We have just returned from 10 days at this hotel. The Hotel is lovely and very clean, the reception staff are very pleasant, although some spoke very little english. The Guest Relation girl did not speak any english at all. The rooms were ok, the wardrobes were very small in height for long hanging clothes and not enough hangers. But were brought some when we asked.
There are 2 pools , one being a relaxing pool, which was quite difficult to completely have peace and quiet when the hotel next door has its music and activities really loud.
The quests are multi cultural, English, Turkish,Polish, Russian and Iranians. Some of the guests were extremely rude people to the staff of the hotel and to other guests. I race in particular. Aggressive and angry looking people.
The Hotel could do with having air con in the reception area, restaurant and the bar as it was extremely hot and unpleasant to sit for long periods there. WiFI is free in the reception area only, we paid the extra to have WIFI anywhere, although typically this dropped in and out depending on where you were.
The Food was very samey and lets the hotel down immensely. It is definitely not 5 star food. The evening meal was basically a mixed up version of the lunch that was left over. The food was bad quality chicken and turkey. There was no bacon for breakfast and baked beans that were like bullets.mostly everything is cold where the guests do not shut the lids. I found myself going round shutting the lids to turn around and find them open again. There was no member of staff making sure that all the food was topped up, so there was more often than not empty containers. The table cloths were stained and not changed after each guest had vacated the table. We had to ask on numerous occasions for the table to be cleared from the previous guests. The staff need more training to serve. We ended up eating out in the evening at a fantastic little taverna/cafe which was literally out of the hotel turn right and walk under the bridge that goes across the road and there it was on the right hand side. Ismail is the owner and his Dog Oscar who meets and greets everyone. The food was exceptional and reasonable. It is a must visit it is called REIS Cafe and Restaurant. Please ignore the cafe that is immediately outside the front of the hotel as the food was not very good in there. So we didn't fully utilize the all inclusive as we wanted to eat some decent food at least once a day.
Unfortunately a man drowned in the pool while we there, we witnessed the whole thing it was horrendous. The pool at 1 end is 10ft deep, which I think is too deep anyway.
A guest hauled the man out and gave CPR while the life guards ran around like headless chickens. The Doctor was called from the hotel ( probably while she was on her fag break, in full view of the guests.)she arrived with a fluid bag on wheels but NO Defibrillator and took over the CPR from the hotel Guest.Paramedics arrived with Defibrillators but needed electricity power, so life guards, staff ran around trying to find extension leads. Eventually the man was taken to hospital but unfortunately after the 1st 5 mins he had already passed away. It was an absolute nightmare of disorganization. After this incident I watched the life guards from time to time , most times there was only 1 of them, maybe 2 on a good day. They were supposed to watch the 2 pool areas and the beach area. This is impossible task to ask them to do. we all know that it only takes a second for a tragedy to occur. On speaking to another guest he told me that 2 days after this incident he dragged a little girl out that was in trouble in the pool, where was the life guards then ?? They spent a lot of their time in the pool bar areas in the shade checking their phones. The Life Guards need to be highly trained to protect the guests. This was not the case.
What with this incident and the tasteless food , we were quite glad to go home safely.
If the Hotel could sort the food and staff issues making it a 5 star deluxe as opposed to a 3 star for its food, it would make a much more enjoyable holiday. Until then we will not be returning.
