We shared the lunch specials laid out in trays in the front window. Fresh, simple dishes with great mezze. A relief from the large in your face eateries on so many of Kusadasi's bazzar streets. Good value, nice atmosphere.

This was our second time here, and once again it did not disappoint.

Great friendly service, excellent food, and generous portions.

Ahmet is a great host. Very friendly.

The "meatballs" (a stack of potato, ground beef, tomato, and a sliver of pepper) are phenomenal.

So we're the kabobs, the beef stew, the bread...well, everything.

If you come here, this is the place to eat. Don't miss it!

Reasonably good traditional Turkish food. One must go in time that is around 7-9 PM as we got late and reached at 11 PM and very less choice was available for dinner. prices are standard. staff is good and speaks reasonable English.

My wife and I were in town following our exscursion to Ephesus during our Mediterranean cruise. We were greeted outside by the host. He showed us all the food they had to offer and even gave us a sample of the turkey kabob. We had a green bean salad, stuffed eggplant, a spicy kabob and a lamb shish kabob. They were all excellent. The prices were very reasonable and the service was very good. I highly recommend Avlu if you're in the area.

Kusadasi is a touristic and bustling town, filled with restaurants and bars, many of which try to cater for every taste bud, some assuming that you would like to eat home from home. However, when we travel, we want to eat local. Avlu was recommended to us by the owners of the hotel we were staying at and so tried it out early on in our stay. We were not disappointed.

After looking at the menu my partner and I were not sure what to have, and so the owner welcomed us inside to look at what was available on the deli style counter. In the end he suggested that we could have a bit of everything in true mezze style. It was absolutely delicious, particularly the sea beans and the mezze was accompanied by warm, freshly cooked bread.

We both had kebabs for main, chicken and lamb shish respectively, served with rice, chips and salad all of which was of a high quality. The whole meal was such great value for money, the owner was a genuinely nice guy and it was so good we returned on the final night of our stay.

For us, this was the best place to eat in Kusadasi.
