“Amazing Location”
Reviewed 13 November 2012

I have been to many hotels in Turkey before and this was definitely the best hotel ever. Region had great nature, mountains, forest and sea in the same place. Hotel was kind a new one built three years ago. The best thing was the meals, any time of the day you could find something to eat in at least two different restaurants. kids club was open until the night shows end so we could have a second honeymoon with my wife. Generally families prefered the hotel, our children made many friends, staff was good, most of them spoke english, in some units service was slow but the atmosphere made us forget about that. in conclusion children liked it, we enjoyed it and cant wait to go back there.

Room Tip: We stayed in a pool deluxe room you pay a bit more than deluxe room but it worths.

The pros:
- very modern rooms, each with free Wi-Fi internet, which isn't mentioned on the hotel's website
- the deluxe pool rooms or suite are arranged in two-storey villas around many pools. Excellent for going for a swim right from the room.
- outstanding water park, great for kids and adults
- average quality food in the restaurants, not adequate for a 5 star hotel, but food on gala nights is good. There always seems to be a lot of selection, but it's more for looks than the real thing. Food on the gala nights could have scored a 'very good', but how anyone can ruin fillet of beef is beyond me (DO NOT OVERCOOK THE BEEF FOR GOD'S SAKE!). Shame.
- spectacular fireworks on gala nights; incredible! The gala nights take place by an outside pool near the main restaurant and this is the only night they'll also serve cocktails for dinner (for those who care).
- well maintained beach, but lots of rocks/stones just below the waterline
- very nice kids club which is open from 10 am til 11 pm; lots of indoor and outdoor areas there
- beautiful hotel grounds in general

The Cons:

- stairs, stairs, stairs, no matter where you want to go. This is a pain the neck and I wouldn't want to go there with stroller-age kids or as an elderly person. All stairs are marble, and when it rains, they become death traps. VERY slippery and dangerous. We were here in late October, and we got lots of rain... No elevators anywhere.
- the hotel is very wide spread, so be prepared to WALK. A lot, rain or shine...
- they do have little carts for the employees and you do get to ride one when they take you to your room the first time (thanks to the luggage)
- the guys driving around in these carts seem to think they're Michael Schumacher; they drive so fast that people have to jump aside. Especially in fall, when it gets dark early, I saw smaller kids several times who could barely be seen, but those idiots driving around don't give a damn.
- Pools aren't heated. Not a single one of them. So if the weather is not that great anymore (as it was when we were here), you can only use them if you're rather tough. I wasn't and I felt I really got deprived of an important part of my vacation. My son (aged 7), did use them, but only for a few minutes every time, before getting out of the water with blue lips. The hotel is closed for the winter months, so I assume that's why they don't heat the pools
- as they were preparing to close shortly for the winter, they were constantly shutting down things and deconstructing them. Stages, getting rooms and buildings empty, etc.
- a lot of things that they usually offer (according to their website and to other people's comments) weren't there anymore, such as kid's lunch and dinner in the kid's club, the entertainment program (besides a very limited version), etc.
- beds were rockhard. How can anyone sleep on mattresses like that? I woke up with a sore back each morning...
- beach bar/restaurant had incredible food. Incredibly bad, that is. Bad selection, bad quality. Gee...
- shopping arcade is supposed to be upscale, but it's basically just stores offering things for about 300% of what they're worth. Maybe that's the Russian taste? I barely saw anyone going in there, so I assume people aren't dumb enough to fall for that...

So overall, I think this could have been an okay vacation had the weather been better (and the pools therefore warmer). I booked this place mainly for my son to enjoy, which he did, except for the freezing cold water. And we all know that no vacation is a good vacation if the kids don't enjoy it... So as he was fine, I was okay with it. It's an expensive place and I really think they should get their act together, but this seems to be the same at many hotels of this kind (not only in Turkey, but probably all over Europe, where 'service' is often not overrated, so to say...).

