“Great hotel, great staff, superb holiday!”
Reviewed 9 October 2009

We travelled to Turkey on 30th Sept and stayed at Ephesia Holiday Beach Club for 1 week. The weather was great, nice and warm - 28 - 30 C. The hotel is situated right infront of a small sandy beach and the sunsets are absolutely gorgeous! We went on a All Inclusive package and I think it is really worth it! There was plenty of food, the drinks are good. There is no esspresso though, so you can try turkish coffee instead. The hotel is very clean but sometimes the outside toilets were clogged up and the smell was not very pleasant but it did not bother me at all. There were 4 swimming pools and a few small ones for the children. One of them had 3 slides and 2 of them had salty water with healing qualities. I was very surpriced by the staff. They were extremely polite and helpfull and worked long hours to make sure all guests were having good time. There were loads of different tourists - English, danish, Bulgarian etc. There was a team of entertaiments and they really made the effort to engage everybody. there were water aerobics, water pollo, various games around the pools and in the evenings there were shows and a disco for everyone! I would like to say THANK to all the staff that made this holiday the best I have had in years! Thank you! Petya & Sam

The downsides of the Ephesia, let's get those out of the way quickly now. Firstly, as the previous reviewer said, there is a terrible smell of sewage first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Secondly, the room was a wee bit basic and we too didn't get any help with our bags when we were dropped off at 7am and blinking shattered (we did see someone elses suite room and that was much bigger/better than ours). And thirdly, my friend had a small amount of English currency that she thinks went missing from our room - unfortunately she hadn't used the safe - but the hotel did investigate that for her to her satisfaction.

But the positives definitely outweigh any negatives - I absolutely feel like we got value for money. There are tennis courts and an internet cafe thing that we didn't use. The food is varied - there's usually a fairly similar selection of salad, but then there are themed nights, like Turkish night etc. And the desert trays are just divine. Getting into the Centrum is easy - the Dolmus stops outside and also there is a taxi rank next door.

The reason that we had a fantastic time is simple, the staff are fantastic. The Animation team (Tweetie, Maxi, Musty, Merdan and Tahir et al) are just brilliant, they kept us all busy day and night with water polo, aqua aerobics, water gymnastics, volleyball, dancing around the pool, mini golf and reaction testing games... I ended up doing loads of things that I wouldn't usually do and had fun with it. The Turkish bath was good - we had a massage and facial, and used the sauna as well. The bar and restaurant staff remember you really quickly, everyone seems to know your name by the second day and as we were travelling as two females, it felt like we'd made loads of friends really quickly and importantly, felt quite safe. The disco in the bar was huge fun - they should do those every night. The entertainment shows in the Amphitheatre were fab too. And the sunsets by the pool... brilliant.

I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I have to say, like many people I checked Trip Advisor before I booked at the Ephesia and was really pleased to see the feedback. Having now spent a week there I need to question where on earth have these people been before? This place is not as great as made out. I am balancing my opinion on personal experience at other hotels; I have been to all inclusive hotels in Africa, Turkey, Greece and Egypt(Taba so not technically Africa) With the exception of a poor experience in Corfu, the Ephesia Beach Club rates the lowest in virtually every aspect except the room which was very nice. Upon arrival at about 05.30am we were fitted with our wrist bands and sent off in the dimly lit surrounds to find our room by ourselves, no hope of any assistance. Once found, the room was pleasant enough and clean despite the strong smell of raw sewerage eminating from outside(and that lasted all week) Viewing the site in the morning it was just so bland with hardly any colour, it just looks tired. The food was extremely limited, with most dishes being repeated over the week(and we are not fussy eaters)The restaraunt is quite small and staff do not clean the tables down, so we often needed to move remains ourselves or get the attention of staff to do it. Regarding the 'entertainment' all I can say is that the team do the best they can. The 'amfi theatre' is small and scenery is never changed, so the shows are very limited.
In summary there are two real positives from this holiday; We were only there for a week and I did not pay the brochure price.
We have had two really good 'all inclusives' in Turkey and I would recommend either over the Ephesia; Letoonia or Club Tuana Park(there in July '09), they don't have four pools but they have everything else, great food, nice staff, nice site, great entertainment and better facilities than Ephesia.
Would I recommend the Ephesia? Not to a friend or someone I was likely to see again.

We are a middle age couple and we wanted a quiet place for relaxation with plenty of sun and nice people around and we found it ! The food was excelent, very very fresh and with a large variety (at least 7 dishes for each -plenty of salads, cold and hot appetizer, main dishes, barbecue and delicious cakes; they had even an oven, where they bake fresh bread -by the way, turkish have almoust a religion for bread). The room we stayed was big, with beautiful view at the main pool and at the beach. The chambermaids do their job very well, the room was very clean and every day expected us a little surprise - a little bouquet of flowers, a heart made from towels, a pair of swans made from towels, and so on. Very thoughtfull! The beach is not very big, but the entrace into the sea is very good, an easy slope for almoust 100-120 m. There are 6 pools -one with thermal water, one with sea water and 4 slides, 2 for kids and the other 2 quite big. The people are, in general, friendly but the photographers are a bit too pushy, look more like paparazzi. There is a lack of entertainment for people of our age. We didn't had where to dance every night. Water sports are a bit expensive. At tennis court they got us antique tennis rackets and tennis balls we couldnt use -this was a bit shame. Despite of small adjustements need to fix, we had a wonderful time and there is a place where we definetly want to come back.

Have returned from a two week break with my parents & my niece & nephew (7 & 6).

Cannot fault this hotel for food, accomodation, facilities and the staff would go out of their way to make sure that our needs were catered for.

The resort itself was expansive with 4 x swimming pools to cater for everyones tastes (we stayed mainly by the quieter main pool as was directly outside our room). The food was plentiful and of a good quality, aside from the extensive salad bar and the hot buffet style food, other options were cooked in front of you ensuring freshness - there was even a bread oven that churned out fantastic poppy seed laced bread that was still hot to the touch when you get it back to your table!)

The staff were fantastic, both with the kids, and ensuring that our glasses were never empty (we stayed on an all inclusive basis).

I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxed getaway with good food and entertainment.

Also as the resort was right on the beach, the colling sea breeze kept the heat off!

Me and my partner stayed there with our 6 year old daughter for 2 weeks. We had a comfortable room with a sea view. It was cleaned every day and towels were changed almost every day. Good airconditioning in the room. The food was very good, great variety, even for those who are on the diet. Snacks available all day.
There are 4 swimming pools in the hotel but we always stayed by the one with entertainment. During the day there were lots of different activities going on, me and my partner often would take part and have a laugh. Our daughter was happy to go to mini club in the afternoon, so we had couple of hours of peace and quiet. At mini club kids went on banana boat few times and played games and did drawing. The staff in the hotel was very friendly and helpful, especially animation team.
There was no English people in the hotel at all at the time we stayed there. Lots of Turkish, Dutch and French. That was a bit of a downside as our daughter couldn't communicate with kids however she still became a friend with one Dutch girl and been playing with her in the pool.
We didn't go on any trips apart from the waterpark-Adaland because it was too hot and wouldn't be fun for 6 year old child. However, a lot of people did go on trips and there are few historical places to see around.
We had a great time during our 2 week stay and would definately recommend it to anyone with children!
