Having been delayed at Luton Airport for three hours, and after a two and a half hour coach trip (this is the average apparently) from Bodrum Airport (we would use Izmir next time) we reached the Derici Hotel at 3am. The night receptionist was very polite and quick, and the porter escorted us to our room with the luggage.

We had booked the only available room option from our tour operator, a standard double room. I had emailed the hotel in advance to politely request a front sea view balcony room (I didn't mention money) which I had heard were favourable and the Manager had replied, "We will do our best to fulfill your requirements." Whilst packing and endeavouring to keep the weight to a minimum, I emailed again to ask if the room was supplied with complimentary soap/shower gel etc. and the hotel replied "We will do our best to fulfill your requirements!!!"

Just imagine our delight with us being let into our spotless, recently refurbished and good sized room with a flat panel TV set flush into a lage wall mirror. The bathroom was fully tiled, shiny and immaculate (and had liquid soap dispesers over the sink and bath). The porter then opened the curtains and patio door onto the balcony and WOW. There before us was the night time vista of the cruise harbour, seafront and the whole of the bay down to the marina. Result :-)

This said, there were a few nocturnal noises from the street below and although my wife slept like a log, and I was happy, it took me a while to settle. I had however, left the patio door open because it prevented the air conditioning blowing un-necessary hot air into the room (the very helpful, English speaking receptionist gave me the controller the next morning after which everything worked fine). On subsequent nights, other nocturnal sounds could occasionaly be heard (by me) from the adjacent rooms and this is really my only criticism.

Breakfast was of the buffet variety with a reasonable choice and we could eat and drink as much we wanted; the dining room staff (as all the others) were very pleasant.

We are an active couple and so we spend most of our time out and about trying to fit in as much as possible, but our little balcony was fantastic as we sat for part of most evenings with a bottle of beer or wine and watched the world go by and at other times the cruise ships coming and going.

We only used the rooftop pool once but it was crystal clear and the area was kept tidy and had fantastic views all round.

Getting about was great, being at the heart of the resort, very close to a couple of 'dolmus' stops and with the old town, shops and restaurants right on your door step. There is an entertainment stage on the promenade almost opposite the hotel and some evenings you would come back to loud music and dancing, but this never went on past about 11pm and was quite interesting.

This is not the destination for a totally quiet, relaxing break, but, if you like to be in a very well managed, clean hotel in a vibrant and alive location this is the place for you. We absolutely loved it and if in Kusadasi again, would not hesitate to re-book at the Derici Hotel and highly reccommend it. At £550 in total, including flights, one 20kg suitcase and car parking (we paid extra for independant shuttle transfer), our requirements were definitely fulfilled.

Thank you to the management and staff :-)

Room Tip: It has to be one of the front facing balcony rooms for us, alhough I imagine the further back side f...

Stayed 1 week in room 116 facing the the seaside. If you like to sit on the balkon and watch the life goes by on the street and the sea side and watch the perfect sunset, this is the perfect room, however it Can Quiet noisy in the nights. Breakfast was borring but sufficient. Dinner was even more dull but taken into account that we only paid approx 7 EUR Per meal you can't expect to much. The room has been recently renovated (tv, beds, wallpaper etc) however the carpet must have been forgotten in the process. The location of the hotel is perfect with only a few minuttes walk from the center. Cleaning was above average since bedsheets and Towers were changed the 3 times Where we accepted cleaning. Staff were very friendly and helpfull.

Room Tip: Room # x02 to x06 facing the backyard (east) room # x07 to x12 facing sidesteet (north) room # x13...

Our travel agent booked us this hotel and it comes with breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast was okay, nothing much, but at least it help us get started for a full day tour. But dinner?? Oh my... if we had known the quality that we'll be getting and (even) pay for it, we would directly say NO!

So my suggestion to you, fellow travelers, book your room in this hotel but not the meal.

Room was of a good size. Ours has a seaview and it was just amazing waking up every morning to the sound of seagulls and watching yachts and cruiseships ashore.
Location also excellent. Right on the seafront. You can walk 5-10 minutes and stroll the area around Kusadasi. Good markets, many seafood restaurants, and lively night clubs.

Our mistake was to have booked half board...
The breakfast is opened at 7.00 am. The waiter appeared at 7.15 am with his street cloth to start setting the breakfast.
Very basic food for a so called 4 star property. We had more choice in guest houses. As for the dinner, I can't remember the last time I left the room and went to eat outside.
For starters four or five choices that you eat everywhere. For the main course, a chicken breast fried to death with cold, hard chips in a chaffing dish...

The room had a great view over the beach, decently appointed, clean and the people at the front desk friendly, unlike the waiters in the restaurant, two of them who seemed totally overwhelmed to take care of three tables. One had to call them to have the dirty plates cleaned off the table or for drinks orders.
There are enough other hotels to try before I decide to go back

This is a clean and comfortable hotel and you can feel secure staying here for a great price. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning which enabled us to get on the road quickly each morning. The front desk was very helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit. We were able to see many of the great temples and historic sites using this as our home base. You can scout around the alleys and streets and find very reasonable restaurants or you can eat along the sea and spend more to eat at an upscale restaurant. One great thing is that there is no smoking inside the restaurants just out in the front seating.

Room Tip: We went online to book for a good price but were given an ocean front room with great views. It may...