Room Tip: Pool rooms.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed staying at our hotel with your family. Would like to express our gratitude for all your positive comments about our hotel, rooms, Aquapark, Gala Night, beach, Kids Club.
We would also like to state that in case you were not satisfied with the room being on the 2nd or 3rd floor due to the stairs it would have been possible to request a room change(depending on the availability our front office department could help you with this question).
We have a shuttle service which operates around thirtieth buildings and the hotel's main area, however, according to the availability our front office members can help our guests go around our hotel with a club car.
We would like to thank you for your complaints about the fast driving was recorded and taken under consideration.

The hotel is about a 2 hour transfer from airport. The hotel is situated in town of Terikova which is about a 15 min walk from hotel reception. The hotel is right on a slightly shingle beach. The hotel claims to be 5 star but i would disagree.

Rooms
Yes the rooms are fantastic - we had a deluxe family pool room which was huge and clean. The beds are lovely and comfortable. We had a superking in the one room and the kids had a large single bed in their room - pillows were good too. Each room a has its own minibar and flat screen tv. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath as well as a separate "rain" shower. There is a minibar in the room but we had to ask to get this restocked. Hot water never gets hot and shower cubicle blocked. Only 1 TV channel for brits which is rubbish not that we planned to watch TV on hols but when weather is poor you are stuck with nothing to do. There is no provision to watch DVDs or play music in your room. The WiFi is hopeless too - it just doesn't work where you want it - doesn't work in the room, in the bar or most of the communal areas!

Food
There is a main buffet which is included in all inclusive package and most of it is fine in taste - its just a shame that the hot food is generally cold (unless you're lucky enough to get a fresh batch and have not been barged out of the way by rude Germans or Russians) and the cold food is typically at room temperature. Breakfasts typically not worth getting out of bed for, although the bread rolls are very good. Coffee is just about drinkable and as you get used to no more than lukewarm. Children love fact they can help themselves to ice-creams and cans of soft drinks. The other restaurants (i.e. the a la carte restaurants are only available if you pay a €20 per head (children half price) cover charge! which i think is outrageous - you're better off going into the town centre for food at a quarter of the price. Most of the food places were closed when we were there for October half term. The beach restaurant was open but the food was pretty poor.

Drinks
Local brand alcoholic drinks are included as well as cans of soft drinks and a good selection of cocktails. Some of the international brands you have to pay usual uk prices. The unimaginative name of the late night bar (irish pub) serves no irish drinks! and has no Guinness!

Facilities
The aquapark is brilliant for kids and there are 9 decent slides for adults / teenagers. youngervkids can also use most of the 9 slides if accompanied by an adult which is fine. There is a restaurant (closed when we were there) and a drinks bar which also seved ice-creams. There are lots of lifeguards on duty who were great with kids. There is a kids club on site but our kids did not want to use it as it felt more like a school, although it does have a good climbing frames/ ball pit area. The kids club also arrange daily football games which the kids enjoyed. There are also loads of tennis courts you can rent for about €12 for 45mins. There are lots of pools scattered around the complex with plenty of beds. There is a Spa which has lots of treatments available including its own turkish bath at usual expected prices. Guests (no children) can also use the steam room, turkish bath and saunas free of charge. There is also a games centre with some out of date arcade machines, a couple of pool tables, air hockey, table football and table tennis (all extra charges).

Entertainment
There was nothing on during the days whilst we were there. There is a daily evening show at 21.30 which were all fantasic - the children really enjoyed them. They also had live music most nights in the Irish pub which was ok.

Service
as with a lot of places the service is a bit hit and miss. Most of the staff are great with the children and attentive. There is no obvious expectation for you to tip - so only tip if you think its worth it.

Overall
The hotel is in a nice location and because it is so new everything is clean and looks like new. The rooms are great but room facilities not so good. The food is adequate (but always cold! and simply a big let down) but not what you expect for 5 star and its a bit rich that the other restaurants are charged at too high a rate. evening shows are great and aquapark is good for kids (and for adults for a small while). Staff are generally good. WiFi is useless. I'm not sure I would come back as I've stayed at much better.

Room Tip: ask for deluxe family pool rooms if travelling with children.

