We stayed for just 1 night but wished it was the entire stay. The staff was amazing, Hasan went above and beyond. The room was comfortable and clean. The terrace restaurant was beautiful.

We loved the Kelebek Hotel where we spent 3 nights in early May. Our 'cave' room was very spacious and had a private terrace which was a lovely place to sit and take in the incredible view and to watch the balloons in the morning. The layout of the hotel was really interesting with a lovely terrace for breakfast or an evening drink. The restaurant was closed when we were there but there is a great restaurant at the sister hotel next door. The staff were incredibly helpful. We did a balloon trip, which I can recommend highly, walked to the Goreme Open Air Museum, and did a lot of hiking in the nearby canyons - spectacular scenery. The hamam at the hotel is also worth a visit.

We stayed for 4 nights and it wasn't long enough! Everything about this place was really wonderful. Our room was unique and beautifully decorated. The layout of the hotel was imaginative and enchanting. We loved sitting on the outdoor terrace watching the balloons in the morning and having a drink in the evening. The food was good and prices reasonable. Best of all was the superb staff - one and all - who made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Bravo!

Room Tip: My guess is there aren't any bad rooms.

What a terrific and unique experience! We chose this hotel based on all the reviews on this site, and were not disappointed. Our "cave room" was bright, large, and had modern bathroom fittings. In spite of being winter, the temperature was fine. We walked to the Goreme Open Air Museum, and also took a hot air balloon ride and a day tour. We've never experienced a topography like this before, and are so glad we made the trip.

The rates were very reasonable in the winter, especially if you paid cash. The breakfast was very good. Most of all, we were impressed with the service. On the day of our flight, it snowed so much that the shuttle picking us up got stuck in snow. A hotel staff drove his own car and took us to the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight.

On the cons, it would have been nice to have someone help with the fireplace. I wasn't sure if it was safe to light it. There was also a smell in the bathroom at times, but not a huge issue.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, great experience!

We spent three days at the Hotel Kelebek in late April and had a wonderful time there. The warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff is amazing. Serkan (sp?) helped us check in and then spent a lot of time with us explaining what we could do in the area. Since we had a car, we weren't interested in Hotel Kelebek's tours and there was no pressure whatsoever. Everytime we needed something, the staff was there to help and without exception, they were all great. We did the hot air balloon ride with Butterfly Balloons, which is affiliated with Hotel Kelebek, and it was a great experience, too. The hotel is affiliated with a restaurant called Seten right up the road and we had two great dining experiences there. The okra dish was one of the best meals I have ever had! All in all, this is a great hotel and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 12 which was cozy and a great price. It was very quiet.

The hotel is lovely, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the hammam is worth visiting. The availability of wireless, as well as complimentary tea and coffee all day make the restaurant/terrace (with an amazing view of the city) a real hub and provide a sort of community feel to the place. If I were ever to go back to Cappadocia (which is worth a visit), I would book a room at Kelebek without thinking twice.

We spent 5 days at the Hotel Kelebek in Goreme in May and have to say it was a great place to stay. We loved our fairy chimney room, the great breakfast, and the lovely terrace for relaxing and dining. The best part was the staff - they were all friendly and helpful (especially Hassan). We did some hiking and one of our favorite hikes was a fascinating slot canyon trail that we found by accident. We think it was part of Sword Valley - it does require some ladder climbing and minor scrambing, but we're all over 60 and had no trouble negotiating the trail. We were not planning on doing the balloon ride as it seemed expensive.but one of our party of four really wanted to do it, so we did. We were not disappointed. It was a great early morning experience with incredible views. It was a plus that we got a discount on the balloon ride by booking through Hotel Kelebek. We highly recommend Hotel Kelebek as a great place to stay in Goreme.

Room Tip: We stayed in fairly chimney room #7 and liked it. It was very cozy.
