We spent a much needed week's rest at the Pigale at the end of August and chose the hotel both for the good price and also we went there before 8 years ago and liked it then. It is noticeable that the immediate area has gone down since with no restaurants nor shops and indeed the beach was worse than we remembered it (not helped by my 7 year old getting 50 sea urchin spines stuck in his foot!)
The hotel was however as we remembered it. We were given 2 rooms and managed to change the one with a folding bed (not comfortable for a largish 11 year old) and then we were fine. The water is salty but I guess this is using local systems and probably the cleaner for it (like the pool which was also salty and fine with us). The rooms were always clean with fresh towels and while some of the hotel is a bit shabby and in need of external renovation, well it is a 3 star hotel not 4 or 5.
The pool is nice and the water slide very popular, the animation team very enthusiastic and as another has written, the Turkish night extremelly good. We travelled with also a 15 and 19 year old and to be honest we were pleased we were way out of town as this was to be a family relaxing holiday together rather than the eldest at least being up all night (as she was with her friends in Cyprus earlier in the summer!) and then asleep all day which would have defeated the object. This therefore is not the ideal hotel for groups of young people but fine for families.
We liked the international mix in the hotel though in fact we were surprised there were in fact as many from the UK as there were (good price I guess) and the other guests seemed to be mainly from Romania and Bulgaria and some Turks and French. It is a very unpretentious atmosphere and having stayed at more "upmarket" places to be honest I was just as if not more happy and relaxed at the Pigale.
We loved the food, all Turkish with no pretence of making dishes for other nationalities and the fish particularly was excellent. All was well cooked though and showed that they had some good chefs. The salads were also good, desserts a little ,less so though they nade a lovely Birthday cake (paid for of course) for our 7 year old's birthday too. The drink was also fine though I would not recommend the red wine and we loved the borek (salty cheese pancakes) they served after 4 in the afternoon.
We went to Adaland for the birthday treat, where the raindance is wonderful, the market in Kusadasi (my husband is still going around shouting "Sanglasses"), to Ladies Beach one afternoon and hired a taxi at 150 lira to take us to one end of Ephesus and then pick us up at the other, to the museum in Selcuk, up to Sirince village and then back to the hotel. For 6 of us and all within 4 hours that suited us fine.
Staff at the hotel were friendly (a Merhaba goes a long way!), the nurse we consulted once very helpful (grown men hurtling down the slide immediately after children and in our case banging our 11 year old and curtting her nose is not a good idea and there is no supervision at all). We made use daily of the internet service next to the pool also which was appreciated.
All in all a pretty perfect week was had!

We arrived at the hotel in the dead of night but still received a warm welcome from the man at reception who gave us a little snack and showed us to our rooms, and also carried our luggage, which was at least a slope and about 60 steps to the top floor. the room was very basic and the maid service was very poor, we stayed for two weeks and the sheets were only changed once in the middle of our second week. The water was salty which some people would find ok but to be honest it felt dirty. the pool was a nice size and i felt was kept clean and tidy, we never seemed to find the pool dirty, however it was again a salty pool. The slide was good fun and kept the kids amused for an hour at a time, along with the entertainers, who made themselves known around the pool side and enticing people to take part in fun activties for all the family, well done Enrique and friends. The food was very basic, if your a rabbit you will be fine, the meat was very erm..... That was one of the down sides to the hotel. And there were a LOT of steps. Went to the beach once, its ok. It is a bit out of the town, a bus ride at 2.50 lira each one way which is the same price as a cab for a family of four, it only takes 10 minutes which isn't bad. Must visit ADALAND, make sure you don't get it mixed up with AQUA FANTASY, as it is severely disappointing, where as adaland has 7 pools includin a jacuzzi and at least 12 slides which range in speeds and enjoyment. Overall not bad, nice area but wouldn't go to that hotel again.

This is a small, budget hotel. We had 2 rooms next to each other and both were clean and comfortable. You are given a 500ml bottle of water per person when you arrive but that is all. There is a water cooler in the dining room and you can refill the bottle if you want but it is easier to buy water from the hotel shop or in the petrol station over the road. The water in the bathroom is salty but is fine for washing. The shower worked well but we did run out of hot water once during our stay. Everything takes place around the pool. That is where the dining room, bar and snack bar is. It is also where all the entertainment takes place. The animation team are great and work very hard. They arrange games and competitions during the day for kids and adults. In the evening there is the kids mini disco where they do party dances. They are the same every night but the kids seem to like that and some of the adults got up as well. After that there is usually a competition where willing volunteers make a fool of themselves or there is a show of some sort. The Turkish night was very good, I wasn't as keen on the Turkish singer but that is just personal taste. My only real criticism of the entertainment is that they only have a one week program so if you are there for two weeks you see everything twice. The pool was clean and a reasonable size for the hotel. The main road runs alongside the pool but you don't really see or hear it. The slide is switched on for half hour periods several times a day. There was a good amount of sun beds for the number of guests and you didn't have to be up at the crack of dawn to get one. The food is a bit hit and miss, but it doesn't make you ill. The snack bar is quite good and serves burgers, chips, pizza and mince pancakes. The only ice cream we found was on sale in the shop and the midnight soup was a bit elusive. The fitness room was very run down and not worth visiting. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and we could always get a sun bed. It is a bit rundown looking but was perfectly usable and the sea is still the sea. There are showers and toilets and a cafe with cheap ice cream. There is no all inclusive on the beach.
My family enjoyed our stay here but it won’t suit everyone. If you book this hotel then you are probably not paying a lot of money so just bear in mind that you get what you pay for.

