I was there this hotel last weekend with my family. I enjoyed it very much. If you are looking for a relaxation, this is the place. Service is good, food is good, people are kind and friendly. Everywhere is clean, air condition works well. Moreover, it is close to the Kusadasi. I preferred to be in seaside and I can tell this is not good for little children, they can fall off. But swimming pool area is more appropriate for them. There is no loud music or entertainment. This is good for me, although not everyone likes it. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Charisma from 4th July for 2 weeks. It was absolutely fabulous. I would like to advise you of what they don't tell you in the brochure. Included in the rooms are hairdryer - not your usual low voltage but a decent quality hairdryer. All your toiletries - replenished daily. Towels changed daily in your room. Bed linen changed every 2 days. Mini bar stocked daily. Comb, nail file, cotton wool and buds, tissues, shoe polish and shoe horn and slippers - all provided. We requested an additional pillow and coat hangers and these were provided almost immediately.

Check in was quick and information given to us was clear and precise, reception staff were excellent. Very friendly and always available if needed.

We had a double room overlooking the pool and the view was astonishing.

Pool towels are provided and available from 8.30am - this kind of prevents the usual sunbed scramblers, but there was plenty of bds and umbrellas always available.

Breakfast was plenty and catered for everyone. We can honestly say that there were no flies or ants to be seen at all - we would love to know what their secret is!!

We also had lunch each day - and with 2 fussy daughters, we can honestly say, there was something for them on the menu and it was reasonably priced and well worth the money.

Although we didnt have our evening meal at the hotel due to this being our 19th year in Kusadasi and we do eat at a restaurant in town, the meals that were being prepared fresh as diners wait looked very good. If we had been there without our daughters we would certainly have had a couple of meals in.

View of the sunset is second to none. Lounge bar had pianist playing each evening.

Turkish bath, sauna and solarium are all included in your stay. The only time you need to pay is if you wish to have a massage or turkish scrub. You have to pay for this separately due to the company being separate to the hotel - but they did have some really good deals on when we were there and we did take advantage of them.

Although we don't have small children, the kids club lookeed very well organised and the kids itinerary each day looked really good.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic and well worth a visit.

The only negative was over the weekend. The hotel allows non-residents to use the facilities and at the weekend, quite a lot of locals seemed to descend on the hotel so the pool area did get a little crowded and noisy, but that's the only thing that we could say wasn't good.

Please feel free to get in touch if you want to know any more.

Room Tip: Choose level 4 or 5.

Large modern hotel with nicely appointed rooms and comprehensive range of facilities. Sometimes is the land base for visiting cruise ship passengers and these large groups can "overrun" hotel, especially at meal times. A little remote from town centre (20-30 mins walk to shops and restaurants). Great "alfresco" dining area overlooking harbour. Very good value as our room rate included breakfast and dinner which were excellent.

My family and I stayed at the Charisma from the 4th-18th July and I have to say the Charisma is an amazing hotel. The hotel is set just outside of the town centre, takes about 30 mins to walk to centrum via the sea front but it is a beautiful stroll. When we first arrived at the hotel we were taken aback at how stunning the hotel is. The travel brochures do not do the hotel justice. The staff were out of the hotel like a shot ready to take in our luggage when they saw us arrive. The staff give you such a warm welcome and want you to relax as soon as possible... they wouldn't even let us carry our hand luggage in!!!

When you check in you are given a welcome pack. You are given one room key and 2 towel cards but you can request a second room key if required. When you order food or drinks you hand over your room key and sign to confirm any orders. The balance is paid when you check out as the bar staff are not allowed to take any cash at the bars. The towel cards are exchanged daily at the spa for blue hotel towels. At the end of the day you return the towels in exchange for the towel cards back. If you lose either a towel or towel card the hotel will charge you 10 euros. There are signs on the desk stating that guests much not bring any drinks in from outside the hotel. If caught you will be charged the price of the drink on the hotel's menu. However, we were informed if drinks are inside of a bag and not on show then that would be ok.

The hotel rooms are split into 2 buildings but these are connected and are only a short distance away. On the floor with the lobby is a bar, souvenir shop and jewellers. These are priced a little more than what you'll find in the town centre. There is a grand piano in front of the bar and there is a pianist who plays between 8:30pm until 10:30pm.

The hotel rooms are very spacious. My sister and I shared a twin room with sea view (no balcony) whereas my parents had a double deluxe room with a balcony. The rooms have a dressing table, bedside tables with 2 drawers, an arm chair, large wardrobe. The en suite are around the same size as the bedroom and has a window to look through to the bedroom and out the window. Each have a jacuzzi bath, large shower (ours was a stand in shower whereas in my parents room they had to stand in the bath), sanitised toilet which was re-sealed each day. The rooms have a number of free toiletries. There are 2 bottles of shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and shower gel. The bottles are approx 30ml but are refilled daily if used. There is also a shower cap, shoe horn, shoe polish, comb, cotton buds and cotton wool, tissues, scrub mit and soap. There is also a fridge with a mini bar in containing bottles of water, cans of pop, alcoholic miniatures (gin, raki, vodka, whisky), chocolate, nuts, Pringles and a condom. There is also free air conditioning and a TV. The TV also has a link to a speaker situated above the toilet. This allows you to sit in the bath tub watching and listening to the tv. The bathtubs are a little high but you can request a portable step for getting in and out the tub. There is safety deposit box in the room which you have to pay 2euro a day if you wish to use it. There are 2 telephones in the rooms; one at the side of the bed and another in the bathroom. It is free to call other hotel rooms but you have to pay for outside calls. There is hair-dryer in the bathroom which isn't very powerful but is fine if you just want to do simple styles. If you want to blow dry your hair for volume it may be worth bringing your own. Wifi is free to use but you have to request a password. You have to login with your room number as the username and are given a password by the staff. Passwords have a time limit of usually 24 hours but this can be extended to 3 days. The wifi has a huge range; whether in the room, lobby or by the pool you never lose connection. The staff are dead set on making sure you have your room exactly how you like it. If you need extra pillows or coat hangers all you have to do is ask and they will be more than happy to pop up with them. The electricity in the room is powered by putting your room key in a slot in the wall. The fridge is on its own circuit so it constantly stays on. We requested an extra key for the room just for mosquito plugs on a night but kept the keys with us during the day due to the cleaners coming in. The rooms have a few little rough edges such as the carpet has not been cut along the edges but this does not take away from the room as a whole.

