“Great Cave Experience!”
Reviewed 12 June 2011

We stayed here from May 23rd-26th. We were extremely pleased with our choice of cave :). I had sent email communications prior to the trip that were answered efficiently. One example of such communication that I wanted to make note of is the fact that I was trying to book a flight through SunExpress from Cappadocia > Izmir and due to the fact that SunEXpress did not accept International credit cards I could not book online. Since I had been in contact with Mustafa I mentioned to him my challenge and he put me in contact with someone that could help me - and even offered that if I didn't have luck with his contact that he could book it himself.

Airport transfers were arranged through the hotel (additional cost) but was well worth the fact that we did not have to personally coordinate these. Any excursions were also booked through the hotel (Butterfly Balloons were recommended by the hotel and it was the highlight of the trip).

Room - the room was HUGE!!! a sitting room, a bedroom, and an enormous bathroom (with great water pressure). The room also was very museum like, as they designed it to replicate a traditional cave house (of you go to the Open Air Museum you will notice the similarities). It stays cool in the cave, so my only suggestion is to make sure that you have a sweatshirt for evenings ( I was a little chilly) - if you want a fire in your cave it is 10 euros. Extremely clean.

Location - 5 minute walk to get into town. Mustafa offered to drive us to the open air museum (which is a 30min walk max). Every other excursion seem to provide transportation for you so location is a non-issue.

Breakfast - there was a good variety of foods available. They were also making other "family recipes" (spinach pastry) that they would have us try. On our last day we had to leave the hotel at 6:30am and they had prepared a breakfast for us to take with us.

I cannot say enough about the hospitality that everyone showed us while staying here at Aydinli - they even did our laundry for us so that we could maximize our time exploring the area that they call home.

Room Tip: Book directly with Owner for room choice.

We spent a fantastic week at this wonderful Hotel which was made even more special due to the personalised attention of the owner,Mustafa, his son,Cem and other staff .On arrival we were assisted to our exclusive large room #6 with it's own private balcony and fantasic views of Goreme. Mustafa ,who was born in the Hotel, went through a personalised selection of places to visit and see in Cappadocia during our stay.He also accompanied us one morning pointing out exclusive treasures of the area. What a fantastic holiday we had in Turkey. We will always treasure our special time with the Demirci family in Goreme. A very special thank you to Mustafa, for the friendly way he accepted us and for all the wonderful advice and guided tours he arranged with his personal input and information. We have a special soft spot for Aydinli Cave Hotel , especially for our spectacular view with our private balcony and lovely large comfortable room. The breakfasts were wonderful and also the special dinner his wife prepared. High speed Wi-Fi was amazing. We wish to thank all his staff and especially Cem for his kindness and friendliness. We one day hope to return to have a balloon ride in Goreme and will make sure if we can do this,to pay them all a return visit.

Room Tip: Room # 6 has the best view with private Balcony

We stayed 2 nights here -in the Kis Evi suite -and because it was booked out for our third night the owner, Mustafa, moved us to a room in the house next door which they have just finished renovating. The Kis Evi suite was lovely -it was the family's original house and still has the cooking hearth outside, and the wine press and wheat storage area inside. it was very spacious, and had a huge bathroom. Although it is a cave it did not feel like it -plenty of ventilation. The Aydinli is built in to the side of a hill so there are a lot of steps up to the breakfast room -but the view is magnificent. Fortunately the Kis Evi suite was on one of the lower levels. The room in the house next door was also really nice -not a cave but very comfortable and also spacious.
Mustafa and his son Cem were more than helpful, and are able to organise tours, balloon rides, dinners etc. We had dinner one night at the hotel cooked by Mustafa's wife - it has to be pre-arranged and they only do it occasionally. It was delicious home cooking -lentil soup, lamb and eggplant claypot stew, baklava and a very good red wine.
Mustafa took us to the carpet cooperative in the next village _ i assume he makes a commission on sales he brings in. It was very interesting but then we got quite a hard sell (which admittedly you get used to in Turkey). Their carpets were significantly more expensive than others we bought --I'm not an expert so don't know if they were actually of higher quality or not, but suggest that you only go there if you really want to buy a carpet or you're a very good negotiator.
All in all though the Aydinli was a great choice and I would love to stay there again

Really enjoyed our stay in the Jr. suite room 4. The room was very clean but needed more places to put clothes. Would like to have had better lighting as well. I would recommend asking for the room on the highest level as it has a private seating area outside and the best views. The bathroom was very large and spacious.
Mustafa and his wife, son, cousin were all warm and very hospitable. They had a friend in training from the university that was exceptional. I am sorry that I cannot remember his name. He made us feel so special. Our bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. My only recommendation would be to start serving at 7:00 am instead of 8:00am. That is late for some folks from around the world. Would like to have had a tea service in the rooms too for early risers.
We were here for 5 nights. Recommend a long stay to really enjoy the area.

Aydinli Cave House Hotel was an ideal hotel to benefit from beauties of Goreme. Take a balloon ride, hike through the valleys, experience the the great regional tastes. Also, the manager was very very helpful, I really appreciate it. I am looking forward to come back again.

Have just spent the last 3 days at the Aydinli Cave House. Our initial meeting when picked up was by a sour, unfriendly young man but he was not representative of the wonderful family at Aydinli. Mustafa was brought up in the house and has wonderful history of the area. Nothing is a problem. The rooms are beautiful and breakfast delicious. They also do a wonderful evening meal if you book. Close to the village. Excellent stay

We spent the days hiking through the surrounding valleys viewing natural and man-made wonders that are totally unique. One day we booked a balloon ride and were amazed at the precision flying of the pilot! Goreme is a great base for visiting other towns such as Avanos for carpet shopping.
