After an awful journey from Manchester airport (there was a power cut for 2 hours just as we were checking in, but thats another story!) and travelling with Thomas Cook on a Lithuanian ? aircraft after lengthy delays. We were met, on our arrival, with glasses of champagne for the adults and fruit cocktails for the children with chilled flannels and wonderful, happy staff.

We were shown to our rooms and the hotel had very kindly given us three lovely rooms next to each other in block A, adjoining the main hotel. It was my Mother's Birthday the day after arrival and a lovely bunch of flowers had been left with a card from the hotel, which was a very special touch. The rooms are cleaned and sheets/towels changed constantly and minibar stocked daily with bottled water, lemonade, fizzy orange and pepsi.

The hotel itself is immaculate and well appointed , situated within a pine forest there is lots of birdsong and beautiful gardens to walk through. The main restaurant is large and there is a huge choice of food even our two fussy teenage boys were satisfied! Again the restaurant staff were excellent and always had a large table ready for us at mealtimes (special thanks to Simi & Mehmet). The food was so good in the main buffet restaurant that we didn't feel it necessary to book one of the a la cartes although, people who we spoke to said they were very good.

The children were very well occupied during the daytime with pool games, beach volleyball and archery (Thanks Onur) and the entertainment staff didn't badger those who didn't want to be involved. The beach is sandy with a little shingle on the water's edge but nothing like as rocky and rough as I was expecting. Walking a little further down the beach away from Side towards the Voyage Hotel next door, the sand does turn rather more pebbly and less easy to walk on. There's a beach bar between the pool area and the small beach which opens at 10am and whilst we were there was served by a very nice young man called Sirkan who had to endure temperatures of 45 degrees plus and still managed to smile.

If all hotels operated the "no towels on sunbeds" before 9am rule, as the Turquoise does, I'm sure it would make for happier holidays. It really does work, there are masses of beds scattered through the gardens in the shade of the trees and by the pools and on the beaches, also the two piers..

If there was one small criticism it would be that the evening entertainment is a little lacking. There's a bar area outside the main restaurant which has a stage which is underused. There was a good band which played there on a Monday night and an awful Louis Armsrong sound - alike singer on a different night but that was pretty much all. There were some shows in the amphitheatre which we watched, but it was so hot to sit in the evening and the poor sound technician had to try and compete with excessive sound from the next door hotel.

There is a bus service into Side outside the main gates to the hotel or the reception staff are more than happy to ring a cab (which as there were 8 of us we used all the time) and go for a walk in the town in the evening. We visited the ruins at sunset and it really was beautiful. We also visited the market in Manavgat which was great fun and we got lots of bargains, but go early as it gets very busy and very hot!

The Brits are in the minority at this hotel, there are lots of Dutch, Scandinavians & Germans and I can honestly say that everyone was very nice and there was no stereotypically bad behaviour from any nationality. All very civilised and chilled out..

We had a fantastic holiday and I apologise if I'm repeating any comments made by previous reviewers but we are only just home and looking to re-book for next year. (Just not with Thomas Cook who really do need to up their game)
