We have just returned from The Grand Blue Sky hotel. At first we
were a little anxious after reading some of the reviews but know that everybody is different so decided to give it a go. The hotel is in a fantastic location and no matter which room you get you will always have a sea view. The grounds are very well maintained with no litter or damaged paving and lots of green grass and flowers. The pool area is very clean and well maintained. There are 3 pools - one is very deep, one you can stand up in and also has a swim up bar and there is a childrens pool with a slide and a teddy club area in the shade for children to colour and play games.

The food is very well prepared and there is a lot of food on offer. However, if you are a fussy eater you may struggle as there is very little english food on the menu. There is a snack bar open during the day where you can get burgers and chips etc and you can get savoury turkish pancakes between 11:00 and 16:00 which are absolutely amazing.
The only downside is that ice-cream is only served between 17:00 - 18:00 and you are limited to two each.

The staff were friendly but beware of some of the other guests at the hotel. The guests mainly consisted of Iranians and we found some of them to be very rude always pushing in at the bar and for ice cream.

The rooms are very spacious with a massive king size bed and there is a lot of wardrobe and drawer space for your clothes. The balconies are the biggest i have seen and they all have fantastic views. The maid service was excellent with the rooms being cleaned every day and fresh bottles of water supplied in the fridge every day.

The entertainment team were very good during the day. There was water aerobics, pool dances, darts, table tennis and water polo throughout the day. However, the night-time entertainment was not very good. The shows were only put on between 22:00-23:00 so before this and after there is very little to do at the hotel. We spent a couple of nights on ladies beach promenade which is only a 5 minute walk away from the hotel and has lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.

There is also a sauna and turkish baths which is free to use but there are also other things on offer such as massages. We paid a very good price to have a sauna, turkish bath, peeling (which takes all your dead skin off), a foam massage and a face mask and i have to say it was absolutely fantastic and well worth the money.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday. The hotel in our opinion is a four star not a five but we would return again and would definitely recommend it.

Blue sky may fall behind a 5 star in terms of elegance and decore, but its huge clean rooms and the lovely green area around it, cover up. Even if you spend a whole week inside, you will not be bored with the beautiful views as the hotel faces the sea and has beautiful little cafes and bars all around the premises. In Bluesky, all rooms have sea view so possibly you get one without negotiating or paying extra. The hotel is not in the middle of the town but is close enough to shops and the ladies beach. Show area is a bit small but the animation team is greatly entertaining, especially for the children. The hotel is honest with pictures on their website, the room we got looked exactly like the picture we had seen on their website. The staff are very kind and hardworking, always with a smile. We had a great time and we are ready to go back anytime!

Room Tip: No bathrobe or slippers in the room

We went to The Grand Blue Sky for ten nights at the beginning of June. I was a bit worried as the reviews didnt seem great but we were pleasantly surprised.

Firstly, the rooms are very good. They are really big and the balconies are huge! You have full use of the fridge and safe box (have had to pay for both of these in other all inc's before!) and the fridge is stocked with bottled water daily (also free!) They are not the most up to date and could probably do with a lick of paint but that personally didnt bother us!

The hotel is on a hill but its not quite as bad as it seems. There are lots of steps heading down to the beach but there are also ramps most of the way down. The new decking area and beach bar were beautiful! The beach is a bit stoney but the water is so clear and warm! The water activities are good, with free canoes and pedal boats between 10-12 and 2-4. There are also jet ski's, banana boats etc but at an additional cost. The animation team also organise activities on the beach.

The pool area was great! The pools are very deep, the lower pool with the swim up snack bar isn't quite as deep and there is also a childrens pool and Teddy Club where the children can sit in the shade and play games, draw etc and the club has childrens toilets.
Plus you will be given a towel card when you check in- you hand this in at the pool and will be given big beach towels, hand them back and get your card back for next time.

The animation team are amazing- Gizmo, Tarzan, Karim ,Sahin and Batu. They are all so friendly and made such a fuss of our two children. Around the pool everyday is the pool dance, darts, water polo and even salsa one day! They would all make an effort with you, sit and chat, play in the pool and really made you feel at home.

The pool snack bar is really good-freshly made pizzas, burgers and chips all day! There is also another snack bar on the way down to the beach which offers freshly made turkish pancakes. Another bar serves tea, coffee, hot chocolate with biscuits and cakes between 5-6.

The food was by far the best I have had in all inclusives before! Breakfast was mainly continental with breads, croissants, fresh fruit, cheese and salad. There was also boiled eggs and also freshly made to order omlettes everyday and occasionly fresh pancakes and scrambled eggs, but there was no english breakfast.
Lunch and dinner had such a great choice of salads, meats and veg and always something freshly cooked on the grill outside. The puddings were definitely the best Ive had!

The many bars are all great, the Umbrella bar is lovely to sit at to watch the sunset but can be very slow at times, we found the lobby bar service to be much better. Cocktails are all lovely and we found the measure to be very generous! Their local beer is also very good, not watered down like you find in most all inclusives!

The evening entertainment is great for kids and adults- a mini disco every night followed by the main entertainment-turkish dancers, comedy night, bingo.

There is also a beach disco every night from 11-1 (the bar closes at 1am but the disco continues til early hours!) The lobby bar is open til 6am so the all inclusive is almost 24hours!

The hotel also has photographers around day and night, taking some amzing photos which you can then purchase. Johnny, one of the photographers, was lovely and not only took some lovely sunset photos of our children but also took time out to sit and chat with you, play with the kids etc.

The hotel is within walking distance of Ladies Beach with restaurants and shops, and a dolmus can pick you up right outside the hotel to take you to the bazaars, harbour etc. all for 2 lira each.

All in all we had an amazing holiday and would love to go back again!

We stayed in the Grand Blue Sky hotel for a week in June 2011. The hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the sea and has a variety of facilities with swimming pools and a private beach.
The rooms are spacious and all have a balcony with sea view. The decor is not the most up-to-date type but its functional and has all you can need in a holiday hotel with air conditioning in each room. The bathroom was spacious as well with a bath tube and shower above.
The rooms were all very clean and the housekeeping seemed to be working well. the room had a fridge to use and bottled water was provided on a daily basis which it was very much appreciated.
The restaurant was well supplied with all kinds of food from the region, salads, fresh vegetables and fruit, a different meat/fish on the grill every lunchtime and dinner time, hot buffet. Like in all inclusive facilities, after a while, it starts getting a bit repetitive but I don't think that can be helped. There are also snack facilities running throughout the day and drinks are served in the different bars almost 24 hours a day.
The staff were mostly very nice and polite but they all worked really hard and long hours which showed in some instances. But mostly, very pleasant and very nice.
My 3 year old son received lots of attention from all the staff and they all made a fuss of him. He particularly enjoyed the Teddy Club where the staff were extremelly nice and caring. The whole of the entertainment team was very committed and maintained their involvement and engagement with the guests throught the stay.
I recommend the spa facility as well. If not the kind and type we are used in the UK or other european countries, the turkish bath is highly recommended and done in the traditional way and the full body massage was to die for! And very cheap compared to the prices of spas and treatments in the UK.
The hotel has its faults as well as any place of that type will have and won't suit every person but in the whole, a good place to spend a week in the sun.
P.S. The trip to Ephesus is highly recommended as well... but where sunblock and a hat!

Room Tip: Block C has the best views.
