Just returned from 2 weeks at the Hanay feeling very chilled. Bar/Waiting Staff were excellent once they got use to you; shame the reception staff let them down as they never seemed helpful. Apartment clean with enough room for the 2 of us, cleaned most days. Pool area clean but got busy early, towels laid out at 7am every morning. Pool warm and slide excellent. Would definately recommend the Turkish Bath at the Hanay, very relaxing. Pool Party (Saturday) and Turkish Night (Wednesday) recommended. Food at hotel good and great value. Plenty of restaurants within the vicinity and supermarkets. Extremely hot with temp at 48 degrees somedays, evenings very humid. We made some great friends as hotel not too big. P.S. Try the VIP Boat Cruise for those without children. Apollo Temple worth a visit both day and night. We enjoyed Turkey and the Hanay so much we have already booked for next year.

Couldn't fault the hotel for cleanliness and was also very modern, a pleasure to stay in but the biggest thing that let it down was the reception staff who were very rude & arrogant, the cleaners were polite and very proffesional at their job and we can only say there was one waiter that we could say was nice unfortunatly we don't know his name we had food at the hotel but weren't impressed. We struggled to find anywhere decent for english food at the start of our holiday but we did find a really nice english restaurant called Britannia which we would highly reccommend!!! also beach is further than they say on hotel description.

Weve just come back from Turkey and stayed at the Hanay. The staff on the front desk werent brilliant but other staff were mostly friendly. They had a Turkish themed night with Belly dancer and turkish dance troup and BBQ all for 30 lira per person under 5s free. My son is 7 and they said he could still eat for free. The pool is excellent and now has a huge slide which is only on for 30mins twice a day. The rooms were clean and maid service every day. The weather was excellent. We would go again but not much night life. We were charged 5 lira for local Efes beer but the shop down the road sold it for 2.65 lira so we filled the fridge and no one minded we drank it around the pool. The restaurant across the road was great (L, Layla) the staff were friendly and fun. Nice holiday and we would go again. worth the money a good cheep holiday.

staff are superb, always willing to help and give advice, nothing is to much trouble. clean appartments, amazing food that was always served with a smile.great time from the first to last, the hotel is on a main road but that does not cause any problem.if you want either a relaxing holiday this is the place. will def be going back, in fact we are already looking at dates as well as encouraging friends to join us next year. the only downside, if it is a downside is the distance to beach, though there is a free bus service there. the food outside hotel is also fantastic and cheap, would recemond it to anyone of any age

Just got back from side and stayed at the Hannay. we all had a great time and felt one week was to short, would recommend you go for two weeks. The hotel was very clean and the food was great and very cheap. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and always ensure you are happy and satisfied. on the first day we all went for a turkish bath which you can get in the hotel. it works out to be around £15(very cheap) this includes turkish bath, face mask and then a full body massage. Great way to start your holiday. Eating out- lots of places again very cheap and nice people. The beach is about 5 minutes walk away and the other beach the hotel offers a free bus ride there and back. both beaches are clean and have lovely views. The hotel offers a turkish night and a pool party both are very entertaining and all ages will enjoy. Im hoping to go back in a few months time. Side is such a beautiful place and theres lots of stuff to do such as the boat trip to see the dolphins, turtels as well as a boat trip to a huge market and the waterfalls.

After reading mixed reviews about Hanay Suit Appartments myself and partner were slightly apprehensive about going there , we had no idea what to expect from Turkey either. For what we paid for this holiday I can say it was a complete success and a bargin! I’m giving the apartments 5/5 due to the cleanliness, free AC, staff, location and the great price.

Upon arrival at the airport we joined the queue to obtain a visa which will cost you £10 (English note) . This queue moved quite quicky and it wasn’t long until we were through immigration complete with “stamps”.
TRANSFERS & FLIGHT - The transfers were booked through Resort Hoppa and the rep met us just outside after we’d claimed baggage. A good start! At this point it had gone 5am. The flight times from Glasgow were a bit rubbish. Oh, please note they fill the plane from the back if you choose no meal – make sure you request not to get row 40 as the seats don’t lie back – very un-comfy even for a small person. Anyways, enroute to the apartments the transfer bus makes a stop!!!! Yes….a stop! We’d been on the bus less than 20 mins, tired, fed up and not impressed by this. The driver and rep went for breakfast. Very mad panic on the way home when we couldn’t get hold of the transfer company so I’d to call the UK and also email like mad - it was actually sorted and they did turn up early.

