“Excellent holiday perfect place to stay”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We spent 2 weeks at this resort last week in may and the first week in June. We were in a villa with private pool. Hotel and grounds are very clean and well maintained. During the 2 weeks the food in the buffet restaurant was varied and the theme nights were not repeated during our stay. The a la carte was good and the service was excellent. We would suggest booking the a la carte as soon as possible as they do get booked up quite quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the dive centre good value 175 Euros for 6 dives. A visit to Side on the local bus is well worth a visit. lots of Roman Ruins including an Ampitheatre. The buses run every 10 mins at a cost of 2.5 lira a person. Would definitely have no reservations in returning to this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms with use of a private pool

I have read many good reviews on this hotel whilst we were there and they must have stayed in a different hotel. I spoke with many UK guests whilst at the hotel and they said it was fantastic, then I pointed out the lack of air conditioning in the main building, the complete slop for food in the buffet restaurant, the lack of english speaking staff, the rudeness of staff and failure to get drinks and they all agreed that this is not the excellent hotel it claims to be.
Check in was OK, staff did not have good english, but it went off OK, room was on third floor in main building, alittle hot when we arrived, but thought it was because the air conditioning was not on, we attempted to put it on, but did not work. On contacting reception they stated it was only put on, when the temperature reached 30 degrees, although it was 28, it was not on. We told Thomsons and they said the same, so we could not sleep any night as it was uncomfortable. After a few days, we spoke with other guests who said there was working and the room cold, we complained and they told us, it was now on, so they would send maintenance to fix it. He arrived, virtually no english, he switched it on and then said it was fixed, he stood 2 meters from the vent and put his hand in the air and said there, you can feel a slight air. It was not fixed and we spent 2 weeks, in a room that was hot every day and night. The food in the buffet, was for German guests, full of slop, you did not know what it was, and all swimming in sauce, some days hard to eat. Had eggs made one day and ended up with a bad stomach. No english tea for breakfast and you have to get your own drinks, they clear your plate away almost as quck as the cutlery is put down, very rude when other guests are stilling eating at the same table. Beach bar - forget it, he is rude and does not want to serve anyone, several guests agreed. Sultans bar, it takes ages to get served and they do not understand and you get the wrong drink. The watiers take a few times to get it right, they forget your drink, then they bring the wrong drink or the waiter who serves the back is extremely slow, over 30 minutes to get a drink. We watched every day, as the hotel removed guests towels off the loungers before 9am, leaving a note on the loungers, which new guests then binned, when the guests returned, it caused arguements and alot of bad feeling between guests, when it is the hotel. Was advised that they would have to buy back the towels, but no warning in hotels literature or from Thomsons. The beach is not blue flag, it is dirty, if you walk on the beach to Side they are lovely and clean, the hotel does not clean there part of the beach. The hotel caters for Germans and Dutch and not for English.
The only good points are, the hotel is clean, the cleaner was fantasitc, the lobby bar is really good, the young Turkish girl on most day with curly long hair is really nice, as is the bar man, they gave us some good entertainment. The hotel grounds are lovely and the a la carte restaurants could not be faulted, they need to teach the buffet how to cook. The pattesserie is excellent, although the young girl serving cakes is slow and has no personality.
I can only think that the perople who review this as good, have not been to good hotels in the past, we went to Belek last year and that hotel was 100% better than this one.

Room Tip: do not stay in main building as you may not have air conditioning

Dear guests,

Thank you very much for your comment. We will take all the mentioned points seriously to improve our performance.

Air conditioning in the main building is working 24 hours from 1st of June till 15th of October.
Before and after this period air conditioning in the main building is weather dependent.

Kind regards

We are still on the last days of our holiday at this hotel (but as I am chilled and with time on my hands I decided to review it now). The reason my piece is titled shocked is that on reading reviews I see that some people describe the staff as unfriendly and I honestly do not know how shockingly bad mannered or rude you would need to be to provoke any of this staff to be unfriendly when ordering at the bar etc or being served I always use the words please and thank you (and maybe smile - you're on holiday) and I have NEVER had anything less than a smile back and "you're welcome". It is true some of the staff do not speak a lot of English but that doesn't detract from their hard work FOR YOU. We have spoken to a waiter who initially spoke to us in German when he realised we were not German he spoke to us in English (which he is limited in) but he explained he speaks German some Russian, some English and some Dutch (I know its Flemish) but is expected to speak 5 languages just to carry you drinks backwards and forward and most importantly he is a charming funny young man. The hotel is great we have met lots of people from a variety of places and I don't have bad word to say about the holiday you will have guessed by now that rather than tell you how good everything is (and it is) I just felt I needed to stick up for the people who wouldn't get a chance to defend themselves against what I believe is a bit of slur. Like a previous reviewer said would I come again - absolutely, would I tell my friends - yes again.

