Just returned from a 7 night stay at the pine bay resort it's a 10 minute taxi ride into kusadasi and it's situated on a steep hill.

We stayed in a seaview hotel room which was spacious and comfortable, however the bathroom needs a refurbishment the shower leaked all over and the hairdryer was lethal it hardly blew any hot air out and it burnt my hand after using it for literally 2 minutes!!!! Health and safety clearly not at it's best here!!!

Also there was NO AIR CON until June was told it wouldn't be switched on until then which was ridiculous as it was so hot and stuffy when u was getting ready and we had to sleep with the patio door open at night which is not great with a 3 year old whose bed was situated near the door!! This is not acceptable in a 4*!!!

Our friends stayed in the bungalows which although they had been refurbished they're extremely small for a family of 4 and their shower also leaked everywhere, also there are no patio doors so u have only got a window so nowhere to sit or get any fresh air in, found this very strange!!

The resort is VERY HILLY so I hope your fit as it's a trek across the resort to get to the waterpark, beach etc.

Food:

Breakfast was not great, you could get cereal, toast, croissants etc but no fresh fruit or yoghurts and no omelettes!!! Only fried eggs and strange pink scrambled eggs!! You also had to pay 8tl for a fresh orange juice!!!!

Snack bars served burgers dripping in grease, chips, pizza and spag Bol that was it!! If u wanted something decent to eat you had to go to the main restaurant.

Food at night was actually quite tasty and they had themed nights eg Turkish, Mexican etc but food was always just warm I found.

Most of the staff looked about 12 and didn't speak English so found this hard work when trying to get a glass of wine etc!!

Pools:

The main pool near the hotel had one bar and snack bar and was just below the main restaurant, also this is where they served icecream at 4pm everyday which resulted in a massive queue and free for all as everyone ran to get one and there was only one man serving it was ridiculous!!

The waterpark had one bar that only serves soft drinks NO BEER or food so you have to trek all the way over to the other side of the resort for lunch, this spoilt it really as near the waterpark they have kids pools, a play area with swings etc which is really nice and if they served food we would of stayed here all day.

Entertainment:

The animation team that did the kids disco were really good this started at 9pm for 45 mins and the kids loved it BUT I'm afraid that's as far as it goes!!

The 1st nights entertainment at 945 (so obviously there was lots of kids and teenagers still watching) consisted of 2 men one dressed up as a woman, layin in bed on the stage and play acting sexual activity in different countries and one man even producing a toy gun to shoot at the man as he was having an affair with his wife!! I mean seriously I'm no prude but I found it totally disgusting that this is supposed to be entertainment in a 4* for family's what a joke!!

A la carte experience in the Turkish restaurant was a compete Nitemare!! We was booked in for 8 o'clock and at 930 I was still waiting for a plate of chips for my 3 year old who by this time was starving and tired!! None of our party got anything we ordered we all ended up with the same kids meals the waiter couldn't even speak English so in the end we all left hungry and annoyed!!!

I am a travel agent and have stayed in many resorts ranging in stars and quality but this has got to be one of the poorest hotels I've been to. It should be a 3* as in my opinion it fell very short of a 4* standard. Any questions I'll be pleased to answer them.

We went with Thomas cook to this resort returning on sunday 18th may we stayed for 10 days, although the hotel and the staff were excellent we found the buffet although plentiful and displayed beautifully would have been better if it had been at least warm at the best could be described as being tepid !!We were informed that we could have the pleasure of booking a la carte durning our stay this was not possible as these resturants were not open.Because of the remote position of the resort there was nowhere to go outside the complex if you wanted a change of scene you had to go to Kasdusai cente by bus (these are very cheap). If on the other hand your just wanted to stay within the complex there are plently of snack bars and drinks available ,although we enjoyed our stay we will not be going back.

We arrived late on our first night but were pleasantly surprised when we woke up and saw how beautiful pine bay is.the staff and service is fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and kind. We couldn't find one fault with the place at all. I have three children aged from 15-3 and they all loved it as there is plenty to do for everyone. The animation team are amazing lovely people who make you feel very comfortable and they fuss over the kids also. All in all our best holiday ever and we will definitely be returning next year as we were sad to leave.