The hotel location is amazing, just between the sea and the Taurus mountains, which gives the hotel unbelievable view. The center of Tekirova is really close, just 5 min walk from the hotel. The rooms are big, clean, modern with a touch of exoticism. There is a one swimmingpool for every three buildings which creates a very intimate mood in the hotel and although it is very big You actually cannot feel it. It is also perfect for children offering every single service the children could dream about, even the cinema, small waterpark and mini casino.

However I have to write about the stuff, their english is horrible, there are always 5 people working at the reception desk and they are not able to answer the most basic questions. They didnt know how many rooms we had, where we had them etc. It all lasted too long. At the check in I asked three different people about the meals hours and every of them told me other thing. At the check out I asked to pick up the laguage from my room, nobody never came. I had to ask three times to give me my passport back.

And the tables and the beach restaurant were dirty all the time without any table linen as well as the place were the food was served. In such a "good" hotel the cleanless is an unquestionable basis.

I think if the hotel improoves all the faults and weak points I will definitely go back there.

My wife, duaghter and I have just returned from The Gural Premier Tekirova. We arrived at the hotel at around 10PM and there was a late night buffet available from 10PM - 2AM. We didnt eat as we were tired as although it passes quickly, the transfer is 1.5hours.

Initial impressions of the hotel were WOW! Gorgeous open reception area with marble pillars and chanderliers hanging down, fresh orange juice, apple juice, turkish delight and a massive bucket with bottles of champagne in.

Check in was very quick and we were buggied around to our room which was in a good spot, block 30 which was right opposite the water park and about 2-3 mins walk round to reception and the restaurants.

The food was really good. Not your usual cheap repatative cuts you sometimes get in all inclusive buffet style restaurants but we had freshly cooked Asian food, duck, fillet beef, there was a pizza and pasta corner, every type of fish and cheese you could think of, about 20 salad types along with about 40 different styles of sweets! Although the typical English guy would not be overawed by the breakfast, there was a great selection, again many different yogharts, jams, cheeses, meats, eggs, omlettes etc. We didnt even bother with the a'la carte restaurants as with all of this choice, there was no point.

The beach bar offered more informal eating options with burgers, hot dogs, nuggetts and pizza etc which was still wonderful quality.

POOLS - Brilliant! There is a quiet pool nearest to the beach, a very large main pool plus the AQUAPARK which was better than some I have paid £30 to get in abroard! It really is as good as others have said! There is a fantastic toddler area, a pirate ship with slides ideal for kids ages 2-7, a pirate adventure area with falling water, more slides etc that would be ideal for 7-12 year olds and then the big slides that were awesome! There was also another very large pool with bridges etc and a pool bar.

The Spa was of a very high standard. I got my wife a full body massage that she said was the best she had ever had!

There two bars around the main pool were lovely and I cant understand how the hotel makes much profit with the brands they pour! Gin was Bombay Sapphire and Gordons, Brandy was Martell and Courvoisier and Vodka was Absolue and Smirnoff!

There was also a great choice of cocktails and the champagne was nice two.

The room was lovely. We just booked a standard room and there was plenty of room for a very large double bed and a 3/4 bed that our daughter slept in. The only negative in the room was that the liht switches all have a neon light around them, even when they are off which we had to cover up as with about 10 switches, it did get a bit annoying. Our balcony was a good size which we were pleased about as next door could only just about fit a table and two chairs on, ridiculous! The bathroom was beautiful though with a jacuzzi bath, separate double shower cubical with rainfall shower and the biggest selection of products you have ever seen to include shower gel, bath foam, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, plus there was a dental kit which had toothbrushes and toothpaste, a sewing kit, a shaving kit with razors and shaving foam plus an emergency kit with tweezers, anti-bacterial wipes and the single condom was also a nice touch!!!

In the wardrobe, you could find bathrooms, slippers, shoe horn, shoe polish etc!!

The shows were so so good. The amphitheatre is massive with nearly 1000 seats and a huge stage. The shows were like something from the West End.