CHECK IN - Upon arrival at the reception we were met by a friendly receptionist that spoke not too bad English. Check in was easy and our names appeared on their list….good start! The safe was 15 euros a week I think, with a 20 euro deposit for the key. Check out was 10 am, there was an option to keep the room on if you had a late flight about 30 lira (15 euros). They way we booked the holiday it was just as cheap to book the extra day at the time of booking – the hotel was 100% full when we were leaving, in fact they’d mucked up our room and we were asked to move room on the last day – wasn’t too bad as we were only staying for a few more hours and wernt going to go to sleep in the other room.

ACCOMODATION – when booking I requested a double room as opposed to a twin room.. The appartment was lovely and clean, the air conditioning working perfectly well (only in the bedroom though) . There were extra pillows in the wardrobe to use. Towels were changed daily if you leave them on the bath. The AC is good in the bedroom, in fact it gets quite cold. I’d not say if you were planning to cook the kitchen was great though.
WEATHER – All I can say is fantastic, roasting hot in the day and a lovely temperature not to have to bother with a cardi at night.

NEARBY SHOPS – Little supermarket next door – haggle for lilos and holyday stuff, beers, milk, chocolate etc were fixed prices. Supermarket across the road for nappies etc should you need them.

BAR – hotel bar is open until the last person leaves . Local beer is quite drinkable. In the hotel you sign a “chitty” for what you’ve eaten and drank and pay it at reception. Tip – don’t let it build up and keep your receipts, a few times we were overcharged by 1 or 2 lira. Hotel food isn’t too bad at all, its reasonably priced. You can go to the local shop and buy your own food & drink and eat it around the pool too – that works out cheaper.

OTHER RESTURANTS – there are hundreds of restaurants around Side, the closer you get to the harbor the more expensive they get. The best we found was Kayi’s its at the bottom of the stairs as you walk towards the beach.

FOOD – We found the food to be excellent. There was plenty to choose from in the restaurants. I ate the salads and drank juices with ice and had no tummy trouble at all. I’d recommend Shish kebab, Chicken in a pot, Alibaba kebab and Testi kebab. All really great!

POOLS – Pool was great and seemed clean. It was also a lovely temperature. It was getting busier at the end of the 2nd week. You can take / use lilos.

LOCATION – Hanay Suit is located on a main road although it’s not noisy as it’s actually quite a quiet road , its about 20-30 mins from the harbour and I’d say this is perfect. You may see in the brochure that the hotel is in a quiet area – be warned it had a disco bar roight outside the reception that is open until the last person leaves – was about 2am most nights. And there is a local stray dog that wont shut up!!!

HAGGLING – best to read the forum but be warned you are supposed to haggle in the chemists too, it’s the last thing you feel like when you’re ill too but be warned.

INTERNET - hotel has a free internet computer although there is always a queue - go at 2am there isnt!

BEACH – we didn’t use the free bus to the beach but the times were 10:30 and 11am, returning 15:30 and 16:00. Most of the restaurants offer free sunbeds if you buy a drink or a meal from them, defo no need to pay for a sunbed.

AQUA LAND WATER PARK – depending on what you’re looking for from a waterpark trip would really depend if you’d bother going. I’d say it would be good for younger kids 10 – 13ish – not older teenagers who would probably want fast rides. There are about 5 good rides but a half day is enough and it’s not the cheapest day out. You are not allowed to wear aqua shoes on the rides, the ground is scalding hot. The wave pool was never switched on. You can’t take any food or drink in. It is a very expensive day out it was 31 lira to get in and then you’ve to hire a rubber ring for an additional 7.50 lira or wait for about 30 mins for a public rubber ring.

TRIPS & CAR HIRE – booked through the German bloke across the road from the hotel. 18 Euro for the rafting, 20 Euro for quads 35 Euro for car hire.

QUADS – not too bad a trip, lots of up and down the hills and over loads of bumps – although nothing at all to see. Boy’f loved it, I thought it dull.

RAFTING – Amazing, loved it. They make you go through the freezing water before you do the 9 miles of river. Be warned, the rafting is exactly the same trip no matter who you book with. It is about half the price to book this out with your tour rep.
If you would like to know anything else about the hotel please just email me and ask. I will be adding some photos to this review soon of the hotel, and Side in general.