We've just returned from a week here and we thought the hotel was very good. Couldn't really fault anything other than the weather, we had some bad thunderstorms, however there's nothing we can do to change the weather! The only point I would like to mention is that although the Hotel have a policy regarding the reserving of sunbeds before 9am, we found that most of the sunbeds were taken by this time, it seems that guests were putting there own towels on the beds, so the hotel would leave them. We struggled most days, even when it was cloudy to find four beds together with a parasol, this was very frustrating as we were down by the pool by 8.50am at the latest most days. We would return here however as we had a good time. Also I just want to say a big thank you to the Entertainment Team who made a very special effort with our Daughter Alex to involve her in all the activities they had going on - she especially loved the football every afternoon and the dancing each night, I think the team really helped to ensure we all had a great holiday.

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom family room for the four of us, which was very nice, although we did have to as...

I have just returned from a week in The Turquoise Resort and have to say it was one of the best all inclusive I have stayed in for ages. As ex holiday reps myself and 2 friends have worked all over the world and have to say outside the Caribbean this hotel is one of best for the all inclusive product it offers.
Check in was excellent and a welcome drink and short briefing ideal for a late arrival. We were allocated a room on the ground floor in the main building. Our air conditioning was not working and we did ask if we could move to a higher floor so we could have the door open at night but unfortunately the hotel was full. The hotel possibly might consider that 3 women may not wish to have a ground floor room due to safety but we managed just fine and found the room to be really good standard and overall very happy. Mini bar is included and stocked daily with robes and slippers to use plus free safe deposit box and plenty of wardrobe space so everything you could ask for.

The pool was lovely and plenty of sunbeds everywhere. We found the option of pool, garden and beach ideal so we could have best of all. The drinks around the pool were good and cocktail selection was varied plus the usual beer, soft drinks etc.

The beach was sandy and you can walk either way but best to walk into Side town. It takes about 30mins and you can see the Roman Ruins from the beach. Plenty of watersports on beach too offering all types. There are 2 jettys part of the complex and lovely to walk down them to sunbath and swim off the jetty pier. The sea was a little rough and lots of waves so not ideal for not strong swimmers.

Food was one of the best features of the hotel. Such a varied choice at all meal times. I disagree with comments that not good for veggies. My friend is veggie and Ive never seen her eat as much on holiday ever!! Lovely salads and pasta. Very impressed that there is a bakery station where you can get fresh bread still in plastic covering. Lots of fresh fruit and pastires and always ice cream and the theme nights were excellent. Only small comment was no fajitas and nachos on Mexican Night?????? might be a suggestion. Overall the Executive Chef at this hotel is excellent and really has thought about each meal.

Entertainment again was very good. We never really get involved but we felt the animation team got it just right being visable and friendly but not pushy or annoying. They came around every day at breakfast to say good morning and provided activities during day plus were very sociable at night and got everyone up dancing. Special mention to Mustafa and Burak who were especially good. There was a show or a live band on every night and that they had professional acts for this made a huge difference. We looked forward to it every night where in other hotels we usually go out.

Waiting staff were also very good and special mention to Sahin & Ali5 in the Sultan Bar who kept us topped up with drinks and very friendly and proffessional

The patisserie is also one of the key features that stands this hotel apart as never seen it before in an all inclusive. The standard of this was excellent and open 11am until 11pm. Everyone loved it and was located next to main bar so focal point in afternoons and evenings.

The indoor pool and spa were also really lovely. The hammam especially was impressive and we enjoyed a rainy morning in there.

There is nothing outside the hotel to walk to but its 10 Euro in a taxi or 1Euro on local bus into Side. We also went to Mangavat to the local market and got a taxi which cost 10 Euro.
I would def recommend late check out to Thomson guests due to late flight. We originally were told that we could not have this as hotel full but after negotiation managed to secure another room to keep until 8pm, Cost was 80 Euros but well worth the money if your flight pick up is 10pm at night as it means you can enjoy fully the last day,

Overall I would recommend this hotel and return. Thankyou for a lovely holiday.
