“A clover shaped castle”
Reviewed 23 May 2013

The fortress is clover shaped and right by the sea and had an important role during Dardanelle war. Inside of the battlements, there are many items remained from soldiers. Cannons have different stories, if you can see.)

“A lovely ancient castle”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

It is being renovated so we couldn't go inside and not sure when it will be completed. However there are arsenals that can been and walk around them . There is a little museum on the grounds which are open and you pay 2 TL to enter. Many cannonballs, iron artefacts are in cabinets . They have some zinc strips with names etc of soldiers . These were made and placed on the temporary wooden crosses and placed on the graves of the soldiers until the stones we see now were in place. Afterwards the crosses were burnt and the strips were left behind .Looking at the architecture is beautiful on the castle so when the work is completed I am sure the castle will look magnificent!