dint realise that we had to travel over 2half hours to get to this hotel, lwe were lucky we had a mini bus just for us and one other familythat went direct to hotel, unlike other travellers that had lots of stops before arriving making the journey 3+ hours.on arrival staff were polite, when we arrived at our room we had 4 single bed cramed into one room, upon complain politley we were moved into better accomadtion to double rooms.beware the turkish class a family room as 3/4 beds in one room.there were a few familys that went in ragging and didnt get moved.showers are very hot and very salty our rooms were cleaned every day others we spoke to werent cleaned.breakfast wasnt very desirable if you like cheese, ham, salami olvies your fine.duck eggs were on evey morning.cereal was also on offer how ever are boys didnt like the milk it was like strealized.dinner and evening meals there wasnt a great selection plenty of salad.are boys tened to fill up on burgers and pizza from the snack bar.there are NO FREE ICE CREAM AS STATED.ONLY A SELECTION OF DRINKS FREE. childrens slide only opperates at certain times of the day, rings and lilos are really expensive from the shop.they have a photograph going round all the time and he seems a nice chap until he takes you to the beach and in the gardens and takes around 150 photos of you,at the bigging he says there 2/3 lira then changes it to euro.he says you can buy 1 or all ..how untrue.they were lovely photos and was hard to choose.when we aventually choose a few hesaid we had to choose amin of 10 or none,if we wanted all of them it worked out at£150 gbp,we tryd everything to get them cheaper but he wasnt having any of it.water park was fantastic...kusandi market was good to..you do get hasseled every day round the pool for turkish bath or going to eat at murphys bar which we didnt try although we heard it was very nice it was also very very expensive and lots of people got ripped of...a week was plenty wouldnt go there again and i am pretty sur if you keep searching you will find a much nicer hotel...

Where do I start, we just got back from week here and would never ever return! If you are booked to go on holiday here seriously swap it now, ring and change trust me.
We are a family of four with two boys aged 10 and 4 and we are not picky in any way but this hotel is hell on earth! the holiday didnt start well when our flight was delayed by 8 hours (through saga, always delayed), we missed whole day and when we arived the hotel made us wait to check in until after 2pm as we were not there they had filled our room.
So we went to the pool, which is very slippery and dangerous the water is full of salt which if you drink by mistake will make you ill!
The slide is open for a couple of hours a day that is all.
The food is very basic, mostly cold, yes breakfast is mainly eggs!
There is no kids club as advertised.
There are no icecreams as advertised or sandwiches.
The snack bar has a limited amount of food and is first come first served basis, everyone shoves in if you are at the back of the queue tuff.
The pancakes are sooo salty yueuck.
The comunial toilets are not cleaned during the day so when you come out of the pool in bare feet and there is dirty (poohy as you cant flush it down the toilets, and bins are not emptied) toilet roll in big piles all over the floor surrounded with flys, you can imagine how lovely that is!
We were eventually shown to our rooms well they were very hidy hi, basic, bad or no air conditioning, toilets leeking all over the bathroom floor.
The hotel is on a main road the nightclub opposite plays loud music until 3am which sounds like its in the room so our 4 year old could not sleep.
We complained to the hotel manager to be told............................... We are to busy entertaining your children (which they don't that much) so we have no energy to clean or tidy, come back in september (which is illegal in england to take your kids out of school)!!!!
We lasted 3 days (well 2 as one was lost) before we had to change hotels as we could not bare it any longer. We moved up the road to the vera which was everything a good hotel should be.
Our rep was not at all helpfull as we had booked a cheaper excursion through someone else, he said you don't help me with my commision, I don't help you!
Really Really Really bad, avoid like the plague!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is absolutely terrible, salty water is ruuning out from the faucets of rooms. We were gone crazy at the first time we discovered that. Oh, we were lucky to have a regukal water at the showers at beach. We swam at sea, then we shampooed at beach's shower and never at hotel's showers. We bought water from the local shops, brought it to the hotel, that was the water to brush the teeth and clean our hands. All the other stuff was more than enough for a 3 star hotel. Well, we never expected to see a great animation nor to have great meals, nor great service. Staff was friendly, beach is at a 5 minute walk, hotel provides any transportaion both to city center and historical places like ephesus & virgin mary for a very reasonable prices.
