Perhaps it determines it's own star rating? Anyway, don't expect a 4 star and you'll be fine. We were put here as part of an organised tour of Turkey. This seems to be a hotel that survives by catering to tour groups, small and large. On that basis, it does the job well. Clean, efficient, and we found the staff very helpful. And, anyway, who comes to Kusadasi for a 4 star hotel? It's a mass tourism resort, with a constant flow of cruise ships disgorging passengers to buy turkish delight, eat at burger king and go to see the ruins of Ephesus. Actually, we liked Kusadasi, and only had to walk a few yards back from the main waterfront to find relaxing, friendly local spots. It's a lovely 15 minute walk up through small alleyways to the statue of Attaturk on the hill overlooking the town.

I was quiet nervous arriving at this hotel as it was so cheap so was not expecting alot!! But was pleasantly surprised to find we got great value for money firstly the location is great it is in centrum but not in the very middle of everything so it's quiet, we had a gorgeous view of the sea from our room. You can get the dolmus bus right across the road to ladies beach and they run every 10mins. The swimming pool was very small. They have a spa aswell I got a massage which was good. There are gorgeous restaurants in Kusadasi and as this was my 2nd to visit I actually didn't eat in the derici! But the atinc next door is lovely. All on all if your going on a holiday where you plan not to move from the pool this may not be the hotel for u! But if u plan on seeing the area and aren't interested in the pool to much this place is excellent value (we booked through alpharoom.com) and brilliant location!

We stayed at the Derici from October 23rd-24th. The hotel is located by the harbour in the main centre of Kusadasi (Centrum) Rooms were very clean, Bit dated but this didn't bother us. Mini Bar, Tv, Air-con, Balcony and Bathroom. We were given a sea view room on the 5th floor it was gorgeous. I would definetly stay here again as the staff were very friendly, helpful and the location of the hotel is perfect. we had dinner in the hotel restaurant also and it was adequate nothing too major. All in all I found this hotel to be exactly what I wanted and I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for a few days on a half board basis. Not an exciting resort hotel but clean with acceptable meals (generally buffet) and very helpful staff. Probably too near the centre of town for a quiet break in high season but ideal for us in early October. Roof top pool and basement hammam and sauna.

we have just got back from a week at the derici, we had previously read the reviews on here and found that a lot of people had said that they found the staff in this hotel rude and unhelpfull. what a load of tosh!! from the minute we arrived, the staff were extremely helpful , i asked for a sea view room and offered to pay any extra to be moved, they didnt have any available at that time, but as soon as one became available 2 hours later the staff came to find us, and moved us. at NO ADDED COST!! .the hotel is lovely, very clean, the carpets are a tiny bit grubby but then when you take into consideration that the hotel is full all season, this is totally understandable. The maids are polite and considerate, and all the reception staff, porters etc had a laugh with us, nothing was too much trouble for them. great hotel, fab staff, great location .would definately go again .

We have been to Turkey 14 times and we found this the best hotel to date, the staff were brill from the recepion to the bar. The rooms are very spacious and clean even though a little dated the bathroom was a good size with a small bath which was lovely after a long day on the beach ( bliss). We went on 3 boat trips all inclusive, a small gullet called the amores we booked this across at the bar on the front with the owner of the boat called Hassan it was £25 each and worth every penny with only 25 adults on board it was magic, on our first day out we saw the dolphins it was amazing. If you wont a good fed go no further then out the hotel turn let and go to Pams cheap and plenty. We went to Izmir for the day on the bus( go to the bus station on the no 1 dolmus to get the bus they run every half hour )what a amazing day that was we recommend this day out a nice change from the beach etc, it is steeped in history. we went on the tourist open topped tour bus, a great way to see the sitesof the city.We will defo go back to this hotel.

Stayed in Kusadasi last year at Paloma Rina Apartments and passed this hotel every night. Ideally located just on the fringe of Centrum, 5 minutes walk into the town. Hotel spotlessly clean, food at the hotel excellent, service great. Pool is on the roof top with a small hotel bar where snacks can be ordered for lunch good value - but better value can be found in resort centre, but for those like me who like to laze by pool ideal. The music they played round the pool left a little to be desired but after 10 days we found ourselves singing along... and missed it on our return to England. Loads of restaurants to chose from in Resort - great little cafe/restaurant just round corner from Derici called PAMs do excellent full English and Sunday Roast. Bar street ten minutes walk away max where loads of IRISH bars can be found.... typical nightlife - rocking til 6.00am but there are loads of places for a more sedate drink if you prefer. Ladies Beach is a Dolmus ride away and great for a change from the pool. Lovely restuarants along the beach front. All in all fab holiday cannot wait to go back!
