“Extremely hospitable”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Stayed here for a weekend with 12 college students and the manager Kadir and his wife made us feel like we were part of their family. They were helpful in every possible way - from answering questions and giving recommendations about fun things to do to arranging hot air balloon trips for us and even a shuttle back to the airport. The home-cooked meals they served were AMAZING. The room is what you'd expect, a cave... but the beds are really comfortable :) All in all, Elif Star is a great place to stay if you love real, bed-and-breakfast type hospitality.

Kadir and his family were amazingly hospitable and accommodating to all our needs this weekend. With a total of about 15 of us in his hotel, my friends and I had the best possible weekend we could have had in Cappadocia. Family owned hotel, cool rooms, and delicious homemade dinners (thank you Kadir's wife!).

The nice think about the hotel too is that it is not in the center of town but not too far from all the attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for room 3: use to be an old Christian Orthodox Cave Chapel.

Elif Star Caves was ideal for my 3 night trip to Goreme. Everybody was super kind and helpful, the rooms were nice, and even though it was down season, there were plenty of people to meet. Go hot air ballooning, and eat pottery kebab, you won't regret it. Until next time!

Very nice cave hotel. Family owned hotel. Very central location. Near shops, restaurants, bus station, hamam. Home made food, cooked by owner's wife. Can't receive better treatment! Thank you so much Kadir. You made our stay in Capadoccia unforgetable.

We stayed there for two days. We had a room with a balcony. Clean and cozy for a cave room. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was simple. The hotel is only 3 minutes away from the city center.
Kadir and Sibel Teke runs the hotel like you were part of their family. Sibel made us real, authentic and delicious Turkish food. Is a mistake not to dinner with them.
At the gathering room / breakfast / lunch&dinner room you can always enjoy an Apple tea ant talk about your day with Kadir, Amazing experience, this hotel was perfect for us.

We arrived in Cappadocia very early in the morning, the owner Mr Abd. Kadir give us a very warm welcome, explain the rooms availability since we prefer not to do any reservations for our trip in Turkey.. He gave us the best room available with super cheap price since the room is originally unoccupied.. (its almost the same with the dormitaries price in Istanbul, but we get 3 seaters room with private bathroom and beautiful cave room..) heater and hot water are functioning well.. Absolutely recommended for a budget travelers like us.. We even extand another 1 night here in Cappadocia.. thanks to Mr Abd Kadir and family for the warm hospitality..

The family who runs this hostel is absolutely wonderful. I arrived on an overnight bus and they let me into a spare room to shower before getting on the tour bus, then they upgraded me from the dorm to a 5-person room for free (which I had to myself). They also made a wonderful meal and catered to my dietary restrictions, they drove me to the turkish bath, and best of all, provided great conversation. You'll love your stay here!
