My husband and I were visiting Cappadocia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After a long journey, we arrive in Goreme and were welcomed by the staff at Kelebek. It had snowed the day before our arrival so the view over the town was spectacular. We stayed 3 nights, in room 17. The room was next to the spa. The room itself was smaller than it looked in the pic, but still spacious, perfect like a clustrophobic like me. In the morning, you got to see hot air balloons floating over our balcony. But the best thing about this hotel was definitely the complimentary organic breakfast, on the terrace overlooking beautiful Cappadocia. What an amazing hotel!

this place and its staff are just amazing. Not only is the accommodation, facilities and food wonderful but it looks out onto the most incredible scenery! Oh, and the price is pretty good, too. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Go there!!

Room Tip: Go on to their website. There are photos of the rooms, just so you know what you're getting!

This is a really nice place, rooms are very unique and charming, ours was really small, if you are in Capadoccia, you are not supposed to stay in your room!!! They are really cave rooms, so the stairs can be steep and the hotel has many hallways and terraces, you can get lost. The Hotel has a beautiful terrace, with dinnig area and resting areas to read, play board games, have a cup of tea and watch the beautiful sunset. Really nice and peaceful.
Also the restaurant is good, simple but good dishes and good prices, besides the beautifu setting, buffet breakfast was really great, the best we had in all Turkey, fruits, cereals, eggs, everything. The service is good, they can arrange tours, airport transfers, etc.

Room Tip: There are cave rooms and regular rooms, but all of them have a cave "feeling"

Kelebek Hotel is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The price was very reasonable and less expensive than many other choices in Goreme, but the pension was pure luxury! My husband and a friend stayed two nights in May and wished we could have spent more time there. The rooms are a bit small, but they are beautifully arranged and absolutely gorgeous. The staff is incredible, especially Mert, the general manager. He and his staff went out of their way to treat guests well. We arrived at 9 a.m. after taking an overnight train from Izmir. Even though we couldn't check in for a few hours, Mert invited us to a complimentary Turkish breakfast and even invited us to use the showers. Once we were checked in, the staff offered us free rides to sites within Goreme. Also, Mert gave excellent advice on local hiking trails and how to use the dolmus/minibuses to get to local sites, which allowed us to see many Cappadocia sites without the expense of using a tour company. And the breakfasts are excellent: a full Turkish breakfast, plus lots of fruit, baked goods and cereals for those who like sweets in the morning. I can't say enough good things about this pension and staff. The three of us look forward to returning to Cappadocia and to Kelebek Hotel soon!

Turkey has been fantastic and this is the best place we have stayed in. The owner, manager and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. We are a group of 6 Australians travelling together. Two of eight bags did not make it odd the Pegasus flight from Istanbul. The staff at the hotel followed this up every hour...they were brilliant. The bags finally arrived just before we left.
The owner, Ali, took us for a breakfast tour to their family farm in the valley....a must do for any guest.
The also own Butterfly Ballons...which we thoroughly recommend.
Could not get ant better

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a cave room

We arrived in Goreme at 6am on a night bus from Antalya to the most magical view of all the hot air balloons in flight at sun rise, we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our time in Cappadocia. As told to at the time of booking we called for a pick-up and within minutes the night receptionist had collected us and our bags and driven us up the hill to the hotel. Given that this was going to create our first impression of Kelebek, the man who ‘welcomed’ us couldn’t have been less enthusiastic. He told us our room wouldn’t be available until 11am at the earliest and that we could sit on the terrace and eat breakfast when it started at 8am. He didn’t offer us a tour, a map of the area or anything remotely helpful. We took it in our stride, relaxed on the terrace and took photos of the balloons for an hour or so until breakfast began.

It wasn’t until the next day that we were annoyed, when we found a terrace at the back of the hotel that has a better view of the balloons at sunrise, and that the previous morning (when we arrived) we could have enjoyed the hotels organic breakfast for free, but on the 16th when we wanted to book it, the free offer was no longer on and we would have to pay 15 Euros. Given that we had had four hours to wait for our room, the free organic breakfast would have been perfect to fill that time. but no-one thought to mention it!

Other than that our stay was great. The hotel is peaceful and has several hidden terraces and gardens to get lost in for hours on end. The breakfast is plentiful, but could maybe have done with labels to identify some jams and yoghurts. The day reception staff were fabulous, and super helpful, which totally made up for our initial experience, and the hamam was blissful.

We wished our two day stay at the Kelebek Hotel was longer. The view from the hotel was breath taking. The staff were just so obliging and efficient. We were most impressed with the prompt reply to every email. They organised our balloon flight and a tour to the underground city and other sights. This was done on very short notice.

The food was very good and we ended up eating in the restaurant rather than going into town. Breakfast was excellent. Coffee and tea was available all day.

After checking out, we were able to shower later in the day, as we were catching an evening flight back to Istanbul. All these small conveniences make travel so much easier.

Two days was not long enough. There was much more to see. We were not able to take full advantage of this beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely stay in a cave room.
