If one were to look for a perfect place to holiday then this is it this is it this is it.....its so heavenly....

you can fall in love with the location, the picture perfect scenario all around, the service available(especially Halis and Kadir)as they are pure darlings, the fun all around and one can go on an on praising the place.

to tell you in brief, just get yourselves parked at this place an before you can thank God you can think of buying me a gift from there just for taking my views...( i love those awsome bracelets available opposite Goreme House and its easier to courier them too as your bags am sure will be bursting with the pottery stuff that you will buy from there)...

so just get there and experience the heavenly abode....cheers folks

We stayed for six nights in Goreme House in June, 2008, and we still miss the staff and environment there! I was just emailing them today to see how everyone is doing and thought I should write my first review on Trip Advisor while I'm at it. We got into Goreme early in the morning after an overnight bus ride from Antalya and walked around town looking for a place to stay. After seeing a few other places that were pretty nice, we came across Goreme House and were sold by the friendliness of the staff, the exceptionally good location, and the stunning rooftop terrace. Our standard room on the second room was beautiful and luxurious by our standards (we're generally budget travelers). We have traveled to many countries in the world and we rank the staff at Goreme House to be the kindest, most generous people we have ever stayed with (and Hollis is VERY funny and gave outstanding suggestions for hikes). And the breakfast is excellent! Don't miss out in a chance to experience true Turkish hospitality. We would go back to Turkey just to stay with them again.

we stayed in a standard room here. The bathroom and breakfast were good. The room was small and the walls unplastered, yet not cavelike either. I'm not sure that this was successful, however the other reviewers seem to like the place.

The thing which marks out this hotel is the ammount of help it offers its guests. The staff do get involved. However I have two complaints:

1) I'm not sure that the tour guides associated with the hotel can be trusted, but then maybe i'm just suspicious.

2) When I made the booking with the hotel i was offered airport transfers. These appeared to be free. It turned out that only the first one was complimentary, and the second was to be paid for. I didn't mind paying but i would have liked to have known.

In October of 2008, I stayed at Goreme House Hotel for three nights. Being in Cappadocia was magical, and the magic was greatly enhanced by our stay at Goreme House. From the moment we arrived, Halis, Kadir, and Josef (the manager and his staff) made us feel welcome and at home. Their knowledge of the area is extensive and they willingly and cheerfully shared it with us.
The hotel itself is small, quaint, and beautiful, and we greatly enjoyed the stunning views (hot air balloons and minarets and fairy chimneys!) from the rooftop at breakfast and relaxing in the courtyard on comfy cushions in the evening, after long days of sightseeing. The rooms were very comfortable and warm, and in all of our travels in Turkey, it was the only hotel to have complimentary coffee and tea in the rooms.
I would recommend everyone travelling to Cappadocia to stay at the Goreme House Hotel, and I will definitely plan to return there myself!

Cappadoccia was the highlight of our trip to Turkey.

Recently 4 of us spent 6 nights at Goreme House and loved it.

We all thought the value for money was excellent. Breakfast, rooms, location all fabulous.
Plenty of local information and assistance available from the office. Good value tailor made day trips available, and last but not least the very entertaining and much loved Denis (you'll have to go to find out!) all made it a very memorable trip for us. Cant wait to go back, would highly recommend this boutique hotel

Our stay at Goreme and Goreme House was the highlight of our 3 weeks of independent travel through Turkey. We felt welcome and comfortable here. The hotel is small but excellently located in Goreme with utterly stunning views from the terraced restaurant roof garden across a sea of cave houses and fairy chimneys. Imagine breakfasting on fresh fruit made-to-order eggs and pastries with hot air balloons drifting close by over the rim of the escarpment in the distance! The rooms were comfortable, well serviced and supplied with tea and coffee making facilities. The manager and his staff made our stay really enjoyable because they were exceptionally friendly, helpful and thoroughly knowledgeable and able to offer good suggestions for sightseeing and other activities.

This hotel was not quite a cave hotel but was very attractive to look at. The location was superb, right at the top of the town and quiet, although within minutes of the shops, restaurants etc.
Be warned though, the Mosque is only yards away from the hotel and we were woken at 5.30 every morning by the call to prayer! (it was impossible to sleep through). The lovely breakfast almost made up for this though.
I think we may have been unlucky with our room. We booked a deluxe room, which although homely and attractive to look at, lacked the 2 basics which we consider to be essential in any hotel room - adequate heating, and hot water. The room had a huge radiator, but although we asked the Manager twice to turn it on, the room remained cold for the 3 nights we stayed. There was only a bath (with a hair wash shower head) which took too much water to fill, so that by the time there was enough water to immerse in, it was cold. The general decor was a bit tired and in need of sprucing up!
To sum up, we loved the location and ambience of this hotel, but it was let down by the lack of amenities and attention to detail in the room. Probably more a hot weather hotel!

  • Liked — The look of it and the convenience to the local amenities
  • Disliked — Not enough heating or hot water and being woken at 5.30 by the Mosque
