just returned from two weeks stay in the palmin, i cannot understand all the conflicting reviews about this hotel and staff, all i can say is we had brilliant stay here found the staff friendly the rooms spotless certainly no damp on the walls, towel change and maid service every day for the two weeks. the food n the hotel was very good the entertainment was well done and very funny at times, no hassle from anyone in any shape or form and we did have purchases from outside the hotel in our room. the pool area was lovely and well kept and we certainly met no gangland members from either dublin or limerick in fact we met some lovely people during our stay in this hotel, great hotel dont be put off by grouchy reviews!

I would never stay in the Palmin Hotel again!!! It is not 4 star as advertised (which didnt bother us) The staff were the rudest people we met in Turkey, with the exception of the housekeeping staff. Prices were a rip off. Dont be caught bringing food or drink in or you get a slap on the hand ....or more to the point ' ROARED AT' by reception staff.Dont use the slides at the pool unless you have very old shorts on either .There are plenty of other nice friendly places to stay in Turkey, dont give your money to the money grabbing Irish owner Seamus.

I just got back today from a 2 week stay at the Palmin Hotel. But it was nothing like the reviews! I went with my boyfriend and read awful reviews about it on the internet and almost wanted to cancel the trip!It was both our of our first times in Turkey and we loved it! We had a double room on the 6th floor which was pretty big for a hotel room, was really clean and was cleaned everyday by a really nice maid who sometimes folded the towels into hearts and swans. There was a weird smell from the shower when you first turned it on but it went after a minute but I could smell the same smell in other parts of kusadasi so I hardly think it was the hotels fault. The tv didnt have channels but i think that was good as you didnt waste time watching it then. The lifts were the only thing I didnt like because we got stuck in it one day but there was a sign saying what to do and when we rang reception from the lift they were really nice and got us out within a few minutes and it didn't happen again.

The pool was huge and there were loads of sunbeds and umbrellas and there were 2 water slides. There was a nice little poolside bar and cafe for reasonable prices and room service didnt have an extra charge either. There was a small sweet shop and souvenir shop which were both good and not too expensive. A litre bottle of water was 1.50e which isnt that expensive. The cocktails and the dinner restaurant were the only things I thought were pretty expensive. Breakfast was included and nice.

It's only a 5 min walk from ladies beach which is nice and has some restaurants and the number 5 dolmus from right outside the hotel brings u right into the centre of town. They had no problem at all with us leaving the hotel for dinner and we always brought back water and crisps and stuff into the hotel in a handbag and it was never checked.

The staff were all really friendly as were all the Turkish people we meet. It can be intimidating at first when you go shopping or out for dinner and they try to get u to go to their shop/restaurant but all u have to do is say no thanks and walk on if u dont want to and they'll leave u alone. Also I dont understand why people were saying that the guests at the hotel were like gangland hooligans. From seeing people around the pool and talking to them in the lifts everyone seemed really nice and friendly and just there to enjoy a holiday!

Also I'd definately recommend getting the Turkish bath in the hotel, and maybe the trip to Ephesus and the 3 beach boat trip which we got from a company on ladies beach called big baba.

Overall I found it to be a really nice hotel and would definately recommend it!:)

Just back stayed two weeks to be fair the hotel is not as bad as previous reviews BUT it is Irish Prices way more expensive than eating outside the hotel . The staff are good not pushy but not as friendly as one expects in turkey . Rooms and hotel are clean . Entermaintment is good but is the same each week .

My husband and I stayed in the Palim for two weeks in August. The hotel was nice and the staff are lovely. They do have very strict policies on brining snaks and drinks into the hotel so therefore you are forced to buy lunch, drinks and snacks in the hotel which are totally over priced. The rooms are basic and are not of four star ratings by any strech of your imigination. The irish clientelle in the hotel are gangland hooligans from Dublin and Limerick. They totally take over the hotel & pool area. Before i left for Turkey i looked up these reviews and was concerned. I cannot stress enough how accurate these are. It was an absolutely nitemare of a holiday. We tried to come home a wk early but there were no flights. These clients were not only in our hotel but also all over Kusadasi. Needless to say i will NEVER go back to the Plamin or Turkey.

I am just back from spending a week at the palmin hotel and cant believe the bad reviews that are on this page. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are gorgeous very spacious and clean and we def did not have bad smelling drains in the bathroom. All the staff were exceptionally kind and would do anything for you. We needed a doctor late one evening and one phone call to reception and the doctor was there within 5 minutes. The pool was huge and very clean and there were more than enough sun loungers for everybody which did not have a charge on them which is great. We were on the 6th floor so we had a great view.

A short stroll and we were at ladies beach and a short dolmus or taxi ride and we were in kusadasi. The location is great for this reason.

The only downfall of the hotel is the elevators which is not a big deal but seeing as we were on the 6th floor proved to be annoying at times. The elevators were extremely slow and the door would stay open for ages despite pressing the button for it to close. This was a talking point evert time we got intot he lift which in a way actually worked to our benefit cuz we got to know people most of whom were staying at the Palmin for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th time!! That just shows how fantastic it is.

However, this would not stop me from returning to this amazing hotel, i only hope the same staff are there because they were brilliant to talk to have fun with and were great at their job. We will definitely be back next year, or sooner if the funds are there!

This was my fifth visit to turkey and first time I stayed in The Palmin. It was an absolute let down. The room is one star status had mouldy patches on the wall, drains smell in the bathroom, and was in need of a lick of paint. The drinks and food were so overpriced. A policy where you are not allowed bring drinks, snacks, anything into the hotel is actively enforced. I.e. The bell boy will chase you and the incompetent Irish manager/ owner will be summoned and will TAKE from you anything you have purchased outside the hotel. Very embarassing! Verges on unbelievable!

This ends up in the customer paying over three times more for a bottle of water and alcoholic drinks. The hotel aslo runs many various incentives designed to extract as much money as possible out of their guest such as darts, pool or bettting tournaments where you will pay 5 euro to enter and the prize may be a drink at the bar. I will agree with another reviewer that this place is run like a prison, there are so many rules. Dont waste your money, choose any of the other lovely places to stay in Kusadasi.