The rooms are cleaned daily. On our first few days, the cleaners left it rather late in the afternoon to come to the room. After a few days they realised we would be in the room they would start coming at midday. If you put the ‘Do not disturb’ sign on the phone the reception will phone to ask whether they are able to clean the rooms.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the restaurant was absolutely spotless. In a morning there is a bread section with a huge selection. White, brown, pink (yes pink) bread with hundreds and thousands on top and so many more. There was a selection of salad, cheeses, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, tea and coffee, herbal teas, jams and yoghurt. There is also sausage, bacon, eggs cooked to order, omelettes, waffles and soups. The staff make sure you have everything you need. They ensure that plates are taken away when finished with and are on hand to top up your coffee/tea.

In the mornings you are only able to swap your towel cards for towels at 8:30am to prevent people putting towels on beds extremely early. There are a large number of sunbeds both by the pool and on the jetty on the sea. There are 3 different swimming pools: the largest is 1.5m deep, the baby pool is 40cm deep and there is the jacuzzi pool. There are a number of different depth you can enter the sea at. There is a small stoned beach where you can paddle or you can climb of the jetty at depths of around 2ft and 10ft. In the mornings the pool area is in the shade but by 12pm the whole pool area is in the sun. There is also an inside pool past the spa but we never used this. We went on the B&B basis but ate at the hotel for lunch every day. We thought that the hotel would be really expensive being 5 stars but we found it very reasonable. A burger meal which consists of a burger, chips and soft drink was 13TL. I would recommend the chicken burger... beautiful chicken breast on a sesame seed bun. There are chicken nuggets and chips for 10TL and pizzas for 13TL. Food is brought to sun loungers or you can sit in the lunch area next to the bar. The views from the pool/sea is amazing. As it is just around the corner from the marina and harbour you are able to watch the cruise ships going out on an evening. Water sports are available from the hotel. These are shared with the Korumar next door. There are parasailing, jet skis, banana boats and more available.

There is a spa, doctors and hairdresser at pool level. The hairdressers offer a range of treatments and also offer epilation and manicures/pedicures. The spa offers a range of different treatments. The staff will come to the pool area to offer sample massages. There is a Turkish bath and sauna which are free to use but you have to book in advance. If you want a full Turkish bath with all the works you have to pay. The spa offer stress relieving, hot stone, aromatherapy, medical and other massages. You can purchases packages of Turkish bath and massages which have small discounts on the price. My mum and I had a Turkish bath followed by an aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage and face mask. This lasted for 1 hour and cost approx 260TL each. I have to admit, that it was absolutely amazing. The Turkish bath was the traditional scrub down and foam massage. We were then taken to 2 beds outside the sauna and left to relax for a few minutes. Then we were taken to the massage room where there was some relaxing music playing. The room is dim lighted and you can see outside but no one can see in. The massage was amazing and was amazing when the pull your toes to make them click. Then we were taken for our face mask which was painted on nd while we were waiting to wash is off we were brought some apple. My sister had a stress relieving massage which lasted 45mins which cost 120TL. The only criticism of the spa was that the staff don’t tell you whether to remove your clothes or not. When my dad went to the Turkish bath he was told to remove all clothes but when my mum and I went they didn’t tell us so we went off my dad’s experience which turned out to be a mistake. However the staff were very discreet and did a brilliant job.

On an evening if you want to go down into centrum, you can go via taxi or dolmus. The dolmus pass the hotel so you can wait at the front of the hotel for one. There is also a taxi rank down the road which has 2 taxis stationed across the road from the hotel. If there are none there the hotel staff will ring one for you. It is around 9TL for a taxi to centrum. There is a supermarket situated 5 mins down the road.

There were a number of functions held at the hotel whilst we stayed there; Weddings, Circumsisms etc. We were a little apprehensive about the late night parties, however the hotel stops all parties at midnight so we never had any interruptions to our nights kip. Even though events were taking place the hotel staff never dropped their level of care to all guests. The level of care was always exceptional and above and beyond any standard of care received by any hotel we have stayed at in the past.

The only thing we weren’t so keen on with the hotel is that people not staying in the hotel could come in and use the pool. This was more evident at the weekend were more Turkish families would come to use the pools. On these days we used the jetty rather than around the pool as the children used the pools. The children who visited the hotel or were guests were usually well behaved.

Our stay at the Charisma was an absolutely brilliant experience. The staff are friendly and always made sure that you were happy with your room and stay. The rooms were always clean and well maintained as was the pool area. We will definitely be staying at the Charisma next year and my parents are already planning another trip later this year. People are always impressed when you mention you are staying at the Charisma as many know the hotel is a brilliant hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone after a luxury stay as you will be treated as royalty.
