“Not for the english”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

dont book this hotel if your english, food very poor the all inclusive is a joke tea and coffee only available at breakfast and 16.30 after that they just say NO. the bar is very basic opens when it suits them or when the staff are available, the restaurant is a trip hazard and slippery when drinks are spilt they dont rush to wipe it up, if your brave enough to eat in this hotel get there at the opening time because when the food is gone you will be left with bread and a bit of worn out salad. the rooms are basic our door had a mind of its own got locked out several times the same with the bathroom which always had a sewage smell in the mornings, light switch fell off the wall when used. swimming pool was freezing, to small enough room for 20 people in a hotel with 400 rooms a joke,i have stayed in turkey many times and payed less than this hotel and its been very good value for money. staff need to be more friendly they tend to blank the english only one friendly staff member his name is jimmy he made us feel welcome, the one and only lift had a mind of its own. now for the good points once you step out of the hotel your with in easy reach of all the bars and shops, cafes, beaches and the views are very good i would go back to kusadasi its a lovely place.

We went in a sizeable family group here last year, hotel was a 3 rating so we expected average, but clean and basic so any extras would be a bonus. Staff were lovely, hotel was quirky, as the pool and the bar was on the roof. Pool was a bit small, but you couldnt avoid the views from the roof terrace around the old town and across the harbour. The views were amazing, and this little hotel proved to be a really chilled place to be. Rooms were clean, housekeeping was fine, you could always get something to eat, drinks were a bit basic (beer, vodka, wine, raki, gin), not much in the way of dark spirits, but we managed.

There were 3 or 4 mosques across the city, and in view of the terrace, and when they all went off it was actually amazing, I found it a very surreal and beautiful experience, although my Mum found it a racket - we all had different opinions. BIg cruise liners regularly pulled in for a stop, and they were fantastic to see from the roof, and you could almost touch them from where we were situated (hotel front was up a side street and this hotel was a tower block on street hotel).

The location was perfect, we were in the centre of everything, we went drinking and shopping most nights after the all inclusive had finished, and you could get everywhere from the hotel, sort of a hub and all the good places were in streets radiating out from it. Kusadasi itself was a beautiful, vibrant place, and you could get to Ephesus 20 minutes away which is a must see. We saw some reviews by people before we went, but they were the usual professional moaners, as there was nothing that bad there - it could be improved but hey, 3 star hotel, cheap holiday.

We would go back to Kusadasi tomorrow if we could, and stay at Surtel too it was that quirky.

I spend a week in this hotel. Everything was ok for me and for me boyfriend. The location for this hotel is the best in the entire Kusadasi. This was the reason for choosing this hotel. The food was good - a lot of salads and other cold food with fresh vegetables. The pool is very small and the water is cold, in my opinion. The best rooms in the entire hotel you will find at 3rd and 4th floor. The stuff is very polite but only if you put some money in the tip box.

We got there after a 3 hour transfer (not impressed), stated mini bar, but this was completely empty. Got up after 3 hours sleep to go for breakfast, well what can i say not much choice, turkish breakfast, and nothing else. No english breakfast, no toast, powdered orange juice and very little tea or coffee. Went for a walk to get something for breakfast, the location is excellent so no shortage of cafes, restaurants and bars. Tried the pool, only one row of sunbeds around the pool, wooden steps upto it and to the pool bar. No matter what time of day you go you only get drinks in plastic cups, felt like a two year old. Tried evening meal plenty of choice, salad, soup chicken, rice and dessert but it was like a stampede for the food so if you didn't get there early it was all eaten and you got told no more left, some people were like vultures. Caters mainly for eastern europeans and god can they eat it says all inclusive but some just take the piss. The room was a bit like a travelodge, very clean, some of the staff were very friendly but others couldn't be bothered if you were the wrong nationality.

Just got back from this hotel. After more than 20 hours of drive, I couldn't wait to get there and to drink a cup of coffee. When we got there, we went to the bar and realized that coffee time is only from 16:30 to 17:30 and you have it for breakfast. That was the first time to hear something like that. Food was really poor and most of it were vegetables, but also prepared in bad way. Breakfast was the same every single day, and the choice was very poor. Also, there weren't drinks for kids, such as hot chocolate, fruit teas, milk or yogurt, only Turkish tea, coffee, water and some juices that we couldn't drink. For lunch and dinner, we had only one meal, with no meat, and a lot of salads that were not always fresh. For the snack time, every day are hamburgers and nothing more. Lucky for us, hotel has a great location, and McDonald's is close, so we ate something. Rooms were supposed to be cleaned every day, but we only noticed that our beds were made. Sheets and towels are supposed to be changed every 3 days, but we had to chase the cleaning women if we wanted that. It is such a shame that hotel with great location and beautiful view has such a bad service

Room Tip: Rooms on 3rd and 4th floor have better view and less noise.

During first day of the July 2013, I was staying at Surtel Hotel along with 40 friends. We bought it for the price-quality reason , so we paid that we found. The hotel is placed in the Centre of Kusadasy, near the Harbor, and Old Town, the staff does its job, the food is poor, but you can find a lot of restaurants around.
View above the sea is spectacular, but you must take rooms on the third or fourth floor . All inclusive service is modest but the bartender Jimmy is great, he is doing a very good job at the bar, especially Jimmy’s cocktail. For those reasons with a small budget I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: rooms on third floor

We got this holiday rather cheap, I wouldn't pay silly money to stay here! The food was only luke warm and salad day in day out. The hotel is in a brilliant location but could do with a revamp and money being spent on it! The hotel is 5mins away from bar street and all the shops, we ate out quite a lot in the evening. Some of the staff were lovely! We asked if we could keep our room on and got told no, they said there was room with a shower in it so we could freshen up, it turned out to be the shower next to the pool. The rooms were very basic and if your looking for all inclusive alcohol you have a choice of vodka, raki, beer, and wine at times!