The fact that the beach is sand and fine pebbles did not matter at all. If you walked five minutes down the beach past the pool bar, you will see just how well looked after the beach at the Gural really is!

Full credit has to go to the staff! Apart from one horrible, miserable guy on the waterpark bar, they were all amazing. They work so hard, they are proud of where they work and are desparate to please. Only slight niggle was that although they all mean well, sometime when your little one doesnt want to say hello, they dont get the hint and keep on asking for them to smile or say hellp which annoyed my daughter but certainly not enough to put you off.

Yes the hotel is mainly full of Russians and yes they are so rude but you very rarely speak to anybody unless you really want to.

We met a couple from Scotland who just made our holiday! Their little girl was the same age as ours and they shared hours of fun in the water park whilst me and her dad drank gallons of CHAMPAGNE!!!!!!

Although this does attract children, they are well behaved and you rarely see the same people twice. Book this place up and you will not be disappointed, it is beautiful and deserves each of its five stars!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a large balcony as the small ones are pointless!

9 days spent in Gural in September. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The quality of the hotel, rooms, pool areas and beach fronts were top notch. A friend and I (two women) both went with out toddlers, and there was plenty to keep them entertained. Lovely restaurants, bars and entertainment (The kids especially loving the disco and the Lion King show). Plenty to do and never a dull moment. The black and white gala dinner was spectacular. So was the childrens fair and the white party. The decor in the hotel was absolutely beautiful. And the moutain as a backdrop... WOW!

A BIG negative for us:

The main disappointment was the photographers. Not that they were always around snapping, that didn't bother us too much as we were after some lovely photographs of the children and some group shots too. The photographers were fantastic with the children, and the children really took a shine to them. Our complaint was at the end of the holiday. When quoted £500 for 1 disc of our pictures (obviously thought that was more than a little steep for them to copy and paste our images onto a disc) but after a little negotiation they did bring the price down... slightly. But still it was far more than what we wanted to pay. But it was when we returned home after spending hundreds on just 30 pictures we found that the photographers had put all the photos on the disc in low resolution format meaning that we couldn't print them because the quality was so bad. so £400+ for 30 pictures that we can't use. GREAT! Emailed the hotel twice with no response. Very disappointed and a real downer on a fantastic holiday. Especially as all the great picture memories are wasted.

A few tiny complaints but not enough to stopp me going back again are:

Music pool side far too loud. I'm 27 so consider myself a spring chicken, but i'd be a deaf one at that if i lounged near the one pool long enough.

Service in the main restaurant was rubbish. Having to ask for high chairs constantly (waiters would go off for sometime 10-15 minutes to look for one!) and having to ask for a drink in a 5* all inclusive hotel is just not good enough. The ONLY times we were ever offered a drink was by a lovely young waiter called Haken.

Also steps into the breakfast restaurant with two toddlers was a nightmare!

~

With the photography side of things aside. I'd give it a 9 1/2 out of 10 :)

We spent our holiday there in August.
The hotel is really nice, with really pretty view (mountains, the see). I really loved their beach: not too hot, not too breezy...so perfect to stay there whole day!
My daughter loved the swimming pools and the slides!
But the cuisine was a bit weak, because there wasn't a wide choice of dishes, and what we found was rather heavy dishes. In the restaurants the waiters filled up the plates only ones or twices...and than you can find just the empty plates, without any dishes!!!
Ones we arrived at the main restaurant almost in the lunch finish...and when we would like to choose dessert we realized that all the waiters and chefs are collected all the foods!! They didn't wait with the closing till everybody left the restaurants!!! I'VE NEVER MET WITH SUCH AS IMPOLITE BEHAVIOR!!!!
Half of the staff (waiters, londiner, reception, etc.) was very kind and really nice, BUT the another 50% of them was really HICK, IMPOLITE...and gave the feeling that you are not wellcome!
So, this hotel can be a great choice, because they have everything to serve a fantastic holiday to you...but at the moment they have a very weak staff for it! :-(((

Room Tip: You can't choose bad room! All of them are new and really pretty&comfortable! If you want a...
