“A great stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2012

We stayed for 3 nights and would have happily stayed for more if we could. They were very friendly and genuine which was great.

A really nice location for the hotel looking over the town. Not quite on the main street but only 5 minutes walk away.

Rooms were a bit small but really quaint.

Used the hamam which was a lot of fun for the family. We also used the hotel to book a tour and a balloon ride (which was the highlight of our holiday in Turkey).

Staying at the Kelebek Hotel was hands down the highlight of our trip to Turkey. We ended up extending our stay for an additional night, we loved it so much. The weather was perfect in September and we took advantage of the tour (of the underground city for 50 euros) and the hot air balloon ride (180 euros, but essentially a once in a lifetime opportunity). We stayed in the 3 different rooms (the hotel was full, so we kept moving rooms in order to extend our stay) and of rooms 7, 110 (presidential suite) and 104 we LOVED 104 the best, hands down, but every room was gorgeous. The free breakfast was exceptional and the customer service was one of the best parts of our stay. We are typically the backpacking in the woods type of vacation couple and even though this may look like a boutique hotel experience online, in person it is a down to earth, rustic and gorgeous place with lots of garden space and hammocks and of course you're sleeping in a cave. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Room Tip: Room 7 was over the hamam, so could get a little hot, but also had it's own balcony overlooking...

This would be a five star review except for some particular problems with our room. Room 11 is very small and has no a/c so it gets a bit stuffy. In addition, our shower leaked (flooding the bathroom) and the toilet ran. However, I don't believe this to be indicative of the other rooms. Staff was very helpful and very accomodating. They arranged our airport pick-up for just 10 euros (90 minute ride from Kayseri) and a superb tour of the area (Heritage Travel's Undiscovered Tour). Bed was very good. The property is beautiful with gardens and a pool and great views of the fairy chimneys. Open Air Museum is about a 20 minute walk away. Staying in a cave room is a must for any visit to this area and the Kelebek is a reasonably-priced and solid option. Food at the restuarant was just average although the breakfast is excellent.

Room Tip: May want to spend a little more for a bigger room than #11.

Book this place, just do it! And make sure you leave yourself with enough time in Cappadocia. We found Kelebek and this whole region to be a wonderful place to visit. The hotel is awesome, with beautiful grounds, a nice little pool, and lots of area to relax and enjoy the views. We stayed in the Eagle's Nest Presidential Suite which was awesome. Huge room and bathroom. Great views and a nice little balcony.

The service was great, everyone friendly. Listen to Hasan, he knows what he is doing and wants you to have a great time. Breakfast was great and so was dinner. We never eat dinner at hotel restaurants when we travel, but we were tired and tried their restaurant and it was awesome. In fact it was so good we ate their twice. Some of our best dinners on our trip to Turkey at very good prices.

I really have no complaints. We loved it here and would like to someday go back to Cappadocia.

Our stay here was one of the most memorable we have ever had. The setting is absolutely incredible, but the Hotel really embodies the area it's in. The decor is very rustic and is very fitting for the area you are in. All of the rooms and seating areas sprawl throughout the entire property. There were plenty of areas to just sit back and relax and enjoy the view with a glass of turkish tea.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly and was able to get us in to our room right away even though we arrived very early in the morning! It was also very convenient being able to book all of our tours right there through Heritage Tours. The hot air balloon ride is worth every penny!! You absolutely MUST do it!!

The hotel is located a short walk from the town (down a steep hill which can be tough returning to, but it is worth it for the views at the top!). We opted to dine in town rather than at the Hotel but the breakfast was great - with lots to choose from.

This is one of my favorite places - I can't wait to return!!

Room Tip: We stayed in a cave room which is certainly memorable but since we are in a cave, there was some dus...

This was the best hotel during our recent trip to Turkey.
Booking process - very efficient. You can pick your room (all very different) on their website - by description, list of amenities, photos, price... So you know in advance all those details. We stayed at room 15 - one with AC which was important to us. It was large, well appointed. Decor is fantastic! In sync with local style - rustic, but not overpowering which can easily be, with local elements and all modern amenities. Common areas also great - the same style throughout, amazing teraze for breakfast/dinner, sitting areas... Restaurant - excellent food, good prices.
Personnell - attentive, helpful but not imposing. Makes you feel at home. Can arrange everything for you - from airport pick up, carr rental, day tours, baloon rides which they own, to longer Herritage tours etc... It is a quite large business I think owned/operated by one large family. They do great job and don't push you into buying any of their extra services which sometimes can happen in this circumstances...
Thank you Kelebek! We had great time... Keep it up!

We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights here, but did not give it the top rating as we found the bed too hard, and sleeping was not that good due to their barking dogs in the night .
Nevertheless, the breakfasts are good, and it's so nice high up on their patio over looking the village.
Internet wifi is free and the rooms are ok, for the price it is good value.
The staff are helpful and the room is serviced daily.
Goreme is an amazing place, and it IS worth flying from any part of the world to see this unusual
geography. The town is lovely just 10 minutes down the hill ,with many good restaurants. Just take care on the uneven cobble stone pathways, lots of obstacles and steps in unexpected places.
You absolutely ,MUST , do the hot air balloon flight ! Make sure you have saved up enough money to do this !
We've had brilliant sunny weather of 25 degrees, and you need at least 3 days in this beautiful area.
Oh yes, the 430 am call to prayer in the city is another annoying thing for a tourists sleep, but that is Turkey !
