Basic but clean accommodation - ask for the Main Building as the views are better than the Bungalows. There is no Swimming Pool but the Beach is practically on the Hotel door step. Plenty of Bars/Restaurants offering cheap food/drink. The markets were not as cheap as Olu Deniz or Marmaris but we would still go back as the resort was lovely and so was the weather.

Got back today after a twelve day holiday at the Neptun booked through Travel Republic which also included their excellant airport transfer service. We found the hotel and staff delightful. The property consists of a main building (in which we stayed) and one bedroom bungalows set in a pretty garden opposite the hotel's own stretch of sandy beach. The ancient ruins of Side are all around you including some in the garden itself and the main town is only a five minute walk away, Most of Side's hotels are either set back a long way out in dusty modern areas or strewn along either side of the town for miles in complexes with little character but plenty of noise and consist of sunbathers in rows speaking mainly German.
OK the the Neptun badly needs some TLC but for its setting, value for money and friendly staff you could do a lot worse.
One word of warning, the waiters at the beach restaurant next door (towards town) are rude and aggresive and we were advised by several other holidaymakers the prices are expensive too, why bother when you can eat a self service evening buffet meal at the Neptun for £4 with NO hassle!

We stayed at the Neptun Hotel in June, having got a great deal online. We weren't sure what to expect but were very pleasently surprised. We arrived early morning and were shown to our 'wendy house' next to the pool and restaurant. It was clean and welcoming but we weren't keen on being so close to the pool etc as we really wanted peace and quiet so asked if we could be moved. We were offered a room in the actual hotel which was lovely! We had a double and single bed, large clean bathroom and a balcony with views to die for. We were b&b and thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts on the sunny outdoor terrace of the restaurant. Typically turkish with breads, meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs and olives. The location of the hotel was superb with the main town a short stroll either by the sea or through the Roman ruins. The hotel beach was also great, we tried others along the coast but returned to Neptun as it was less crowded and much nicer. The hotel restaurant by the beach was nice but we did feel a little hassled to eat there but a firm 'no thank you' did the trick. All in all, a great location, lovely room and fantastic value for money.

I booked this holiday through Travel Republic and was a little apprehensive as we paid so little but I need not have worried as this hotel is a great find. They picked us up from the airport a lot cheaper than any other firms. The staff were lovely especially Onur the night receptionist who has become and adopted son. We booked a double room but the first room we were in had two small single beds and the ceiling was chipboard (dont know if they were still being finished) so I asked to change. There was no hassle with this at all and we ended up in a wendy house in the gardens which was lovely. Very clean and the cleaner was a star. The restaurant there was very good and it also has a nice swimming pool, all things I wasnt expecting as it wasnt in the write up for the hotel. Also spoke to people who actually stayed in the hotel rooms and they said they were fine with fantastic views. All in all a lovely place and lovely people I hope its as cheap next year. By the way we had no problem with hot water but the taps were the wrong way round hot is cold cold is hot which was very interesting!

I stayed at Neptun Hotel, Side and we had a wonderful stay. We had a wendy house next to the pool. It was extremley clean and everyday we had new sheets and towels.

The pool was very clean aswell and the food at the Theatre resturant which is located on the grounds of the hotel was fantatsic with organised barbecues etc.

There are two beaches as Side town is located on the tip of the landscape. The best beach is located behind the Apitheatre, through the ruins, its about a 6-7minute walk where you will come across camels etc. Usually about 10 euro a ride, well worth it! The first beach bar is called "No Name Beach", the food here is excellent, particularly the kebabs, there is no service charge in bringing your drinks or food to you and the sun beds are only £1 a day.

The other beach is located the other side of the Neptun hotel, this is the noiser side with all the bars and shops open til 2-3am, so best to be located near the pool if you stay here, not in the hotel itself!

The hotel was fantastic value for money and we booked it directly, only 10 euro a night.

A couple of nights we had no hot water, but i think that was due to the weather wasnt hot enough to heat the solar panels on the roof, but other than that it was great.

Check out the site [---]

Side itself is very pretty, staying at the Neptun is the best spot as you have access to great resturants, a pool, short walk to the beach over rough ground though, and you are a short walk to the town itself. You will get pestered by every shop owner to go in their shop and look at everything but just smile nicely and say no thank you.....
