We had 4 nights here at the Kelebek recently. We chose the Eagles Nest for it,s generous size, balcony and value for money. It was definitely worth it. Only shame was we were looking forward to sitting on our balcony viewing the coolness of the blue swimming pool but unfortunately we were at the beginning of the season and it was empty and being cleaned.
Apart from this small disappointment the Hotel was great. Very friendly staff, good food on the wonderful terrace with it,s views. The highlight for me apart from seeing all the rock formations was my Turkish Haman experience in the Wellness centre. It was sensational and so worth the experience. Also Ali,s breakfast in Kings Valley was amazing.
Highly recommended place to stay.
Cheers Sonya

We reached Kelebek hotel at 10.30pm after a long trip, we flew to Kayseri Airport and from there took the bus. I called the hotel to check if someone could pick us up from the bus station and two minutes later the car was there.

Tuna welcomed us at the reception. He just gave us our room key said “please have a good night sleep, and come tomorrow morning after the breakfast for the registration.

We selected our rooms from the hotel website and did not regret our choice!
We spent two nights in Room 15 and 2 other nights in room 18. The rate was 85 Euro per night, but we got a 10% for cash payment.
It is a unique experience to sleep in a cave room. Everyone should try it at least once!

The breakfast was a plentiful spread; the rose jam was amazingly tasty. They offer complimentary tea all day long if you feel like staying and relaxing at the hotel.

The view from the terrace area is just breathtaking, if you are an early bird you can see the balloons flying from 5.30 to around 7 am.

The staff is just amazing; they provide you with plenty of information about the region and the tours. They are not pushy; actually if you follow their advice you get to see the best of Goreme.
We booked all our tours thru the hotel and did enjoy ourselves!

Special Thanks to Unal, Osman & Mert for making our stay a memorable one!

We did fall in love with the hotel and Cappadocia region!

This is an incredible place. The staff is amazing, the hospitality is great and the rooms and hotel couldn't be better. Situated atop a hill overlooking Goreme with one of the best views of the city along with incredible "cave" rooms that are quite luxurious - you must pick this spot. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The food and drinks are great, but you must also try the free organic breakfast where you go with the owner to his family farm in the most amazing setting with the some of the best food you'll have! Wish we lived closer as this is an wonderful retreat!

This hotel was recommended to me by colleagues at work, and they were absolutely 'spot on'! The hotel staff went out of their way to help us (our ATM cards, for whatever reason, didn't work, but the hotel stepped up to make sure we were OK... very appreciated). The rooms were excellent, views spectacular... after a day of dusty hiking and exploring, my wife and I very much sipping tea on their back patio overlooking the city. Say hello to the resident cats, they're friendly. The hot air balloon company that the hotel works with is quite good too, that had to be The defining experience of our visit. I'd definitely stay here if I were coming through again, and I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues.

Room Tip: There is a wide variety of room types, from those carved into caves, to those that are more regularl...

Wonderful and accommodating staff, clean rooms, beautiful views, amazing breakfast -- I could go on and on about what a wonderful experience this was. I was sad to leave and enthusiastically recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cappadoccia area. No need to waste time looking at other hotels. I would jump at the chance to stay here again!!!

The second stop on our three week Turkey trip was the Kelebek Hotel in Göreme. Turkish Air took us to Kayseri quickly, efficiently and relative to US, cheaply. Nevsehir is a closer airport but most flights come from Sabina Göcken instead of Ataturk and that's a long way from old town Istanbul. Kelebek arranges a shuttle to pick you up and deliver you to the hotel for €20 about an hour away. Your room will be in one of the limestone formations that held cave homes for thousands of early Christians. Rooms are comfortable and properly fitted but basic as you would expect in a cave. The location is high on a hill with an upstairs restaurant and terrace and a spectacular view of the area. As with all four hotels we used, the buffet breakfast was a plentiful spread. Mert, hotel manager, will set you up with tours of all type. We had him book a driver for us to take us to four sights on our second day for 150TL ($75). The hotel shuttle is available to take you down to the town, bus station and open air museum. The walk back up the hill to the hotel is a bit arduous and after the second day we chose to pay 10TL for a cab ($5). Balloon riding is big deal here and Mert can set that up with the best operators. We declined. One of us did not want to go up in a balloon. We had two meals beside breakfast at the hotel restaurant and they were excellent. I had lamb chops perfectly grilled with roasted tomato, pepper and seasoned rice. Price was €70 per night with a 10% discount for cash. I used the ATM in town to get Turkish Lira and paid with that at the bank rate of 2.83TL to €1.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are ground level and I think that is the best option.

We had a 2 night stay at the Kelebek Hotel, and we could not have been happier!

Staying in a cave was a wonderful experience. We had room 116 and it was incredible – such a fun, quirky room with a mix of modern amenities, but still staying in a cave!

The staff was simply amazing; they helped us set up a balloon trip, gave us advice and directions on things to do and see, and were extremely helpful with any request.
Be sure you also go for the organic breakfast; it’s a really cool ride through the beautiful scenery, followed by a fantastic breakfast at the bottom of a small valley. Just be sure to wear good shoes as there is a bit of a hike involved.

We would recommend Kelebek most highly!!
