Stayed in The Golden Moon from 8th sept to 15th....Having read reviews on here before I went, I have to say I was abit dubious about Golden Moon...However, I was pleasantly surprised...Rooms were basic but clean...Cleaned EVERY day and fresh towels everyday....Food was very reasonable and nice. But the most endearing feature of this hotel were the staff...The reception staff, night porter, waiters and bar staff were a credit to the hotel. You could not meet a nicer, friendlier and most helpful bunch of people. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It is for this reason that I shall return to Golden Moon on my next visit to kusadasi. The only drawback to this hotel is that it is perched up a very very steep hill but this was not a problem as the dolmus ran almost past its front door so access to centre of Kusadasi was frequent, flexible and very cheap....Looking forward to my next stay at Golden Moon... :-)

Nice hotel / good bed (not very long although: 1.90 meters - but long enough for me).
Room was cleaned every day very well.
Bedlinen and towels were not changed every day - but we knew this on beforehand - so we could take some of our own stuff.
The personnel at the reception-desk spoke good English / had some minor troubles with other personnel - but we did not have big troubles because of that.
We had dinner on our last evening in Turkey - my wife asked for baklava for desert: "we will have that for you tomorrow" - "but we will be back home then" - so specially for her somebody went to town on his motorcycle to buy baklava: what a service!
Free wifi in the hotel-lobby and pc''s available for a very low rate per hour.
To get to town you needed to go down and up a very steep slope - for us no big trouble / and you can always take a dolmus!

Room Tip: We were in room 202 : backside of the building / think this is more quiet than the other rooms / bus...

I spent one week at the Golden Moon appartment hotel in Kusadasi with my sister. Our expectations were not high- having already read a few reviews and seen some pictures of the place. Golden Moon was pretty much what we expected- maybe even slightly better!

However, we ran into some serious troubles with the hotel staff. On the second day of our trip we noticed that the cleaners had been touching our things and even throwing some stuff away! They had taken our shampoo, conditioner, showergel and other hygiene products out of the plastic bags they were in and they threw away them. They also threw away/stole my sisters ear plugs. We contacted our travel agency Neckermann and told them we are afraid to leave anything on the tables etc in the apartment. We wanted to change hotels which would have cost us more or less 100 euros (!!!).
We thought, that the least the hotel management can do is to reimbourse the money for the earplugs. When we talked about this to the manager he was shocked and was not willing to help us in any way. He even called us thieves (no idea why...).
For the rest of the trip the manager did not even look at us.
We also had a problem with the staff at the pool as they told us we were not allowed to drink our own water by the pool. We thought it was absolutely ridiculous!!! They wanted us to buy our water at the pool bar. Never ever have I been told I was not allowed to drink my own water by the pool area, and I have travelled to all kinds of places in my life...

We were very disappointed with how we were treated as this hotel. We will never go there again nor would we recommend this place to anyone.
We were not treated like paying customers at all, but as scumbags who were making things up...
I rate this hotel with 2 stars only because the rooms and the pool area were OK.

Room Tip: if you necessary need to stay here, ask for a room on the seventh floor, facing the sea. Very nice v...

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the golden moon from the 4th aug - 11th aug 2012. We didnt enjoy it at all. The pool area was very nice but other than that is was a disgrace. Firstly the food in the hotel was horrible and there certainly was not 24 hour room service as we tried gettin it at 2am and were told we couldnt. We were also charged a €40 euro deposit for a safe for the week and didnt get any of it back even though a sign on the wall said €2 per day so we were overcharged. Our room was most definately not up to standard, our hairdryer was not working all week, there was no hot water at any time and the cups, plates etc were filthy. The over all room was filthy. Our light bulb blew one of the days and it took them two days to change it for us. There was grime all over the taps and shower. Our towels were changed once all week and that was only because i left them on the ground for the cleaning staff to see and Our bed sheets were not changed at all. Over all we were highly dissapointed with the golden moon and would certainly never stay there again and would most definately not reccomend it to anybody.

we just returned from the golden moon for two weeks in july, and we had our sheets changed everyday apart from the days we told the maid not to come in. The maid couldnt do enough she even did our dishes. As for the night staff on recp sleeping, well every night we came home he was wide awake on the computer and he was pleasant and very helpful to us. All of the staff were really helpful, the pool and bar staff were good laugh esp tiger and aidan, we got on with everyone within the hotel and we are girls at 18 years, they werent creepy towards us at all they had a laugh with us. The hotel didnt say nothing to us about bringing stuff in from the local supermarket. Your hotels what you make it, with a clean bed, clean pool and nice cheap food at the pool what more can you want. the location is good as you walk down and your at bar street so no taxis are needed. We will be returning!

Absolute disgrace of a hotel we were 8 girls staying in this hotel for 2 weeks. We didn't get 1 fresh sheet for the 2 weeks and we got 2 towels between 4 people every 4 days and when we asked for more we were told no. We weren't allowed buy water in the hotel shop and drink it by the pool. we had to buy more water from the pool bar and bring the drink we bought in the hotel shop upstairs Even though they were both in the hotel. The night time staff were so creepy we felt so uncomfortable we didn't spend anytime in the hotel literally just slept there. The receptionist was always asleep and didn't speak a word of English.we were asked to stay in one night for there own entertainment night but had to pay 5lira to stay in our own hotel. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel absolutely brutal no manners, horrible food just overall ignorance.!

Don't know where to start with this place!! The worst problem is probably the cleanliness! Our bathroom was just horrible, scummy taps and a mouldy looking drain in the shower that would overflow all over the bathroom! For a room that your are supposed to clean yourself in, it couldn't be worse! The standard of the room in general was low with no clean sheets on the bed for our whole 2 week stay and clean towels every 4 days if your lucky - asking for some in the meantime isnt an option! The staff, especially the pool bar and restaurant staff are rude and creepy with little english! The night porter was a joke, so unhelpful and usually asleep! All of the male staff with the exception of who we assume was the owner, were sleazy and very intimidating to our group of girls! They would also hassle us to stay in the hotel at night to eat as they were so money hungry - they even charge €5 pp for the entertainment at night!!! If this isnt bad enough the little shop beside reception was selling half bottles of sun cream obviously left behind by people! Air con and a safe are charged for by the week and you cannot bring as much as a bottle of water to the pool you must buy it at the pool! I don't know how anyone has a good word to say about this place, I could go on but I've highlighted the major problems! Would never stay here again when I return to Kusadasi!
