“My trip to turkey with Cosmos”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

I had the unfortunate experience of staying here for two nights.
Unfriendly staff, bad rooms which have not been renovated for years.
Our bathroom roof was leaking. First room was stinking of urine. When I reported, the response was gusts do not normally complain!
On the morning baggage was put out at 0645 even though it needed to be done only at 0700. When we returned after breakfast the luggage was still there. When enq the bell boy was rude and told us that the luggage was not put out in time. Will I stay here again. No. In the web site it is a 3 star hotel. Cosmos claims it to be 4 star. Puzzling!
I wonder why Cosmos use this hotel. Either they don't care or hoping that the hotel will take note. I had a look at the older reviews. Things have got worse.
Only positive was the breakfast Buffett

I visited thiis hotel for two nights as part of a small touring party looking at Turkey's historical sights. It was very busy with other tour parties but despite this the reception was not noteably swamped with queues.

The meals were buffet style with a good with a large choice of options. Breakfast was a buffet also with cooked eggs etc.

The rooms were spacious and clean and did not seem dated to me (as per another comment). The only issue I had with the room was that the safe was not fixed to a wall meaning it could be lifted up and taken.

Public areas OK and staff very helpful. The pool are was large and spacious.

Room Tip: try to get a room away from the lifts.

Our view out our room was beautiful! The Aegean Sea didn't disappoint. We watched cruise ships come and go. The hotel is very spacious, clean and inviting. Staff was helpful and breakfast big and varied. Close to the market and many restaurants. A bit of a hike up to the hotel on foot but didn't mind after a big meal. Would have liked to enjoy the pool but ran out of time. Would recommend. Side note: I was very sad to see the awful shape the beach was in. Trash and very dirty. So sad! All those cigarette butts really took away the beauty of the beach. Again, very sad!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room so you can see the Aegean.

We stayed at the Grand Onder Hotel at Kusadasi as part of the arrangements made by One Nation Travels for our 4 Day Cappadoccia, Pamukalle and Ephesus tour in late April 2014.
The Hotel itself though a bit dated in appearance and requiring refurbishment, is actually quite comfortable with spacious rooms and terrific water views from the lovely balcony, based on which side of the building you are placed. The free WiFi, swimming pool facilities, bar, spacious dining room and plenty of relaxation areas on the ground floor are added bonuses.
Breakfast is very average with egg preparations being the only hot item and virtually no vegetarian choices. Some simple hash browns and baked beans would have gone a long way in pleasing guests at minimal cost to the hotel.
The dinner too, though a good spread for some, has a very limited range for vegetarians.
the hotel is located close to shopping etc but is a pretty steep walk back.
Suggestions for improvement:
It would help if the dining room and reception staff had a bit more friendlier look and had a more cheerful disposition instead of the grim, serious and unfriendly look as though guests were a nuisance. They were however helpful alright.
When you are charging a pretty high room rate, I fail to understand the need to charge for every bottle of water, though its is 2 TL for a 500ml bottle, I am sure this was not neccessary?
At the reception one does not get a very comfortable feeling. Even a simple smile would go a long way in making guests happy and welcome.
All the same, we did enjoy our stay here and the feedback we have given above is just food for thought to take the service up several notches as the basic framework for the hotel is excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a water view facing room

We were booked into this hotel by the tour company and I had my doubts from reading trip advisor. Buffet dinner and breakfast were good especially if you like vegetables. Room, was large with balcony and view over the harbour.Quiet. Comfortable large double bed and good size bathroom. Something sticky on the carpet! Staff rather unfriendly but otherwise quite an adequate hotel.

Room Tip: get a room with a sea view

We stayed 2 night on a group tour. Hotel was ok. Staff not friendly or helpful. Charged full price for drinks bought during happy hour. Needed to check our bill carefully and then they were reluctant to take off extra charges. Will not stay again

Pleasant hotel, fair sized room with clean comfortable bed. Free wifi that worked well. If you have a room on a higher floor at the front you also have a balcony with really beautiful sea view. A great place to sit and watch the sunset.Although the hotel is well placed for the shops and restaurants it is part way up a steep hill so it is a bit of a climb when you come back from the town. The evening buffet and breakfast was limited and average apart from the breakfast omelette cooked fresh by the chef.
