“Great hotel”
Reviewed 31 July 2012

Turkey has never really appealed to me for some reason - but after visiting Side near Antalya - I changed my mind.

When we fist arrived - there was a bit of problem with checking in but soon was resolved as I kicked up a fuss - they tried to put all 4 of us in one room which I was not having - they had overbooked but I made them feel bad and it worked.

I have to say this hotel is just brilliant for everyone - young adults, families and groups - Side is really nice and not taken over by tourists like Marmaris - its a very pretty place.

We went all-inclusive for my mum's 60th birthday and their anniversary. They surprised my parents at dinner when we booked into a restaurant. They created a heart out of flowers around the table and decorated the table very beautifully.

Entertainment was great and also the food was themed every night so we never got bored for choice.

The lobby is massive and the staff are so friendly - we had one waitress who always used to bring our drinks and know exactly what we wanted - she was a star - as soon as we'd sit down - our drinks would be with us in seconds

Only downside was - the hotel is bombarded with russians. The staff speak very little english but its fine - you get by.

Great summer get away :)

This was my 4-th holiday in Turkey and one on the best . I have been before in Kusadasi , Belek and Lara but this Hotel was the best , until now :).
Staff -ok , most of them speeks enghlish or german language
Food - excellent
Bar - very good ,very frendly barman Mehmetakif makes great cocteils and moves fast so you don't have to wait too much at the bar
Services - ok
DJ Otoman was very kind to play 2-3 times / day , 2 romanian best hits and we felt a little bit close to Romania .
Overall a great hotel for families and for those who want to party ,they can do it until 2-3 in the morning in Niagara Disco .

Just got back from a holiday staying 1 week all inclusive at the Grand Prestige. Overall we had a lovely time (holidays are often what you make them) but there are plus and minus points.
Mainly German and Russian resort - only met a couple of other British tourists
Plus:
* Lovely pool areas and gardens/grounds
* Excellent food for the most part with lots of choice including handy beach snack bar
* Fish al'a carte and Turkish Restaurant were both fantastic
* Well stocked fridge in room
* Beer was good and kept cold
* Most staff were friendly and helpful
* Great for kids
* We got a slight reduction on our final bill after we complained about a few things
* Couple of excellent entertainment shows but not great on the whole
* Good availability of sunloungers throughout the day although good spots went very early as you would expect
* Did a nice river boat/mini bus trip to 2 'Waterfalls'

Minus:
* Big language barrier as most staff did not speak English
* Often slow service especially at the lobby bar and hardly ever any ice!
* Need to pay for fresh juice - the free juice was incredibly sweet and more like strong cordial
* Wine was pretty terrible especially if not cold as was often the case
* Had to pay for ice creams
* Our insufficient air con broke down 3 times and my son was injured slipping on the water that dripped from the unit
* No bath plugs/bath mat - had to wait 2 hours for a bath plug to arrive
* Air con throughout was fairly poor but outside temp was over 40c a couple of days
* Pushy sales staff at the wellness centre and although I had a good experience at the spa 2 other family members did not.
* Very rigid services times for each food area - food IS available all day but you need to know which food area to go to and what will be available at each. Some guests piled plates so high at certain meal times that some dishes ran out very quickly esp at the 4pm cake/doughnuts. My family members often missed a lunch meal as they weren't hungry at 12pm
*Entertainment and music obviously aimed at the mainly German/Russian guests so could feel a bit alienated
* Rooms were basic but fairly clean - not really 5*
* Not much to do in the surrounding area - we did make a bus trip in to the city and the market
* Not many loos in the public areas

I wouldn't stay here again although I did have a nice holiday and it was overall good value for money.

loved this hotel though it is def. for families with children. The rooms are typical hotel rooms you would find anywhere, very clean though no tea making facilities but refrigerator was always well stocked with water and beer (all inclusive) Good views and near the beach. The food was EXCELLENT. I watched one day from my balcony a chef cooking fish and he regularly changed his plastic gloves! Also had trouble with bedroom door not locking-I reported it to reception and by the time I'd gone up in the lift back to my room the technician was waiting for me! Took him 2 minutes to fix! Mostly Russian and German guests. Found all staff very helpful though some not great at English! Grounds kept well manicured and clean at all times.
