Owner description: Floating effortlessly just an arms stretch away from the tops of the fairy-chimneys, fruit trees and then ascending high above the ice cream coloured ravines, this is simply the best way to travel above the valleys of Cappadocia.

“Experience of a lifetime”

Butterfly is one of the pricier balloon companies in Cappadocia for good reason.

They pick you up from your hotel around 4:30 and drive you to their office for a light breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and pastries.

The max persons they take in a balloon is 16: 4 per compartment. Many other balloons take up to 36. For that reason, you are guaranteed a good view.

They don't launch from the same place everyday. They send up test balloons ahead of the guests to determine the best place to launch based on wind pattern.

Their pilots are experienced, and your safety is their top concern. If it's too windy, they don't fly into the valley. If conditions are right, which they were the day I flew, they take you into the valley for some of the most amazing views. I only saw a couple other balloons out of the 75-100 or so in the sky that actually flew into the valley.

If you are in a basket 500 meters in the air, wouldn't you want your life in the hands of the best balloon company in Cappadocia (based on Trip Advisor)?

“Wonderful & Surreal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

This was absolutely the highlight of entire 8 days in Turkey. I know everyone says this but you can only believe it once you have experienced it for yourself. There is no dearth for balloon companies but we loved our time with Butterfly. They were on time for the departure from our hotel. We were taken on a short drive to their offices where we sorted out payments and were treated to hot coffee and fruit. We were then driven to the take off site where the Butterfly readied the balloon. Our pilot, Mustafa, was great. The air was still and silent, and watching the sun rise from high up in the sky is something I will never forget! Once we landed, the team had more goodies for us - Champagne and cake at 6am? Yes please!

“Amazing Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

We recently took an unforgettable trip with Butterfly Balloons in Goreme. They picked us up very early (same for all balloon rides) but were on time, breakfast was provided, and everything was very well organized. The actual ride was about an hour long and was just as incredible as the pictures look - sweeping views of Goreme and other nearby Cappadocia towns and landscapes from various heights, really a perfect way to marvel at the natural beauty of the area. After a soft, perfect landing they provided champagne, snacks, certificates, photo opportunities, and a timely transfer back to our hotel - all in about 3 hours door to door. These guys are highly recommended by a lot of travel sites for a reason - very professional and friendly, truly a once in a lifetime excursion in a fascinating part of the world. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a balloon tour in Cappadocia!

“Excellent pilots and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

I was initially nervous about taking a hot air balloon ride. We had pilot, Mike who was experienced, friendly and cautious. He used radios to communicate with the other pilots so as to not run into a balloon above you. He would take us low into the valleys and as high as 6,000 feet. They are a small company but are very concerned about safety and service.

“One of the best experiences! Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

Just as amazing as the pictures look! Before heading to Turkey I was wowed by the photos of the landscape and this wonderful experience, as I had never been in a hot air balloon before. It was just as magical if not better! I was unsure about a couple of things before flying, for example making sure that the balloon was not over-crowded with too many passengers and making sure that I would feel safe as possible as I'm not always great with heights. Butterfly Balloons came well recommended and they were the ideal choice. We had a great pilot - Mustafa, who was very professional and experienced. He got the balloon low into the valleys for some great pics and added comedic value to the flight experience too! We had 15 in our balloon and there was plenty of space in each compartment to move around comfortably and take photos. We were in the air for 70 mins and Mustafa landed the balloon basket perfectly (on top of the truck-tow!) and we celebrated as traditional with a glass if local champers and cake! A wonderful morning.
